Walking in I was impressed how clean and bright the room was. It was well decorated and my kids had fun picking which chair to sit in as they all were decorated. Service was prompt and attentive with refills and willing to deal with my son who was having a meltdown. The food was delicious and quick to come. The meat was well seasoned and the tortillas seemed quite fresh. The chips and salsa were what I would have expected and were good as well. The burrito meal was large enough that my wife shared with our 12yo. The kids meals were appropriately sized and priced. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Basic Mexican place. The shrimp tacos didn't come out with lettuce and cheese like the menu said they would. Instead they came out with cilantro and onion which was still good. The Pina Colada's were good. I think the service was bad for me because the teenager waiter was inexperienced and not a problem across the whole place. The staff was friendly and karaoke on a Monday was a pleasant surprise. But the bar service was slow with no actual bartender just who ever was walking by at the time. And ordered the special steak with shrimp unfortunately nothing special about it. Over cooked fatty meat with frozen vegetables and 3 precooked shrimp didn't give me any reason for a return trip. read more

I have eaten in Mexican restaurants from Alaska to Florida, in California, Arizona, Texas, and Michigan. The meal I had at El Rancho Viejo was superb. The chili relleno was made with an ideal cheese--not bland and not over-sharp--and the chili had just enough "al dente" to be interesting. The beef enchilada, too, had just the right balance of zing and flavor. Though I live a thousand miles away, whenever I return to visit my friends in Goshen, I'll make at least one visit to this restaurant. read more

My third time eating here and I've been happy with my decision every time. I had the Chile Verde tonight and I can't say enough about how tender and flavorful the pork was. Meat was a little dry but they give you sauce and cilantro to put on top to help that, but overall they were very good. Great restaurant for lunch and dinner. read more

We gave this a couple tries. First time was pretty good when they first opened. A couple things could have been better. Took friends the 2nd time, oops. The food was so greasy and we waited forever for it. I had to convince our waitress that our fajitas come with a plate of rice and stuff.
