I was excited to visit the store because I love a good Hispanic grocery store. Store was clean and produce was fresh. Price was fair. That's where the good stop. I decided to dine in for the experiment. Customer service was not welcoming and absolutely horrible.I ordered the taco plate. The lady didn't even ask if I wanted flower or corn she just heard taco plate n started making my plate. I didn't want to be rude so I let her make my corn shells. She proceeded to put beans on my plate I asked her "no frijoles, please" she clearly got upset but excuse me you never stop n asked me. Then I told her I wanted flower chicken and beef. I believe the lady gave me chicken and pork. I don't eat pork for religious reasons. Chicken was dry n flavorless. The other meat was absolutely disgusting. Rice hard as hell. This was my first time at this location. I am generally a fan of El Rancho. First thing I noticed was the smell of tortillas being made. That is an excellent smell. It pulls you right in. This location is huge. Sure evenough, the tortilleria was churning them out. It is kind of fun to see the process right in front of you. Their produce section is great. One of the reasons I like coming here. Always fresh and well stocked, you can find some really excellent deals. Ever bought 20 limes for $1? It happens here all the time. Another steal, all the spices. That is one place specialty markets really shine. And they sell so much of it that the quality is good. You know your bag of oregano has not been sitting there for three years. They run good sales on meat and seafood. This trip, I specifically came in for their deal on tuna steaks for $5.99. Also, I make my own chicken broth and this is one of the only places I can find fresh chicken feet. Yes I said feet. Gotta love that collagen. Their weekly ad is always worth checking out for the weeks deals, they also run specials over the weekend. A lot of their shelf stable items are priced higher than you might find at a big grocery chain, but that is not why I come here. However the savings that I get on the things that I do buy, more than make up for going a bit out of the way. Some people have mentioned that a lot of the staff primarily speak spanish and that is true. However, not speaking much myself, I have never had a time where I was not able to communicate what I was needing and I have always gotten good service. read more

I am like those mystery shoppers looking and comparing prices with other grocery stores. What I discovered was that I could buy a huge bag of chicken legs for under $9.00. I compared to 2 other grocery stores I shop at and you won't find that. They are twice as much. Other items I usually buy are also less. Like kellogs frosted flakes, oatmeal and a few other items. Some vegetables and fruits are also less than Tom thumb. My 3 go to stores: Aldi, El rancho, and lastly Tom thumb. I like to stretch my dollar. In this economy I have too. So in turn I don't miss out on any item because it cost too much. I find them elsewhere. I also love their return policy when it comes to meats. Only once did I have to do that. At other stores it was constant. They shouldn't be peddling bad meats & fish. Again, at El Rancho I haven't been disappointed. Only draw back: the music is way too loud. Lol read more

I went in this store today and found it to be clean and well stocked with quality product. What I didn't like was their about me statement in their website stating their goal is to make Hispanic shoppers feel at home. Not sure how they get away with this. If a grocer in a white area stated their goal was to make Caucasian shoppers feel at home there would be riots and protests in front of the store . I won't return and I'm positive my Hispanic wife if 30 years that died 3 years ago would agree. read more

I love this chain of stores! It always makes me feel like I am back home in Mexico with my family going out shopping for our holiday meal. I have been to several other locations to know the layout and all the services offered and when I saw this one I was surprised at how big it was. I was driving by the area one day and saw it a mile away and had to stop haha. Everything is well organized and labeled. The decorations are always my favorite part, they make it look like the fish just come out of the ocean and the cows just got done being milked. It is so festive during the holidays that sometimes I stop in just to get a drink and sit at the picnic tables and think of how much I miss my family in Mexico. The employees were friendly and helpful when I was at the butcher counter. If you never been here before it does get super busy on the weekends and you have to get a ticket in order to be seen. Also, dont feel intimidated by all the Spanish floating around, these people speak English lol. All of their cashiers are also bilingual so no need to feel like you cant ask questions. Dont feel like you are not welcomed here because you are not of Hispanic heritage, everyone is welcomed. Not gonna lie when I went shopping with my parents when I was younger at these stores I would see non-Hispanic customers and would be like "wow they shop here too! I know why because they know these stores have good food and yummy fruit" haha no joke you guys that was me at 11 yrs old. The food court, bakery and drink station are all made daily and from scratch. I been to the store a couple of times and seen the employees that restock the fruit go through and check which ones are about to go become too riped and pull them off to the side to be used in the juice bar. They do have some holiday food available only during the holidays for sale (like tamales) so be sure to keep an eye out for those. read more

I've been here twice since they opened. Both times were quick stops, but I noticed that it does look nicer and a lot more spacious than the Tom Thumb that it replaced. It was clean and the produce prices were average. Upon entering, the music and colors invite you to Mexico. During my second visit I decided to try the Cocina (kitchen) and order some tacos. My eyes were bigger than my stomach so I went ahead an ordered a fajita plate too. My favorite was the barbacoa taco, but overall it was all just okay for me. Enough to return, but maybe not rave about. Nice that the kitchen closes at 9 pm. The ladies working seemed to only speak Spanish which was fine by me, but could pose an issue for someone else. I actually ended up ordering for the couple behind me for that reason. I saw signage for tamale orders, so I definitely have to try those! I'm also going to have to get a mangonada like another reviewer mentioned. I love aguas de refresco also, and they had a large variety to choose from. Lots to sample here. There's a bakery full of sweets and breads, and they can customize. There's a butcher too! Good grocery store to shop at if planning a party. read more

Store wise i don't really recommend not many varieties but as cake i do love it here i order a cake and it was delicious it was not so sweet and it had it flavored and it was not that expensive! My was for 50 people and it was pretty big and less than 100 dollars the service was pretty quick and nice people! Will definitely keep ordering more cakes in the future! read more

The food here is amazing and fresh, as well as the service, the employees are kind and nice, and most times considerate! They recently updated their checkout system and now it's self checkout. It is horrible. If you like to shop early morning expect long lines. They have no employees working in the AM. ALL CASHIER LINES ARE CLOSED. Just self service is open with ONE Employee trying to help all 6 shoppers with the system. It's ridiculous. And on top of that the system alwayssss needs assistance. The only good thing I can say about this grocery store is that the food /bread is delicious with the fresh fruit waters. read more

El Rancho has a decent variety of meats, seafood, and ethnic products. But, if you are searching for the big brand names, you will be disappointed. Their prices for fresh produce are good, even after 2022's mega inflation. Overall, the rest is average. My main issue with El Rancho is how slow the cashiers are. But, the location is good, great parking, and it is surrounded by other places, and restaurants you can visit. El Rancho is worth a try. read more

1 checkout available at the time we visited the store and they made us go to self checkout and their self checkout machines are not very responsive z we had an attendant help us at least 5 times and she would get mad because we called her over. I told her this self che out was giving us a headache and she said we need to learn to check out. I told her no because I don't work there and she just walked away. I went on my own one day to check it out. Seems bigger inside than the Tom Thumb was. Went back a few weeks later with my kids. Packed with a ton of people and as it was the first time, people were swarming the meat counter like bees to the hive. I got in line with my kids to get a mangonada with two women ahead of me. When the woman ahead of me was about to be done paying, another woman with her kid came from the far end of the counter with her kid (who had walked up to that other end of the counter after we were in line, money in hand and squeezed with her kid, jumping us in line. Came here for the grand opening and must say that there were lots of people and great deal and lots of fresh produce and fruits. Also, Came here last wednesday for Granadas (Pomegranates) that were on sale on wednesday for 59 cents. NO other store has that, and so we went and found out that their weren't more. El Rancho is the newest store to the neighborhood. Everytime I go in the story it is very busy and crowded. The staff is friendly, but most of the employees speak little to no English and it's very frustrating to communicate. I love the juice bar the prices are very reasonable and taste very good. The fruit, vegetables and meat are very well priced. Most of the other products in grocery seem overpriced. The only thing I don't like about this store is it stinks as soon as you walk in. All the different smells turns my stomach. read more
