We've been in the area for 6 months now but we started eating here years before! Food is always great & it hits the table quickly! Service is always good, too. Staff are friendly, hard working & fast! The vibe here varies on the night & staff working but you can be sure that when the Manager is working, it's going to be crowded and there will be plenty of "whoop whoops" and laughter echoing throughout the restaurant. Stuart doesn't have many restaurants but at El Rancho you'll get dinner and be entertained. It's definitely worth the price and your time to stop by and dine in. My favorite is the Fajitas Texanos & hubs typically gets Nachos Supreme. We've never been disappointed with our food. Prices may vary from Menu Pics ( posted years ago) but every restaurant and business has had to raise prices since the pandemic. I stopped in for lunch here. There aren't a lot of options and Mexican tends to be a safe choice. The service here was pretty good. There was a girl manning the entry and another guy making rounds as well as the manager (making woo sounds) occasionally. Our waitress was super nice and always available. I order the Diego special which is beef tips in a tortilla covered with cheese and salad and a side of beans. The side portion was normal, but the diego portion was tiny. Lunch portion, not surprising, though I would say if you're hungry, don't buy a lunch portion. The chips and salsa are exactly what you'd get at any Americanized Mexican restaurant, and the "authenticity" was the same. My grandmother lives in Stuart and my sister and I's number one complaint about visiting when we were little was that her food didn't.... sit well with us. Enter El Rancho! It's debatable if Mexican food is any easier on the stomach, but man is this not a great find in a very small, friendly town. It has all of your standard Mexican food and drinks, and the service is always prompt. My favorite part about El Rancho, though, is that, whenever we go there with my dad, it is a Patrick County High School reunion. It's as if El Rancho has begun to serve as a meeting place for the town, and I am excited to see that the business is doing well. If I could give this place a negative star I would. I will never return there. Service is horrible. Food was lousy and the staff could care less about waiting on their customers. The manager goes throughout the restaurant yelling loudly (Whoooo) extremally loud and out of the blue. I watched people jump being startled. I've never in my 61 years ever seen anything like that in any type of restaurant setting. This type of behavior is mentally odd and unprofessional. First time and the last. Waiter was super friendly but the food was dry and bland. The chips and salsa store bought. My husbands order was wrong. The last time we went, we actually had to ask the waiter for the chips and salsa. He never got in a hurry the whole time we were there, yet still had trouble getting the food and beverages on the table. The funny thing is that if I (female) go with my daughter, the prices that are rung up are always more than what is on the menu, but if my husband and I go, the prices are always rung up correctly. This has happened so many times that I am positive it is on purpose. So, why do I go back? Well, like I said, it's only one of two places in town that aren't fast food. If you have the time, drive to Martinsville and eat at El Parral. They have the best-tasting food, it arrives to the table in a timely fashion, the waiters are friendly, and the prices reasonable and consistent. It's my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area surrounding Patrick County. Whatever you do, Do Not go to El Charro in Floyd; many people have become sick from eating there. My husband and I recently went to El Rancho because our friends had told us how good the food was. I ordered a chicken and vegetable dish. I noticed it took longer than expected for the dish to be prepared. When I received it looked okay. The vegetables were greasy and the chicken tasted strange. I did not eat all the food because it just didn't seem right. When I left the restaurant and got into the car I felt sick. As we were driving home, about 5 miles from the restaurant I got very sick and my husband had to stop the car so I could have an emergency bowel movement. Then I felt weak and could not stand up. He lifted me into the car. For the remainder of the trip plus the next day I was very sick with diarrhea and vomiting. In about 24 hours I was okay but dehydrated. He was okay because he got a beef taco. For your health and safety don't go there. I rate this restaurant a 0 but the rating requires me to give it a 1. read more

The food is authentic and the flavor is amazing and to say the least the service is the fastest I've every seen in the restaurant industry.
