I went to see a football game at El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, CA on 10/30/2014. I'd been there once before but that was back in the 1970's. Entry to the game was $6.00, parking was free and a program was $6.00 (but 60 pages and well worth it). The host El Rancho Dons defeated the visiting California High Condors of Whittier by a score of 48-14. With the win, it was their first league title in over a decade.

The 2016 graduation ceremony is so poorly planned. It's dark outside , not good for photos. Seriously. Next time you need to end the ceremony 1 hour prior to sunset. It's also not safe for all the attendees with children trying to get to theirs cars on crowded streets. Plus restaurants won't be open so no after Grad dinner. Miscommunication between admissions staff saying they'd let visitors in without tickets on the north side. No announcements about flowers and balloons not being allowed. I got barked at for having (1) ONE balloon! How on earth does someone have a 4.5+ GPA? The curve I imagine. Curriculum must not be difficult enough here. Ok... 2 stars because of the fireworks display.

The kids might be annoying, their parents worse, but at least they put on a couple good firework shows a year.

The Best Bingo Experience in Town--With a Heart!…read more I absolutely love coming here for Bingo! They offer the cheapest buy-ins with the most generous payouts I've seen. The layout is perfect--never congested, with a comfortable "two people per table" setup. The customer service is top-notch, and the volunteers are incredibly courteous. Support a Good Cause One of the best parts about playing here is knowing that all proceeds go toward a great cause. It's a win-win: you get to have an amazing time with the chance to take home some cash, all while supporting meaningful work in our community. The Management A huge shout-out to Paul, who manages the event. He is truly the best! Unlike other places, Paul focuses on the players' happiness rather than just the bottom line. He's professional, approachable, and always listens to feedback with a positive attitude. The Schedule: * Tuesdays: Starts at 6:30 PM. * Monthly Special: "Strip Night" (typically a Thursday) with massive payouts. Prizes & Safety They are incredibly generous with giveaways, including cash raffles, pull tabs, and a $1,000 "Must-Go" cover-all card. Plus, you can play with peace of mind--the parking lot is secured with guards, so you always feel safe. I highly recommend this place for a fun, stress-free night out that gives back!

I use to help him with the outside platform for our Friday assemblies. I remember he even took a group of us to a basketball game and he paid for everything. Back then they gave the boys swats for misbehaving. He had a huge wooden paddle hanging on the wall behind his desk. It was almost like a trophy. When he died it was a sad time for the school. They even had a small plaque placed at southeast end of the park. It was a vey nice ceremony with students and city officials. That's when they officially changed the school's name to Jack Macy Elementary. They later shortened the name for some reason to Macy Elementary. I recently took my family to the school, so they could see where I attended school. To my surprise the old gate kickball backstop was still there in the field. What really supposed me was the fact that the plaque honoring the Mr Macy had been destroyed and grass was covering where it was. It was obvious the school had not taken any action to replace it, as if the principal was lost in time. I hope the current principal sees this post and looks into it and replaces it. The history of the school should stay alive and not lost with time.

Our…read morelove for the school was truly put to the test when the Altadena campus (and also our home) burned down in the Eaton fire earlier this year. We had a choice to make whether we wanted to continue on, meaning a much longer commute and many more hours each day away from our little ones so they could attend the other campus in Monterey park. We made the right decision to stay with Meher. The school went above an beyond to wrap around its impacted families during this crisis. When we were displaced we were even invited into a zoom class room so the kids could stay connected to their classmates. They did not fall behind, and had a loving environment to return to when we came home. We trust their approach to normal misbehavior and conflict between kids, and the kids trust that when they are there their needs are met. The structure is comforting for them and the lessons engaging. We love that the school has a loving and professional approach to child development. We feel there is a real investment in our kids learning how to do things on their own, which we have noticed contributes to their confidence and eagerness to discover and learn. The teaching staff is well versed and continuously learning how to be great teachers. It is not "childcare" it is truly school in a way that sets the kids up for confidence and success. We feel lucky to be part of this community and after looking at other options, are clear this is the right place for our little ones.
