A town the size of Carthage is lucky to have a Tex-Mex restaurant as well run as Rancho Grande. The place is clean, the staff is efficient and friendly, and the food is good. It would be better if the chips were warm and the salsa spicy. Both were very bland. Maybe that's the way the home crowd likes it. The menu is huge -- seven pages long. I settled on a beef and chicken fajita combo ($21.95). It came with charro beans in a tortilla soup. It was delicious. The sizzling fajitas were moist and tender, but I would have preferred a little more sear on the beef -- it had none. There's a lot more to the menu to explore. read more

We are from out of town and when we come in I want to come here! 1st off their salsa is served warm, it's amazing! Their drinks and food are always good! I usually get their steak street tacos and last time, my husband got the Chicken Vallarta. Very good! They are usually pretty busy so we got there early last time (around 4pm) and were able to be seated right away. read more

My husband and I went to eat there this afternoon. It started out nice, then it went downhill from there. It took several times asking for more salsa and when the waiter filled our drink glasses again, he spilt tea all over the table and me. I took a drink of my tea and it was sweet. He finally brought back an unsweetened and forgot the straw. After about forty five minutes waiting for our food. The waiter said the plates are very hot, well, that was the only thing that was hot. I took a bite of my chicken enchiladas and they were very cold. My husband's enchiladas were covered in cheese sauce so much that he had to scrape it off to find the enchiladas. Then after my husband finished eating what was edible, we waited 15 or 20 minutes for the waiter to comeback with our check. I finally had to go ask the cashier for our check and another waiter took care of it. The food was inedible. Needless to say that was the first and last time we will eat there. read more

It was OK. I'm biased as it's just down the road from one of my favorites. The chips are a little over cooked and the salsa was kind of bland. Even my 10 year old added hot sauce to it. The food did come out hot and fresh, good portions and quality. The waiter was very attentive and patient with out group. Overall, the food was just OK for me. read more

Had work lunch here and it was very good. Hot chips, warm fresh salsa. I was with other people we all ordered something different and we all throughly enjoyed our meal. Staff was friendly and on top of things. Very cute place. If your a ice team eater, they have a free ice cream machine too. Not really my thing, but the other two enjoyed their desserts. We rolled in on Friday, Sept. 12th around 7PM based on the good reviews on Yelp. Service was prompt and friendly, prices were OK but the water tasted like they were fracking next door - really horrible and I've had some horrible smelling and tasting water. The water was so unpalatable, it ruined the rest of the meal and the cheese enchiladas tasted off, as if they were affected by the water. They advertised margaritas, but said they were out of supplies (really, at 7PM on a Friday night you are out of mix and supplies?) so I ordered a beer. "We don't serve beer" - really, a Mexican restaurant in TX that doesn't serve beer? Needless to say, we won't be back. To the restaurant; fix your water supply problem, filter your water or buy bottled water but do something because the smell and taste is a real turnoff. You and your local customer base may be acclimated (like the person with four cats in their house and can't smell anything) but believe me, it ain't right. read more

Went here with a party of 5 and a friend of ours came with a party of 6. Separate table separate bills. But both tables charged 30% tip on each bill. Don't waste your money. I've tried this place 4 times now, giving it the benefit of the doubt. They only good thing is their salsa. That is it. Don't order anything that requires water, try a coke, otherwise it will taste and smell like pond water. Their queso tastes like warmed up can cheese from Sam's.
