    Grilled catfish tacos.

Always friendly staff, yummy food with a wide variety. I love their salsa which is fresh and warm. They serve it in a pitcher. Their enchilada gravy is my favorite and I love their rice too. It's a small place but it's ALWAYS busy and they have a free ice cream machine with the BEST soft serve. It's so good.

Menu is deceiving. Plate listed under enchilada menu but didn't come with rice and beans

Love their salsa and cheese enchiladas with gravy, topped with chopped onion and cilantro! Nachos supreme is huge, and wonderful too.

But: I never gave it an honest opinion, so in memory of mom and an honest chance at an honest opinion I went back. May 27, 2023 12:44 pm. Party of one. It was a Saturday and winding down from the lunch rush. I requested to sit at the bar. Where there was available seats but (not bussed and not) ready for reseating. 12:50 I had a seat and a beer. 12:59 fajitas ($15) hit the table. It was great. Everything was tasty. The server gets three stars for just working dirty and being inattentive. But I'm not needy. I was okay. I miss my mom and my next jalapeño tree should be Palestine Tx # 13

The only real issue is the insanely over priced food, the queso we ordered came out in a 10-12oz cup with about 6 -8 oz of queso and they charged us almost $9 for the small cup. I ordered the fajitas and they had some good flavor to them but pretty small portion also especially for $26! My Wife ordered the Gulf of Mexico and every inside the quesadilla had a black color to it like the grill they cooked the meat on needed cleaned. Also there was an egg smell that came about 4-5 times while we was eating, still not sure what that was. Probably take a break from this place for a while!

Taco Tuesdays in Center, TX; who would've thought you'd see that in this area? If this was a few years ago, I probably wouldn't have found this spot due to the horrible cell service in this time. Now that cell towers have been installed within an acceptable radius of Center, YELP can help us find spots like this. Wiht the drive thru open, I figured that was the way to order. The lady taking my order got everything to me quick so I could get back to the hotel and gobble everything down. Being on an empty stomach, I did an order of breakfast tacos (Huevos con chorizo, Papas con chorizo), a bistec Sope, traditional tacos (pastor, barbocoa, tripas), and a Pambazo which is similar to a torta but with melted cheese, using the bistec. Everything was freaking delicious. The Pambazo was larger than I expected, messy, and delicious with the charred bread, lettuce, and queso fresco stuffed inside with the bistec. The tacos (breakfast and traditional) and sope had grease, tortilla softness, and savory flavors from the bites. Price-wise, all ordered were a little over $20 which is a steal these days. No doubt I'm here again for Taco Tuesdays or any day when I'm in Center. Seems the citizens of the area cherish this spot and for good reason!

I really haven't had a bad time yet. The only thing that frustrates me is that the hostesses often want to seat me in the other side of the restaurant from the bar side. I sat there once and hated it. In fact, I got up and left. IT's loud and dingy and the atmosphere is the opposite of what I go there for. The problem I see is that the bar side has too many large tables. A person going alone is going to want to be on that side. Overall, I haven't had a bad experience and it's nice to pop in for a cold beer and some oysters.

Husbands redfish tacos were huge & blackened as well. Very tasty though he too agreed the rice was flavorless. They do charge $3.99 for chips & salsa.
