Lechon (pork), morcilla (blood sausage), arroz con grandules (rice and beans)

Google maps took us right to the spot. There's a parking lot across the street. The restaurant is next to a mural of a Dominican flag. We got there at 10:45am and ate it for brunch. The pork was amazing. A must-try. The skin was so crispy and the meat was really tender. The rice and beans, and blood sausage were really flavorful. We also got avocado on the side, which really put the meal together. We also got pasteles. They have seating in the back. It was nice to eat under the shed with the chickens and in nature. The roads getting there are narrow and winding but worth the trip there. We spent $35 total for a lot of food for three people, before tip. The workers there are also very nice.

If you are visiting Puerto Rico you have to go to this place. Best roast pork (lechon asado) I have ever had, beside my dad use to make. This place is as close to a hole in a wall as they come. Don't expect anything fancy. Think about going camping and you are having a BBQ. In other words, blue jeans are a must. The sides, depends on what the cook had available that day. I had arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), Pasteles, and Morcillas (Blood sausages). Don't have much time to keep writing, but trust me, if you want to have a true Puerto Rican meal this is the place. One word of advice. If you have never driven in Puerto Rican rural roads. Barely wide enough for two cars with no center line, full of curves, and up and down hills an mountains.....Just be careful. One final word. The place is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. They are officially open until 3:00pm but usually they are out of food by 1:00 so plan on getting there early

Yes! Yes! Yes! Service was amazing and the food was delicious.. will travel up the mountain anytime for this :)

Best food I had in Puerto Rico. Not only was the food so good I'm still dreaming about it almost a year later, but the staff was AMAZING and so friendly. I recommend this to everyone I know who are planning a trip to PR. I would happily fly back just for the food here!

Don't be fooled by the appearance, this place has some of the best lechon I have ever had! If you wanna make sure to get your hands on some, call when it opens to place an order. We came when it an hour to closing on the way to Carolina back from visiting Ponce. 1.5 pounds of pork well marinated and every piece of skin crispy with a medium side of rice. Yum! We ended with an order of flan de queso and flan de coco, you can't go wrong! It is also the place we met our first Puerto Rican hick! Great service!

Don't believe the hype. This place sucks and the service was terrible. Go to Lechonera El Paso down the road. Way better!!!

It was such a delightful surprise when my sisters and I met up with our aunt at this charming…read morerestaurant. It was our aunt's idea, and honestly, it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The food was incredibly fresh, light in texture, and the perfect blend of sweet and salty, yet incredibly homestyle; truly wonderful. I didn't manage to take pictures of everything we ordered, but I can tell you, every dish was fantastic. The service was exceptionally friendly, and the cozy atmosphere made us feel right at home, creating a warm and comfortable setting. I highly recommend it! Parking was a breeze, and to top it all off, they had live music when we visited, which really added to the lovely ambiance.

Great farm to table restaurant just outside San Juan…read more Nominated for the James Beard Award 2025 this restaurant brings Caribbean culture, heritage and origins to the table. Traditional island flavors with thoughtful, modern techniques. The server was welcoming and helpful. He recommended some house cocktails that were delicious. As appetizer we ordered "carne ahumada" bites and tostones with fish salad on top, both really tasty. I was very interested on trying the fried fish of the day because I read amazing reviews on it but unfortunately the sever let me know that it was over for the night. He then suggested the "carrucho guisado" but to be honest I didn't like it that much. It wasn't as flavorful as the other dishes we tired. We also had the chicken milanesa which was pretty good and the pork loin with morcilla rice, that was my personal favorite. For dessert we ordered both options they had which were the carrot cake and a cheese tart similar to Spanish "Tarta Vasca" or cheesecake, with was rich and decadent. Plenty of parking space.
