The service was friendly, attentive and she was knowledgeable about the types of meats and menu options making it easier to make a selection. We ordered several items and they were all delicious!! The Machete is the one item that I'd love to try while at the truck because it was a bit tough, I'm not sure if it was the colder weather cooling it down or if that's the way it is meant to be enjoyed. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants delicious authentic flavors.

This listing might be for La Unica #3, but after several visits and phone calls to confirm…read moreeverything and have deduced this truck was formally #3, but is now #6. The staff has already noted this with me, but seeing as it should all be in the same umbrella, this is about as accurate as I'll get. Located in a nondescript parking lot in Alief, this taco truck is situated next to sister truck (#1) and is the destination for many locals in the know in the wee hours of the night. The protocol here is to order (quickly) at the truck window and then wait in the car while their team handles the order. The menu is extremely reminiscent of so many Houston $1 taqueria trucks, which have the usual smaller, two-biter taquitos but a myriad of other items that include "cryspy tacos" (#2), gringas, piratas, and somewhat obscure items like Tony's burger, gypsy burritos, zuzu tacos, luvacy burritos, and "michelle burguer." (#3) Side note: I do not recommend their Colombian hot dog. The meats here range from the typical fajita, pollo, and pastor along with chorizo, campechano, barbacoa, tripa, and chicharron. For non-taco fans, there are also sopes, quesadillas, burritos, tortas, tostadas, gorditas, and even huaraches available. The tacos are surely their top seller and the corn tortillas are the way to go. In terms of seasoning, the fajita is on point. I appreciate the fatty texture of the chicharron and the greasy goodness of the barbacoa. The salsa is strictly self serve on the counter and the charro beans are a nice touch. The usual outdoor taqueria rules also apply here: speak Spanish, have cash, and eat the food while it's fresh. This is a no frills business and certainly one that I anticipate that I'll be back more often than not. __________ (#1) Refrescaria #4, a juice truck. (#2) Presumably, dorados. (#3) Dead serious: Can someone explain why this is a thing at Houston taco trucks? While you're at it, tell me why asada / bistec / cecina / carne is also known as "fajita" in these parts.

There are other food trucks there that sell desserts, mangonadas smoothies, banana splits, etc.. You can count on them always being open. I did give it four stars because the ambience is so so . A line was starting to form, so I bundled mine up (green and red sauce come with) and drove to a nearby nightclub parking lot to eat. Gotta be honest, I couldn't tell what was what. I have a suspicion that one particular one was barbacoa, but I honestly cannot tell. What I can tell is that these are marvelous tacos. The tortillas were perfect, steamy without being wet; there was plenty of cilantro; the green sauce is nippy and tasty, and the red sauce is smoky. At a buck-sixty each, these are a helluva deal. Go try it!

When our food was ready we were thanked and told they hope they see us again. To me a smile hello and thank you go a long way. There were a lot of options to choose from. We ordered birria tacos, a torta de pastor, a taco de pastor, tacos de fajita, and taco de tripa. The tacos were presented very nicely and came with the cilantro and onions. The yellow corn tortillas were oiled perfectly. The fajita and pastor were both seasoned well and had great flavor, but the tripa stole the show on the tacos. The tripa was crispy and flavorful and my favorite out of the 3 tacos. Next the torta de pastor was wrapped in foil and filled with lettuce, tomatoes, queso fresco, avocado, pastor, and melted cheese. The bread was toasty and the torta overall was delicious. Lastly the birria tacos. The cheese, tortillas, and birria were cooked to perfection. The cheese was melted and when you dipped it in the consume the flavors just danced on your tongue making for a flavor explosion. A few notes that all the food came with their red and green salsa. The green salsa was not spicy but had good flavor. The red salsa was spicy and also very tasty. When we mixed the two together it was incredibly delicious. I added this to each taco, torta and birria taco after the initial bites. Overall the ambiance was okay as it is just a food trailer and there is no outdoor seating. The cost of all the food was $33 so this makes it a great value. It is also cash or Zelle only. I will definitely be back to try the breakfast tacos, menudo, and chilaquiles.

A handful of blocks past the city of Bellaire is the start to numerous night focused food trucks,…read moreone of which is Tacos Leon Guanajuato. I've always been a fan of the (Estilo) Leon tacos and have spent time in Guanajuato, and it seemed like a safe bet. I enjoyed a series of flavorful fajita tacos and haven't looked back. The taco truck is never crowded, as I'm almost always the only customer whenever I'm there. The young people who run the truck are some of the nicest people I've encountered, gracious with every interaction and do their best to showcase what they do throughout the night. It is a cash only business and sits in the middle of a parking lot while the stores are closed. The tacos are on the small side, hence $1 taquitos. They are two biters, the kind that require multiple tacos in order to feel full. The fajita is among the better ones I've tried. They have a bit of a crisp, is well seasoned, and abundant all around. The accompanying cebolla asado is excellent and when combined with their picoso salsa verde, gives a memorable kick after every bite. While the charro beans are complimentary, they still need a lot of work. On occasion they'll drop a not so fresh avocado, which is definitely *not* a highlight. The chicharron is also a bit of an abomination, where the bits aren't really all that tender. I still think there's more than meets the eye, so I'll keep both eyes open and keep trying more of their meats. The real winner is the service and the hours, and I'm hopeful there's more to discover in their arsenal.
