We discovered Amigos a couple years ago, when seating was very limited, but they recently expanded and the decor is more inviting and authentic. We've tried a lot of things on this menu and have never been disappointed. Our food has always been fresh and plentiful, served with a smile. Two things I can ecstatically recommend: their house guacamole and their margaritas. Their hearty and bold guacamole is made fresh to order right at your table and it's become our favorite guacamole. We love their mango margaritas. We have found chunks of mango in ours, and make certain to always get the rims coated with tajin because they use tamarind to get the spice to stick to the rim--so tasty! This is a really enjoyable restaurant we always look forward to visiting!

This fell short, as it seems it was prepared days ahead of time - lacked in freshness. Still good though, just not the best. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was like any authentic Mexican restaurant, nothing unexpected. Overall this place definitely satisfied the craving for some Mexican food, and I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

Paleteria La Fresa also has a rotating stock of homemade popsicles in familiar and unique flavors, from strawberry to avocado to Mexican custard! My Yelp friend who joined me for dinner and dessert there a few days ago has tried at least a dozen flavors - her favorite is avocado. This was my first visit to this restaurant and spent some time looking at the pantry stuff for sale (didn't get anything) and debating which flavor of popsicle to get for my first visit here, before ordering two Mexican street tacos and one carne asada sopes for dinner. My meal also came with unlimited chips and salsa which we immediately demolished! Ultimately, I chose to get the Mexican cake popsicle flavor which was so smooth and creamy and milky and then crunchy with Mexican chocolate slabs inside! It was very refreshing, unique, and not very expensive at 3 bucks. My tacos were saved for later (and tasted delicious a couple hours later at home) but I ate the sopes at the restaurant. It was generously piled with carne asada and the corn pancake was 1000/10! I will absolutely order sopes again! For $16.50, I had a lot of food, a nice treat, and great company. My daughter, my 2-year-old grandson, and I stopped in for dinner. We were told to seat ourselves, which was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, from the beginning, our waiter seemed extremely rushed. When he took our drink order, I asked if they had sweet tea. I was going to ask for half sweet and half unsweetened, but before I could finish, he quickly turned and walked away. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it, but unfortunately, the service continued in much the same way. We asked for extra napkins but never received them, so my daughter eventually got up and brought some back to our table herself. What really surprised us was that our waiter came by, took about half of the napkins she had brought over, and walked away without saying a word. We also asked several times for more chips and never received them. Before leaving, we asked once again so we could take some home with the guacamole we had left, and we finally received them. After I got home, I did call the restaurant and spoke with the manager about our experience. I understand that everyone can have a bad or stressful day, and perhaps that was the case. But when you're working with the public, a smile, a kind word, and simply making your customers feel welcome can go such a long way. I truly want to see smaller restaurants like this succeed, which is why I hope management will take this feedback as constructive and remind their staff how important good customer service is. I'm not saying I will never return, but after this experience, it may be a while before I do.
