Ordered the pozole soup. In my opinion it wasn't seasoned very well. It needed some cilantro and more garlic in it. It did have a lot of pork though. I seasoned it up when I got home since I got it to go. Much better read more

When here for lunch. Absolutely. Amazing tacos fire burrito. Forget about it. Highly recommend. If you're in the area. Don't pass it up.

They have cleaned it up and added new tables. The food is good and hot. I have never had an error in my order. I wish they didn't charge for chips and salsa. They don't ask for a tip on a to go order. read more

This place is a Mexican Restaurant with a Bakery that sells pan dulce. It's a little out of the way and small, but so worth going to.. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I had the large bowel of Menudo that was served with limes, onions, cilantro and tortillas. It was delicious! I'm definitely going back and looking forward to trying a different plate, but it's gonna be hard to not order the Menudo again . read more

Awesome food, great prices. This restaurant has an adjacent Bakery where the Pan dulce is bueno!

Not sure if I can describe any good on it. However, a few disappointing things: hours of business begin at 8. Well, I pulled up at 755am, I live 13 mins away from the restaurant/bakery. I wanted fresh sweet bread in the morning, so I wanted to make sure to get there early to be able to get some. Well the opener arrived at 8:01. I gave her a few minutes before going in there. Doubtful, at this point, that the sweet bread would be as fresh as I thought it would be. Luckily (point: for the good) they did have bread in stock. Not sure when it was made as when I pulled up no one was inside the business. The variety wasn't there. I've been to other panaderías with much much more options. They had conchas (oh yea, another good) unfortunately there were a few flying gnats around the other breads though, that of course didn't become seen until after I went to choose from that shelving. The openers attitude, was very forcefully nice. I can tell she wasn't having a great morning and it came through. Her attitude was not very pleasant. I doubt I will go back. I'll just drive farther for my sweet bread. read more

I ordered (to be safe) the 3 taco dinner (1 steak, 2 chicken), which also came with a side of beans and rice. Very decent food. Its definitely nothing to write home about, but the food is good. I preferred the chicken over the steak...the beans and rice could have been completely optional. I also purchased some baked goods while there. The large sugar donuts were by far the best and super fresh! I'd come back for donuts over the food anytime...speaking of donuts, I totally had a dream about being in the Simpson's cartoon last night! read more

You should be eating here. It's small. It's not much to look at. That said, I eat here more than anywhere else and I've never had a bad meal. I've spent entire midnight shifts dreaming of the breakfast I'm going to have here the next morning. My favorite is the huevos divorciados (eggs in red and green salsas separated by chilaquiles) but the breakfast burritos, the bacon, and even that little cup of complimentary soup you get before your meal are all fantastic. The service is good and the salsas, although a bit thin for chips, are magical on eggs. Watch out for the red one, it's got a delicious smoky kick! read more

Food is hit or miss - I've been when it was amazing but also when it wasn't that great. Small place so I usually order takeout but I have dined in as well. Dinning in the portions are huge. The bakery is always spot on and offer a variety of fresh treats. read more

The food is decent and the staff is polite. They are decently fast but I have to say I feel like is cost a little more than it should for what you're getting. All in all you will have a good time and good food, but it's nothing to write home about. read more

I ordered chicken tacos with onions and cilantro- they were pretty good. The chicken had the skin still on it- it was still good- probably won't order that again because of it. The chips and salsa was very good! This is a really good place for the area. There aren't many good choices. There was no hot water in the bathroom! I tried very hard to overlook it. The bakery side is pretty extensive- they looked and smelled really good. read more

This is my favorite Mexican place! They give you enough food to go home and live off of for at least a week. It is prepared fresh and the service is always top notch. If you haven't tried this place....YOU MUST! They also have an adjoined bakery. So many things to choose from. You will not leave disappointed!! read more

Stopped in here for breakfast on my way into work. Absolutely awesome food and service. Would recommend this to anyone for breakfast lunch and dinner. Had the Huevos La Mexicana and was beautifully prepared, and tasted awesome. Little heat like you want but no so much you won't eat it. Can't wait for the new location to open on Montgomery and Ridge (what used to be the old Country Lounge). read more

One of my go to spots for tacos. I have not been in some months. But they have great tacos. I just wished they stayed open a little later

absolutely love the bakery side of this place ! The restaurant isn't the prettiest and the food doesn't really taste very good.

Great donuts, great tacos, great tamales always top notch and friendly. Highly recommended.

I've been to El Ranchero more times than I'd like to remember. The food is ok, and the service is usually pretty good. I'm afraid it would be less than "A OK" if it was located near any other restaurants. I wouldn't seek out El Ranchero, but if you're in the area looking for Mexican food...this is the place to be. read more

Always good, sometimes great. This Sunday was great. I had 3 tacos - guisado, steak and al pastor. All were excellent. Husband had chili rellenos which were great and my son's pancakes came out Mickey Mouse style, which was an added bonus for him. My other son had his standard - 3 steak tacos, which he always loves. The best part - food and $5 tip - $29.08. Can't beat it. read more

I ordered a tres Leche cake for a birthday party, it was amazing. Had the white cake with vanilla creme frosting. I will definitely be ordering cakes here in the future. read more

First time eating here and was very pleased. Got the burrito with "spicy steak". Flavor was outstanding but the actual steak was not so good. Lots of little bits of gristle that made it lose points. The salsa was fresh and what all "Mexican" restaurants should serve- just tomato, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro - not from a jar. Definitely going back and trying a different cut of meat this time. read more

The food: pork tamales, pork tacos, were AWESOME. I also had a pork burrito that was also delicious. Food earned 5 stars but the owner/ manager was rather curt when I brought a voucher from Restaurants.com with me and the very fine print for this particular establishment was for dine-in only which I did not know was on their voucher. I did not have it on the 4 other vouchers that I used at other restaurants. This was my very first time visiting. I am reluctant to return. I did not feel welcome. read more

This place is absolutely amazing, they have the bakery in one side of the place and the restaurant on the other. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. They have delicious food and baked goods. And their rice water is absolutely the best.

Our favorite Mexico restaurant. It's all about the food. Not the restaurant atmosphere. Not the decorations. Not the music. It's all about the food. Your dinner plate is the size of a serving plate. When you are done with dinner go next door and get some fresh made bakery goods to take home. read more

This place has great breakfast and freshly squeezed orange juice. They also have great soups and tamales. The carnitas on Sunday are awesome. The beans are the best around. The staff is friendly and fast. The food here may not be for everone as it is authentic Mexican food. Some people think they like Mexican food but what they really like are crunch wrap supremes, fiesta bowls and chimichangas. If you wantthe real deal and want more than taco supreme, and nachos with liquid cheese choose El Ranchero you'llbe happy you did! read more
