We made a visit to El Pollo Loco today. We each ordered a two piece combo meal. My wife got the white meat version whilst I got the dark meat. For sides, she got rice and corn and I chose Mac n cheese plus coleslaw. The chicken tasted good and the sides were okay but the portions seen to be getting smaller, especially the chicken. We joked that we thought they were Cornish game hens. Sad. read more

We had a completely different experience coming to El Pollo Loco in the morning compared to the night time. In the morning, everything felt welcoming from the moment we walked in. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel comfortable right away. The biggest difference was definitely the taste and flavor of the food. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. You could tell the food had just been made, and our order came out super fast. The chicken was juicy, the sides were fresh, and everything tasted better overall. This visit honestly reminded us why we like coming here. Great service, fresh food, and a much better experience overall in the morning read more

My review is pretty simple and strait forward. The new employee Berlynn does not listen. When you tell her something, she just does what she wants to do and blames the customer for her getting it wrong. I've been going to this location for years and the staff and management are normally super cool. But this new employee is making me rethink going there. read more

It's always a crapshoot when it comes to chain restaurants, especially those who franchise. I love El Pollo Loco as an on-the-go option. This particular location turned out to be one of the good ones. The chicken was as good as expected; for those of you that love El Pollo Loco chicken as I do. The staff was welcoming / friendly and the turnaround on the order was fast. Dining room overall was clean and the restroom was clean and stocked (paper towels and soap). If in the area again and needing something fast, I'd return here. read more

Very disappointed with my order from El Pollo Loco. The avocados were spoiled, brown. They should check the freshness of their ingredients before serving customers. read more

I called this place to ask how much just for the chicken, no sides. 22, thats twenty-two bucks just for the chicken. Rip offs, nothing but rip offs. Their chickens are small. Corporate greed in all its finery. Idiots. read more

Frustrated giving a 2 star but not worth the 3rd star. Ordered the chicken tacos al carbon which is my go to item here. As usual they were very good especially with the avocado salsa. I ordered a horchata to drink which tasted like it was starting to go bad. Then ordered churros for dessert. Very crispy and difficult to chew. The order did not meet the usual level of satisfaction I get with this chain. read more

My husband loves the 8piece fam meal lol! I tried once to copy the chicken and failed lol

The restaurant at Avondale, there is always something missing when I order drive thru. today green sauce was missing, the other day: dressing for the salad was missing, etc; tires of this crap. read more

Picked up a chicken burrito bowl and it was terrible! The chicken was inedible and looked like discards with no recognizable pieces of chopped or diced chicken. I won't be going back! read more

Had the best meal of the week! The double chicken bowl was outstanding! Chipotle is TRASH compared to the quality & service from the Crazy Chicken! I can't wait to come back & try something else! Thank you & God bless. read more

Use to love this place but recently they've been over cooking the chicken, it's always dried up and burnt. Probably need a different location. read more

The AvonHell curse continues. At 1pm on a Sunday, El Pollo Loco was "out" of pico de gallo and salsa?? This seems a bit of a lie or a stretch of the imagination or some lazy employees perhaps? Anyways, the meal on Saturday could have used some salsa, but still was one of the best I have had at this chain. It was a double chicken tostada salad with a creamy cilantro? dressing I think. Everything was great and it had rice, cheese, lettuce, avocado and loads of well cooked pollo. It was about 9 bucks with a drink and even the tostada shell was quite good and not greasy. The other meal was a bowl of chicken with avocado and corn and cabbage. This one was just average - it seems you need to order double chicken to get enough meat to fill you up. Another trick of the ole chains. read more

El Pollo Loco - 12 pieces leg and thigh - Mexican Near Me - Avondale, Arizona

We ordered 12 piece chicken meal along with a couple salads. I was completely shocked when I opened the box to make up our plates. We had a total of 6 little wing pieces with MAYBE a little bite of chicken on each. They should have been trashed NOT sold. The legs were not much bigger than my finger not even joking. The breast were small but at least had a few bites on them. All in all very disappointed and will probably never visit this food chain again. Very expensive lesson in my book. read more

Order was missing churros, gave wrong salsas, chicken over cooked, no lines in drive thru and still can't get orders right.

I read so many reviews so I guess my expectations were high. Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. The food was ok, nothing to rave about. The first bag of "chips" was chips crumbs and dust, had to get up and ask to get actual chips. There was a bowl in the order it was missing chickenless chicken. Out of four tacos we got three. So had to get up three times during a meal because it wasn't as it should have been. Needless to say we are not coming back. read more

The food was excellent but the service was a bit lackluster. The rewards program wouldn't allow me to use both a coupon and my reward dollars even though the cashier said it would work. I had to use the coupon first which took $1 off but then couldn't use my $10 in reward funds. The cashier said " oh oops, maybe you can't use both". Better education of the program would be helpful. Either way the food was good and will keep me coming back to El Pollo Loco's in the future, not sure if it will be this exact location. read more

They are hiring but that is not why we ate there. We needed a quick, less expensive place to eat dinner after a lousy experience at the nearby Avondale Mazda dealership. It was my first visit of El Pollo Loco. The cashier was friendly and attentive. It was cool seeing hundreds of pieces of chicken cooking. It helped me decide to get their 4 piece meal. Another factor, I spoke with a customer who recommended the chicken. As I sat eating the chicken, it made me think about the tv show Breaking Bad and even if this place had any close association with Breaking Bad I wouldn't care because their chicken was amazing. I also had a side of pinto beans and coleslaw. The pinto beans I applied to the complimentary tortillas, also very tasty. I also tried their mild salsa (I'm a lightweight when it comes to spiciness) and WOW it was delicious. I would have given 5 stars if the amount of chicken had been greater. I noticed other poor reviews but it seems it's for the drive-thru. I noticed near the drive-thru window a collection of pre-made bags. I'm unsure what was in the bags, hopefully just napkins and utensils. Eating in was a good choice. read more

This is by far the WORST location to buy "food" at. The owner should literally be held responsible by the chain for bringing down the name of the company. Our food came to us late and COLD. And our orders didn't come at the same time but more than 15 - 20 minutes apart. The staff should all be fired because all they were interested in were going home 2 hours early as the chairs had all been put up and the lobby. Very unwelcoming. The chips were stale. LAZY workers. Please take pride in everything you do. Would you keep your home this dirty as your counter? I bet you would. Please Pollo Loco hold this owner, manager and staff accountable. They left the butt meat on the chicken thigh. Disgusting. Now I probably won't visit other locations because of this place. read more

We were in the area, hungry, and needed some food. This area has many options, but we chose El Pollo Loco. Our lunch tasted fresh and amazing, our service was impeccable, and this particular location seemed very clean and spacious. My Wife had Chicken Taquitos, and I had the Overstuffed Quesadilla. Both were yummy and delicious. We had a choice, I made the right decision. read more

This is the third or fourth time in a row that I've received horrible food from this place. I'm not sure why I keep seeing myself up for disappointment. The chips/nachos always taste like old oil. I ordered 3 tacos al carbon and the cilantro on them is OLD! Like my whole bag smells like slimey seaweed. I also had a piece of bone in my taco. Good thing I wasn't feeding this to my 3 year old. What a waste of money. Don't eat here. read more

This was a mess. I have gone here since it opened and watched it go downhill. I used to love it. My friend tried so hard to order, finally gave up getting it right. And then didn't even get what he ordered for her. The cashier definitely needed help. Our food was very cold and very dry. The pico is only tomatoes, where's the onion, cilantro et all. And the chips were awful. I am so sorry I recommended it to my friend. read more

They never seem to give you the correct order. I've given them a few chances, lesson learned on my end.

El pollo loco is one of my favorite chain fast food restaurants, so I was excited to see a new location opening near my daughters house. We ordered the crispy chicken tacos and the shells were all way over cooked, the chicken was burnt, & extremely scarce. I was so disappointed especially because this location is new so I assumed that attention to detail and quality would have been at it peek. read more

Horrible customer service. Girls up front super rude! Bad attitude.... worse than McDonald's with their salsas too.

the shift lead rosselyn was very polite and understanding with my accommodations to my bowl. will be coming back.

It has been close to 17 years that I have not been to EPL in Whittier , Ca , It was terrible , Over priced and Service so terrible literally people didn't care .... well anyways that was a while back ,that's the impression I had when I said screw it. Now , I've seen commercials new style , new look but still had doubts..... so we go out to eat that evening most all the places were closed and there it was a EPL, told my wife lets give it a try...... just want to say, Chicken was good, the salsas , pico de gallo. It surprised us nice people serving and good portion of food had left overs and the price ... reasonable . But , the Churros oh man ! nice and hot ready to eat.... that's my opinion and will go back again. read more
