First time here and we were sold. Located off a major highway in Garland, this new location is very easily accessible and has plenty of private parking for their customers. The restaurant is very spacious and clean. You order at the counter as you look onto a printed menu. Since there is no signage saying "Order Here" and since we didn't see a menu up on the wall, we assumed we had to sit and order. However, the staff flagged us down and gave us instructions. It's uncomfortable to stand at the counter, stare at an extensive menu you haven't seen before, and feel rushed to order when there is a line of people standing behind you in line waiting their turn. I ordered a tripita taco - they have fajitas, pork, trompo style and barbacoa (from what I remember). The tripitas were cooked perfectly and tasted great! I also ordered one trompo sope and it was also to die for. Crisped perfectly and topped generously, it was amazing. Husband ordered the posole which he likes and our son has a torta (forgot what kind) but I know he liked it. For dessert, we had stuffed cajeta churros that they sell from "The Churro Factory" and oh.my! Glad we made that decision. I don't know how I missed this place before but it is now my favorite taco place. You walk up to a bar to order your food. They have drinks and beers in a cooler next to the counter. They have a variety of plates or if you'd prefer, single tacos. We ordered barbacoa, trompo, and chicharrone tacos. Soon after we ordered, we realized that they offer the elusive horchata! The woman who took our order gave us plate, which they have chips available for free. On the opposite side of the wall, there is a condiments bar full of taco fixings and sauces. The food came out within 10 minutes of sitting down and all of the tacos were consumed shortly after. I wished I ordered the trompo because they spices on the tromp is impeccable! read more

Una vez más una gran decepción en este restaurante, cuando recién llegue a vivir en esta área 6 años atrás este fue uno de los primeros restaurantes que prove, en ese entonces gran decepción, pedimos unos burritos y encontramos cabellos en la comida, en ese entonces creo el manager era un señor como de 45-50 años. Despues volví cuando Sonia era la encargada, el lugar estaba más limpio y organizado, la comida estaba muy bien y muy buen servicio. Hoy fui en busca de un caldo de res para no solo encontrarme con unos precios más altos pero unas porciones más pequeñas, serían aproximadamente las 12:00-12:30 hora de lunch pero el lugar estaba semi vacío aún así les tomo 25 min para servirme un caldo de res con tres trozos de zanahoria un trozo de chayote y repollo, un trozo de carne con un hueso enorme que hace imposible maneobrar en el pequeño plato. La estación de la salsas ya no tiene salsas, la salsa solo está disponible en botellas, el area estaba bastante sucia en general el restaurante se ve sucio y descuidado. Tal vez seríamos unas 20 personas en total y aún así no se daban abasto, el la línea había 2 personas una señora de edad llevando comida a las mesas, algunas personas tuvieron que pararse a pedir utensilios y otras cosas por que no les llevaron, el cocinero se ve desganado sin ninguna prisa o motivación, la persona tomando las órdenes aparentemente está a cargo pero parece ser que no tiene control de su equipo, entre tomar una orden y otra se mete a la cocina( sin lavarse las manos o ponerse guantes) y ayuda a preparar los tacos. Casi ya al final pude ver que un señor quien pudiese ser el gerente general o el dueño salió de la parte de atrás ( me imagino la oficina) acompañado de un joven aparentemente instalando algún equipo de vigilancia o algo así. Yo me pregunto si este señor es el dueño como no puede darse cuenta de estas fallas? Tal vez no le importe mucho su negocio o de todas maneras le va bien. I have been here 4 times. I would not recommend this place ever. Before I start, let me just say I've only ever given 1 other place 1 star and that was for freaking blatant racism. This place wasn't racist but my time here is so f*king unbearable its down there. Jesus dudes. You're down there with the crappy racist place in my eyes. Do better! This place is my closest Mexican joint. I wanted to like it so bad. I wanted the ease of having a reliable spot with good Mexican! My first time was after a grand opening and it was good. Expectations met, was feeling good. Next time? Ignored while the people behind the counter scrambled with receipts and money. Literally not even a glance. Third time was slightly better but tonight? I'm livid. I ordered 1 burrito and it takes an hour. The tables up front were dirty with napkins and plates so I took a seat near the kitchen so I could watch the food. Its not that loud in here. Yet an hour goes by before someone finnaaalllly stops by and asks very confusedly if I am waiting for food. No way, Sherlock. What else would I be doing here? I repeat my order and the original lady who took it hands me my cold burrito without any sort of acknowledgement. I'm the one who has to ask why 1 burrito took so long and she tells me that orders are taken to the front WHERE THE TABLES WERE DIRTY. There isn't a sign that says "please wait here for orders" or anything. Nah, I guess I just have to be a mind reader to know I should sit there? That's never been the rule before. I told her I was paying attention and asked who called out my name and she kept repeating it was la señora. I had a kid to return to so I couldn't press the issue with her or a manager so I'm sinking down to voicing my awful experience on Yelp where no one is gonna care. That woman kept insisting my name had been called. So either she's calling me stupid or a liar. I'm so angry with myself for giving this place another chance. My food is cold, my day has been miserable and this was the awful ending. Have you ever had those days were just a little bit of kindness touch you? Pros: excellent food. The tacos trompe, rice, beans, and salsas were too notch. Great flavor. Acceptable serving size. Note: the tacos had no onions, radish, lime, or cilantro. There were onions and lime at the salsa bar, but no cilantro or radish. Cons: $5.75 for a single Model Negro? WTF? And the service was slow. How long does it take to put three tacos, rice and beans on a plate? Apparently north of 10 minutes here. We have had carry out twice here. VERY clean and reasonable prices. All of their tacos are inexpensive and very tasty but tiny. Rice and beans are standard Tex-Mex. The quesadilla wasn't as ordered and we didn't find out until we got home... Their two sauces are really great! Very distinct!! Made to order, this isn't a fast food place and it has a nice dining area. They tend not to speak good English so double check your order is proper and verify it when you pick it up! We will definitely go back but I'd recommended to buying their frequent taco specials and then add your side orders separately, it makes it easier to verify. read more

My first visit to this new spot and was not disappointed. The decor and vibe are nice. I asked for a soup recommendation and the young lady explained the Pozole options. I went with the Pozole Verde which is a rich broth with hominy and large chunks of chicken. The cabbage, lime, onions, jalapeño and chips are on the side. It was a wonderful meal for a chilly day. Disappointing and stressful experience. I placed my order in person for take out. 30minutes later, my order is up and they wish me a good day but my I noticed 2 other people had problems with their order before mine so I checked the food. 4 items were missing from my order; 2 drinks, 2 churros and a sope. Also, one of my items was to be a plate but they rang it up as a single taco so I had to pay again for the correct plate and was told I can't get things for free as if I was trying to scam a free plate, wait for another 10 minutes for them to remake it while the rest of my food got cold. Long story short the re-made item was incorrect, they left out the rice and beans, the rest of my food went cold and my family and I had a disappointing dinner. I won't be going here for a while, maybe they're still getting back into the groove of things, I may give them another chance in the future but today they failed. read more

I found this restaurant while I was in the Garland area for work training. Normally I frequent several taquerias in my hometown and was craving some authentic Mexican food. I was so pleasantly surprised by this place! The employees were so sweet and inviting! The cashier who took my order would leave behind the counter in between waves of customers and ask customers "todo bien amigo/amiga?" The food was exactly what I was looking for! I had the sopes the first time I ate here, and have tried the torta, & tacos too. Everything I've had here so far has exceeded expectations and I'll be sure to come back when I'm in the area! read more
