    Breakfeast buffet with class
    Lynn L.

What a beautiful way to spend Easter breakfeast. The food was delicious, the service impeccable. The staff made us feel so celebrated. Liz personally came to our table to make sure everything was to our liking. Most buffets in my opinion are self service. Carmen came to our table and asked what else did we need. I needed catchup and a spoon. She smiled and brought it. Angelica is Miss Sunshine as she made me a perfect omelet. Gloria welcomed us as if we were entering her home. Elizabeth remember us from another visit and it always nice to be remembered Yusef was behind the scene and so friendly The buffet itself has a nice array of food. Served by servers and limiting people picking over it. But each servor, I wish I could remember their names were awesome And I absolutely love the warm gesture they show with their hands and heart I can't say muck about the hotel because I am staying at del Palmer. The restaurants indicate to me a five star experience. Thank you Liz

A bad customer experience negates all the good experience you had. That's what my family's stay at this resort boiled down to. We booked 3 all inclusive room paying $7K+. We wanted to enjoy a good drink so we went to their El Patron restaurant bar and ordered 3 margaritas with a premium tequila. They offered us one with selección suprema de herradura tequila and showed $50 on screen, we thought that was reasonable for 3 drinks. But turns out it was $53 per drink, I have never paid this much for a margarita served on a plastic glass poolside even at 7 star hotels. This was completely scam/ripoff, but front desk said they can not help because it was restaurant transaction, restaurant just blamed it on us even though they did not explain and confirm the charge until they delivered the drinks poolside. I would suggest just look elsewhere for a hassle free, secure vacation. If you have already booked here be careful on what you order and check charges carefully.

My husband and I had few meals here while our stay at Villa Del Arco. The first day we got there late afternoon so we wanted to snack on some Tacos and Guac and It was so good!! the carne asada tacos were on point. One thing I did not like about this place was service. The first day we were rushed!! they close by 6 to set up for dinner and we were there by 5:20-5:30 to grab some food because we just got there and that was the only open place. So we decided to get food here. The server was rushing us, almost asking us not to stay because they have to set up for dinner when there were other people sitting and barely getting their food. I also had that experience while at breakfast, We were rushed to leave and that is not acceptable! Food for breakfast, I would recommend going to Bella California since you can use your wristband there as well. Their food here was outstanding though. I think this was my favorite from all the restaurants we went in the resort during our stay. The melted potato with meat and veggies was amazing. The seafood pasta was really good too. The tacos and Guac were something else though! for dinner we had their chorros as a dessert and they were good!! Ambience is nice, you have beach view and you can hear the noise. Its beautiful!

Tidbit, Salad, Appetizer and Entree menu at El Patron at the Villa del Arco Beach Resort & Spa in Cabo San Lucas.

Located in the high-end Villa del Arco Beach Resort & Spa in Cabo San Lucas, El Patron translates into "The Boss" in English and serves elevated authentic Mexican cuisine. Overlooking the Sea of Cortez with a view of the landmark El Arco, El Patron Mexican Bistro is on the ground level of the resort overlooking the Pacific Ocean, while Neptune Seafood, in which we dined the evening before, resides upstairs. There is both indoor and outdoor dining as they have a main dining room with a live piano player and a huge patio overlooking the beach with the ocean waves crashing below. We sat outdoors this evening and be forewarned the bug situation was pretty intense even at night. Our server Marlene was a little off with her service, as she somehow managed to take away our menus before we finished ordering. With me being the good Yelper that I was, I had already taken pictures of their menu so I just referred to my phone, but what an inconvenience! El Patron is one of just three main restaurants that reside in the The Villas Resort Complex and it's one that focuses on cuisine of our host country. To start our meal off, I got the house mojito which thankfully was allowed for no additional charge on their cocktail menu because it was a part of their all-inclusive dining plan. Each of us ordered a couple of dishes on their Mexican Tidbits menu, as I ordered the Beef Gorditas, which were made with handmade masa, beans, green salsa and sour cream. And under the soup section of the menu, I ordered the Tortilla Soup, which was topped with tortillas strips, panela cheese, avocado, sour cream and guajillo chile. For my entrée, I ordered from the Chef Salas' Baja Specialties section of their menu the Yenekamu Surf & Turf which featured grilled skirt steak. shrimp, potato puree, mushroom bean sauté with epazote. Others in my party ordered their Miraflores Ceviche, Homemade Tamales, the special beet salad and enchiladas. I really liked my steak dish as it was prepared really well and had a high-end presentation to all of their dishes. The fava and black beans that came with multiple dishes were a little too al dente for me. And for dessert, we decided to order a variety of options that they offered including their Churros served with rice ice cream and hot chocolate; their Milk & Lime Charlotte served with Veracruz vanilla, burnt caramel and fried bananas, and their Artisanal Chocolate Cheesecake served with mango compote, pasilla chile and lemon curd. It was the perfect way to end the most elegant meal we had while in Cabo. El Patron Mexican Bistro is the perfect place for those looking for traditional Mexican cuisine with a more contemporary twist. There's a relaxing ambiance out on their terrace, the rampant bug infestation that they still haven't figured out how to combat, that is perfect for both couples and families alike, and like Bella California in the Villa del Palmar resort next door, this space doubles as their breakfast buffet for resort guests during the day. At night, they came alive and our eyes were amazed by their plating abilities and overall presentation of their dishes, and our palates were satiated with a wide variety of signature Mexican dishes that are full of flavor and tradition.

Service was great, and most of the food was too! Sea bass was overcooked but otherwise tastey. Cauliflower purée was so yummy.

We decided to go for valentines dinner and just expected a nice dinner. We had been there before and knew we the food was delicious. This was way beyond, they made a table on the beach and asked if we would like to dine on the beach, it was beautiful, it was perfect. The servers Benito and Gabriel couldn't have been better. They treated us like royalty. The fish was so good, carnitas were really good and everything that went with it was delicious. My favorite valentines dinner ever! I would love to make this an annual event!

Came here for dinner at 6pm & sat outside where we were given comfortable poncho covers to keep warm. Food was great, I had the red snapper, potatoes & zucchini & my wife & relatives all had the lobster which they all raved about after silently clearing their plates. Great service & the Spanish Coffee order presentation was a great bonus.

Atmosphere was great. You could talk and hear the waves of the ocean. Food was a sea food with a Mexican twist. Our waiters were Rueben and Christian who were very attentive. They went above service for our table. Guacamole was so good. I recommend the Coconut Shrimp for an entrée.

We had a great dinner here. My husband and I ordered the Chef's special course that night while the rest of our family ordered from the main menu. We had party of 11 and we were seated right away. I recommend setting up reservations prior to your arrival to ensure your guaranteed a table during your visit. Food is great and beautiful beach views.

The food was really good. Unfortunately this place had one of the most terrible service that I have ever experienced. When we got there, after 8:00 for dinner, a couple before us had a reservation for 8. They had been waiting for the hostess for a while. Finally, at 8:20 the hostess comes and seats them (there were plenty of free tables as well). They had a reservation! They were frustrated too. They were talking about just going to get tacos instead since they had to wait likely over 20 minutes to get seated. I contemplated going to a different restaurant because if they had to wait 20 minutes just to get the hostess' attention, how long would we have to wait after? The hostess sat them and we were sat about 10-15 minutes after. It took long to get menus, orders in, and food delivered. They asked if we wanted dessert. Waiting another 40 minutes for a piece of cake? Nah. I'll pass. The food was good, but I don't think I will go back, at least not on an empty stomach.

    Tamal of the week (pollo)

Yellowfin tuna dinner entree was not good. Not fresh at all. Sea bass dinner entree was mediocre. Had the tamale of the week which was chicken; presentation was nice but also not worth the price. The shrimp appetizer was probably the best dish of my dinner. Breakfast buffet was okay. Neptune has more of a selection from what I remember.

We were warmly greeted by Miguel who let us pick our table. The ambiance is welcoming and warm with great views. We started with some beer and the Cadillac Margarita; the Margarita was presented beautifully and strongly poured. We also chose the Flaming cheese to start with as mentioned on the other Yelp reviews. We loved that and highly recommend it; the corn and chorizo were delicious! For our entrees we went with the Mexican Combo and the Surf n Turf. The Mexican Combo came with a Chicken Enchilada, Chile Relleno and Skirt Steak. The surf n turf had lobster tail, bacon-wrapped filet, mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables. My boyfriend mentioned that he wasn't too fond of how the filet was cooked, but thankfully I enjoyed it while he preferred my skirt steak. We ordered the Flan and Churros for dessert and they didn't disappoint. The Churros came with chocolates caramel and marshmallow dipping sauces. I loved the marshmallow and my boyfriend loved the caramel. We stayed for a few hours and enjoyed some more shots and beverages while watching the sunset. Miguel and his staff were wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at La Catrina. You should definitely make a stop here while in Cabo; the prices are more than reasonable and the service is exceptional!

Proper Mexican mole the kind built from dried chiles, nuts, seeds, and even a whisper of chocolate thick, dark, mysterious stuff that tastes like it took a committee of grandmothers three days to invent. I took one bite and nearly wrote home about it. Rich, smoky, a little sweet... the sort of sauce that makes a man pause mid-chew and reconsider every sauce he has ever trusted before. Then the tacos arrived, and that's when things got serious. These weren't tidy little tacos meant for polite company. No sir. These were the kind where the juice runs down your hands and you stop worrying about manners because flavor has taken command of the ship. La Lupita is known around Cabo for its creative tacos and massive mezcal selection, and judging by the crowd and the music humming through the place, folks already know the secret. The staff goes the extra mile with every little detail, and before long you realize you didn't just stop for tacos you discovered a whole new method of happiness, served on a tortilla.

The place itself does not have a high-end vibe or atmosphere, so the pricing just didn't match the experience at all. The service was nice, I'll give them that, but the food did not justify the cost. I've had way better tacos for way less. And trust me, I've had a lot of tacos in my lifetime. It honestly feels like this place is taking advantage of tourists with these prices.

But that was the end of the positive things as a swarm of flies quickly came to eat the food. Trying to swat them away helped a bit but there was way too many of them. I eventually flagged a waiter down, and he shrugged at the flies. A minute later some candle flame thing came out saying that it will help with the flies but already that was too late as flies were all over the food and I lost my appetite at that point. It was disgusting. I just got up and left. Went to cashier to pay my bill. The cashier also shrugged at my fly incident, and I asked how much it was going to be. Full price. No consideration about bad operating environment and since they knew about the fly issue they didnt setup before food was served to control it better. Even after bringing it up again in detail, she shrugged again. No sorry or anything, just a brush off. Then to make it even worse she asked if I wanted to tip the service. I was in there for a few minutes, staff didnt help quickly or even pre-empt the fly issue, and I'm being asked to pay full price. Sorry but no thanks. How did this place get on the Michelin list? Service poor. Environment poor. Zero or negative star rating for me.

The evening we dined here it was raining, and while that is normally not significant, Roasted is partially open-air with the middle of the restaurant having no cover, so the rain was pouring in and effectively closed 60% of the place. When we arrived, the hostess and owner were apologetic and offered to rebook us, but we aren't quitters and a little rain does hurt us...but they also had a table near the entrance that was covered, so we decided to take it and enjoy our evening. Best decision ever! We started our evening off with a few cocktails paired with shrimp ceviche, queso fundido with chorizo, guacamole and an assortment of salsas. Once we ate through all this goodness, we tossed in our main courses of short rib, octopus, imperial shrimp and tampequena's. Finally we rounded out our meal with a few desserts consisting of cheesecake, chocolate flan and key lime pie! Everything was cooked to perfection, plated beautifully and absolutely delectable from first to last bite! The tampequena was my order and consisted of flank steak sided with a chile relleno and quesadilla...all of my favorite things as one meal? Sign me up! The desserts were delightful with all of us non-flan people being converted after trying the chocolate flan! Ownership put the desserts and a round of tequila shots on the house due to rain, which is more than they had to do. We were beyond thankful and appreciative. Service was phenomenal as well. Our server, the hostess, owner and food runners were all engaged, friendly and helpful. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous! The lit tree in the middle of the restaurant is a centerpiece and a perfect anchor to the decor and vibe. Overall, Roasted was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time, and definitely the best one we had while in Cabo. Do yourself a favor and come here! We definitely know we will be back!
