This place sucks! The food has no taste, the attention is whack, I do not recommend this place. Save your money and go eat somewhere else.

I spent a month in Jamaica and fell in love with the people, food and culture. Living in Atlanta,…read moreone of the most prominent chocolate cities in the US, we have access to Soul food, Soul Vegan, Nigerian, Haitian, Caribbean, and Ethiopian restaurants. Naunie's is a marriage of Jamaican and Hispanic Caribbean foods. The owners are actually of Jamaican and Black/Hispanic descent, they grew up surrounded by these foods. I stopped by Naunie's looking to appease a craving for Good Caribbean food. *Swoon* I ordered the Fadda's Oxtails with peas and rice and cabbage. I also noted that besides beef they had spinach Pattie's and picked one of these up too. The first bite was of the spinach patty and it is by no means Just spinach, the spices were a pleasant surprise and I knew I was in for a treat. I next broke into the tender flavorful oxtails, yummy. If you've ever tried and failed to cook oxtails, put away your insta pot and pull up here. They are well spiced and with the rice and peas, you don't miss on any of the sauce cause they soak it up. The cabbage was cooked, but not over cooked with some carrots added for flavor, in addition to just the right amount of seasoning. By the time I got around to the plantain it was cold, my bad as I wasn't focused on anything beyond the main meal. The interior of the restaurant is clean, colorful, quaint, and post Covid smart with four tables and a long window bar that seats three. I choose to sit and eat without worry or concern as the place was spotless. I will be back! Thank you Naunie's! Tip: they also have Wi-Fi.

I was greeted with a smile and placed an order for an empanada combo. I tried beef, cheese and chicken empanadas. The beef was my favorite. But the others were delicious and my family loved them. The sweet plantains were perfectly cooked. I wished I'd ordered more. The place is just so cute! They have a full variety of Cuban coffee and other sandwiches that I'll be back to try.

Shooting straight to the deets. See the end for the good remarks…read more Controversial review here. I read all the 1st page reviews calling this place phenomenal, amazing, the best.... It was the exact OPPOSITE! I ordered the lechon with comes with Black beans, rice and plantains. The rice - gummy gelatinous exterior, not fresh. The beans - The slightest of flavor and a 2 out of 5. They were not watery which only good thing about it. The plantains - The only item that was fantastic. It had a burnt slight crisp on the outside and were actually the best plantains I've ever had. I had to mix little bites of them to be able to eat any of the food. The lechon - in the photos they look really good. Even the photo I took did not look the same as in person as it shows on camera. Pale in color (old not fresh), dry and horrible flavor if I can even call it that. What a huge disappointment overall. The good: The girl cashier was nice and helpful when we asked if the dirty table could be cleaned before we sat. It's a cute interior to grab a quick bite. Music was good. They make fresh empanadas to order.

Price: $+ ($5-10 pp)…read more Food: * * * * Service: * * * Ambiance: * * As a native from Guatemala, I was really looking forward to going to this place and try it out. My first impression was that it looked like we're going to be eating in the middle of a grocery store. It is a little cramped, but cozy. However.., it does give me the Guatemala vibes. The food is in a cafeteria style setting. Where I would imagine it is changed around every day. It did seem like they have staple foods there as well. Tamales, chuchitos, etc. I chose to get a few things to try it out. Starting with Caldo de Gallina (hen soup) - hearty portion, big and with plenty of chicken and veggies. Tasty and comforting food. I also got a couple of Pupusas (tortillas with pork and cheese) as well as a chicken empanada. Everything was delicious and although it was warmed up, it tasted almost freshly made. This establishment is missing a Panaderia (bakery) to get the Pan Dulce (sweet bread) and other goodies. Strolling through the aisles of the store does give me nostalgia and reminds me of Guatemala for sure. Will be back in the future to try some other things from there.

She gave me stale pupusas before and she uses her bare hands to touch the food. If there's any issue with the food, she will give you a fake smile and insist that you take the bad food especially if you don't speak Spanish. She pretends to not understand you. Other than that this is a nice lunch spot. 3.5/5

Right of the bat that is awsome. She made us feel at home right away. She was not a robot but rather chatting with us about our drive thanking us for coming by and talking with us like we where home. When we where ready she took our order never pushed us to order She let us take our time. Andrea is incredible!! Her customer service is really above and beyond what you would expect. She is the reason we go back!! Yes the food was awsome but its all about the service. Thank you Andrea for making us feel at home. This is something that needs to be recognized by the people in charge. We will be back. Like always the place is awsome great ambiance!!

It was early so the dining room had only two or three occupied tables and no one at the bar in the back yet. I was greeted immediately and waited a short time for my order to be ready. All the way home I could smell delicious odors from the bag! I ordered Churrasco de Entrada which is grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and two sides. The steak was amazing! Tender, juicy, melted in my mouth. I had grilled vegetables and baked potato for sides. The vegetables were a mixture of broccoli, cauliflower, pea pods, carrots, and zucchini. They were cooked well and flavored with garlic. The foil packet of potatoes contained three small round potatoes also perfectly cooked through not seasoned at all. The meal came with three small dinner rolls and a few packets of butter. Everything was flavorful and delicious; garlic was quite strong though which I loved but might not be everyone's liking. I also ordered Alfajores from the bakery section for dessert. These are little sandwiches with soft shortbread cookies on the outside and soft dulce de leche and coconut filling between them. Four came in the box. This meal was at least two servings for me and it was a wonderful experience. I look forward to eating in the restaurant next time.
