My wife and I visited this place twice while in Seville for 3 nights, which speaks volumes. It's location was convenient for where we stayed and is right off of the plaza near the Alamade de Hercules. Many of the dishes we tried were delicious and very affordable. Both times, we left full, had a few glasses of house wine, and left very happy for under 20 euro.
If you don't get to this place at the right time, it is going to be hard to find a table. On our first visit, we utilized the limited bar space and enjoyed ourselves immensely. On our second visit, we went a bit earlier and were afforded a small table to enjoy the meal.
The cannelloni dish filled with spinach is delicious, but based on how fast it arrives on your table after ordering, it is 100% chef Mike'd (microwave). Also, curiously, the familiar taste of the sauce and presence of some campbell's cans on display suggest the sauce isn't super authentic, but rather a tweaked canned sauce. We still ordered it twice, so don't get me wrong, it was delicious.
The Filete de Turco was a nice dish, consisting of a heavily seasoned turkey patty that was stunningly good to eat. It was served with a small bed of greens and some sort of sour cream/herb dipping sauce that complimented it nicely.
One of the highlights of our visits was the Salmorejo dish. If you aren't familiar, it is chilled tomato based soup similar to a gazpacho, yet blended to a silky consistency and is amazing. Theirs comes with slices of Jamon and some chopped egg, and is absolutely wonderful. Order it if you go there. It is 2.50 euro.
We love how a lot of locals, not just tourists come here. Definitely a bonus. Will definitely return. =) Cheers. read more
