Another start to the day in Cabo with tacos. This was the most popular one we went to, and they have some pretty good food porno by the street with a huge roll of pastor on a rotating grill. Inside they have a whole production, a griller, a chopper and a nice lady making all the homemade tortillas. Pastor is the move here. I don't care how you order it, but order it!
Ok first of all let me say I have been researching this place for a few months now I finally got to try it on my own!! Omg!!! Had the baked potato asada , the macho taco that had the chili pepper inside it and a fish taco!!! Everything was excellent!! Got the extra guacamole in the mochajete !! Great!!! Service was great and the ambiance was a nice taco spot!!! I will put up a couple of pics!! Check them out!!!
After playing pickleball at La Huerta we asked for a lunch recommendation. Came here with another couple and ordered the guacamole to share then everyone ordered tacos. Pastor, shrimp and asada. I ordered the CHORREADA (shrimp/beef). They do not have liquor here so we ordered sodas. Everything was great. The condiments for the tacos was very nice. 6 salsas, cabbage, radishes, cucumbers, limes and avocado spread. Excellent. We all left very full. Later a little heartburn but worth it.
From the moment you get dragged in, El Paisa makes you feel like you should've shot straight in without the invite. The host sets a warm and friendly tone right away, and the service team is friendly, attentive, and clearly knows their food. You can tell they care about what they're serving and are happy to guide you through it. The open kitchen is a big part of the charm - watching everything cooked fresh adds to the authentic, local vibe. One small heads-up: the tortillas run on the harder side, and the taco shells are what they serve as chips, which may not be everyone's preference. Don't skip the freshly made guac, especially when it comes out in the big clay bowl - it's excellent. If you blend the salsa and spicy sauce, it comes together even better with a smoother, richer kick. Overall, it's a welcoming, lively spot with great hospitality and solid food. El Paisa was recommended by a resort employee and our driver so we knew this place would have solid, local food. El Paisa is located in the Cabo San Lucas part of town and about a 10 minute walk from the pier. The restaurant is open air and spacious. We ordered what the locals recommended and the choices we made did not disappoint. Frijoles charros - some kind of bean soup - 6/10 Papas rellenas - Mexican version of a baked potato - this was loaded with cheese and you can pick your choice of meat on top - both the asada and pastor were 8/10 Pastor taco - came plain and you can add your own toppings from the salsa bar - 9/10 Fish taco - came plain and you can add your own toppings from the salsa bar - 7/10 Agua de Jamaica - hibiscus iced tea - so refreshing on a hot day - 10/10 This is a definite return if ever back in Cabo!
Clean, friendly, inexpensive, and delicious! For about $20US two people can easily eat several delicious tacos with beverages. I had a carne asada ala gringa (beef and cheese between two tortillas) and a taco Al pastor (marinated pork cooked on a vertical spit roaster). My dad won the meal with his "taco macho" which adds a whole roasted green chile (not spicy) to the taco (in this case, more carne asada) The hibiscus drink was refreshing and not too sweet. They bring a nice set of salsas and garnishes too. It was busy but they move very fast! If you are tired of spending $100 on meals, stop by here and load up on delicious tacos!
Came here for a quick bite while we were in the downtown area. We daw online that this place was popular so decided to give it a try. I got 2 al pastor tacos and we got queso to share. The tacos were delicious, and I loved the pineapple on top. When we ordered the queso, we thought it would be American-style queso, but lo and behold... it was a plate of melted cheese with fried tortillas on the side hahah. We were NOT expecting that at all, but it was still good since it was cheese. I added some of the cheese on to my taco since there was a lot of it. I did enjoy my experience here, I was a little worried about getting sick due to eating food outside of the resort, but didn't have any issues. I would recommend trying this place if you are in the area.
My husband and I had recently eaten here and didn't think we'd go back. However, I'm really glad we did. This time, my husband ordered Al Pastor Tacos, and I ordered a Chincostra with Asada. OMG!! This taco was to die for! There was a thin, crunchy layer of cheese between the tortilla and meat. It was one of the best tacos I've ever had. I'm so happy we gave this place a second try! I can't wait to go back to Cabo so I can eat here again!

OMG! At first, we noticed someone out front promoting timeshares, which definitely caught our attention. But we actually went because our Uber driver recommended the place and raved about their tacos. We were on the hunt for authentic al pastor and tripas tacos, and Taqueria El Paisa did not disappoint! Everything was super fresh, and the staff were incredibly friendly and kind. The restaurant has an indoor/outdoor vibe, so when it's hot outside, it definitely gets HOT inside. They do have a large commercial fan to help cool things down--especially if you snag a seat right in front of it. Amazing tacos and a great experience overall. Totally worth the visit! read more

This place rocks ... the food was bomb.. service was bomb .. the beans and tacos and salsa were so good and reasonably priced .. we were in , fed , and out in less than 40 mins .. thoroughly enjoyed my time there ! read more

We stayed in Cabo six days and ate tacos every single day for lunch.... El Paisa was our favorite. PS- Don't skip the excellent Guacamole. read more

Very disappointed. They added extra tacos to our bill that we never ordered. I ended up paying because I just wanted to get back to our hotel, but this was wrong and felt like fraud. I told them about it, and they didn't care at all. Be careful if you come here. read more
We got lucky with a recommendation from a local and had a fabulous lunch here on out trip to Cabo! The drink menu is a bit limited but they had so many yummy options for food it didn't matter. I have never even heard of a Chorreada before that day but it was awesome! A thicker corn tortilla with melted cheese topped with your choice of meat (I got steak and shrimp) salsa and avocado. It was so good I ordered a second one! My wife got the standard tacos so I got to try some other meats like the al pastor, and it was fantastic! The start you off with a salsa sampler and some chips these are basically your taco toppings so you flavor them to you taste and spice level. Go here, it's awesome! read more
I am going to say this outright! This is the best taco spot in Cabo. They have so much options of meat - al pastor, carne asada, shrimp, chicken, etc. You can get your tacos with condiments or no frills. They are load up the tacos with meat. They ars open late so came here almost every night for late eats. Dont forget to try their horchata and agua refresco they are equally on point. read more
This place might get kind of a bad rap because it's a very easy spot for the cruisers to come and get lunch. Close to the docs and a taco place, that's all they need to know. The truth is this is one of the hardest working staffs in Cabo, it's also one of the best Pastore tacos in town. The condiments on the table include a great guacamole for no extra charge plus all the other things you want on your taco. I wish I could say it's a hidden gem, but it's on the main street and very easy to get to. That's not a knock that's just a fact. I have to love it. Inside sometimes it gets warm because you're so close to the grills but a lot of fans so I'll take it. Good spot. read more
After a party where you had a few drinks, it's a Mexican costume Tu end late night at a taco place... I had three tacos (you can't have more because of the size) the first "al pastor" second "tripas doradas" and the third pure beff... "salsa" were amazing they have a salsa bar with at least ten of them included "guacamole"... the tortillas were excellent made in front of you and I asked for a cold mint tea (never thought I will find something like that in a taco place) the girl that served us, was quick and very pleasant... with a smiling face a a good attitude and the restaurant clean and modern, like they put interest in making their client feel great... this place is in Cabo San Lucas, don't miss it. read more
Note ahead of time: CASH ONLY. This is a great causal, quick to pop in and grab a bite to eat, right in downtown sort of place. Whether you're hoping off a cruise ship for the day, or walking around the sitting on a week long stay, I recommend giving these Al pastor tacos a try. I'll tell you exactly what to order - start with the queso fundido with al pastor. This is like a sizzling cheese that comes out on a cast iron that you eat with fresh tortillas. Then get yourself a few al pastor tacos. If you don't know what al pastor is it's a delicious, flavorful pork cooked like sharma chicken and sliced off thinly. Be sure they top it with their red sauce and a slice of pineapple. It's fantastic. If you're not a pork fan, the carne asada or the shrimp tacos are also great. Really good value here. Stopped here after a great night out and needed something to fill our stomachs before going to sleep. Very busy and was kind of hard to get seating for our large group to sit together so we settled for separate tables. No harm because the food came out fast and we were able to eat real quick and gather together again. Ordered the pastor quesadillas which basically is the tacos with cheese (if you're coming from abroad and are expecting your tacos to come with cheese, they usually don't so opt for quesadillas). All the salsa provided were delicious as well! Good late night spot after a night of drinking! read more

I was researching places to eat in Cabo and I was really trying to find that spot where locals eat. I kinda sorta think I found that, and so did everyone else visiting Cabo. This is such a Mexican Seinfeld moment and I can't even. It felt like a cross between The Chinese Restaurant and The Soup Nazi. It was awful and awesome at the same time and I couldn't help but laugh. We found a table, sat down, and we waited. We waited a long time. We waited as the waitress and waiters walked by our table over and over again. Not a peep. Not a menu. Nada. It didn't bother me all that much, but my girl was..... not happy. Once we got someone to help us out, he was hella nice and super chill. We all laughed about it, and the food came out super fast after all that! Carne Asada taco was ridiculous. The meat was seasoned really well, the tender chunks of beef had bits of fatty goodness and smokiness, and it was delicious. I could eat a half dozen of these without a problem. The tacos Al Pastor are the star of the show and it's done with such precision and skill. First and foremost, they use a different ticket system for these tacos, and only one chef mans the spit. He has a rather large, sharp knife and he fires up the spit, crisps some juicy, fatty pork and slices it to perfection. He does so with such ease and flare that if the home cooks who say "it's so easy" tried it at home, they'd chop themselves up like Edward Scissorhands! The red sauce is spicy AF! Like, it could probably remove rust from a 67 Camero in about 3.5 hours flat. But dang it's good! The green sauce was exceptional and I could put that bleep on everything! I totally get it, and I love this place and all the quirks that come with dining here. Cause at the end of it all, the only thing that matters to a foodie like me, is the food. read more

Excellent taco restaurant. Menu is simple but with a kick. All their meats are delicious, juicy, and flavorful. I love the different ways they prepared their tacos. Love the one with cheese and grill pepper, WOW!! The beans are so yummy. A must have with any of their delicious tacos. Their stuff potatoes are so addictive also. You can't go wrong with any dish or side. We come here every time we are in town. It's a must visit, at least once or twice. Service is fast and friendly. Staff is on it. Open floor decor read more

Never been a fan, but when hungry for carne asada tacos after bar hopping on a Wednesday night, I know El Paisa would come to the rescue. Maybe it's just me, but El Paisa tacos is plain tasting, lacks seasoning, and presentation. Not much to rave about. Also, the meat is not tender. The servers are also nothing to highlight. They just work there so don't expect much. They're not bad servers, just not as attentive and don't have the "good customer service" attitude that I'm use to. I see La Paisa being a tourist spot, commercialized and not so much as a good old fashion carne asada taco hole-in-the-wall where you can actually smell that special smoked grilled meat. Call me picky, La Paisa does not have the best tasting tacos in Cabo. If you have time during your stay in Cabo, make sure you look around and give other taco places a try. You will know what I mean later. Will I return to La Paisa? Of course, for the convenience. read more
