Came to stay for a quick trip to the Springs. It was peaceful, tastefully decorated, quiet and clean. Loved French doors opening to courtyard as well as door through the other side of the room. Internet service was not consistent but it was great to unplug!

Someone with disabilities should not be assigned to a room where you can literally trip.

1. Overpriced: I paid $150 total for a King Bed room. Look for hotels in Fort Stockton (only 40 minutes east) like the La Quinta, Fairfield or Hampton Inn. I have stayed in all of them, and have far more comfortable and enjoyable experience. If you do choose to stay here bring your own pillows and maybe even sheets. It looks like they have never been replaced. Their beds are as hard as the mountains surrounding the area. 2. You won't have cell service here and there are no phones in the rooms! Also, their WiFi didn't work and trying to contact the front desk to clear up the issue after check in is impossible as they leave as soon as 7 pm. I can't imagine what we would have done given an emergency. 3. Service animals: the staff was ignorant to the importance and legal requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act which requires that people with service animals are treated equally and not given lesser rooms. This happened in our case and you can see our damaged room below. The front desk attendant was deceitful in assigning us a room. We had asked previously, upon check-in, if the room had damage from other animals, or was different in any other way to other rooms. To which she had replied "no". We didn't appreciate her dishonesty. 4. Pros: The landscaping was very kitschy. The style of the hotel was refreshing from the regular big chain hotels which is what drew us in. The mountain scenery is beautiful but we're unable to see it from our window even though the hotel was less than half occupied. Cons: No WiFi, land lines, clocks, phones, front office attendance, or pool either in the room or on the property. Also, there's a huge RV park with a lot of aggressive stray cats on the other side of the parking lot which made me feel unsafe especially walking at night. The hotel didn't feel safe or clean. Period. It seemed like nobody had stayed in this room for months and the staff had failed to keep it in an acceptable condition. I recommend saving your money and staying in one of the surrounding areas. It's just not worth it. Take a look at the photos and see what I am talking about.

Nice big Bed.

We accidentally found this place while running from freezing weather on our motorcycle. The place has that old Spanish Lodge feel. The rooms are over the top with beautiful large furniture and a 4 person shower that rains from above. Plus a heater in the shower/toilet room. We stayed in room #2 which was ten bucks more that the standard rooms. Not sure what standard rooms look like. It was $129 for the night for our room. Also, next door is a great Mexican restaurant we walked to. This place was a great find in a small town 2 miles off the hyw 10.

Best Western Plus Swiss Chalet Hotel & Suites - Indoor Pool

After being cramped up in a car for three days, it was so nice to have a little room to spread out. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, had lots of good storage, and had all the in room amenities we needed. The shower had good water pressure. There was also laundry out in the lobby that didn't require payment and everyone was using it courteously. The pool was indoors in a gazebo with sliding glass doors. The hot tub was broken, which we were pretty bummed about because we had sore backs from all the driving. The kids didn't care that it was broken though. The breakfast in the morning was a really good spread! There were options for every type of breakfast goer. You do have to show your buffet ticket in order to eat and you're not allowed to take food back to your room though, so we had to get everyone out all at once to eat. It was a nice stay overall, definitely recommend the plus over the basic Best Western.

The Best Western Plus Swiss Chalet Hotel & Suites in Pecos, TX has to be the best in town!…read more I decided it was time for a girl's trip that comprised of me, my mom, and my two young daughters. My mom enjoyed museum hopping and site seeing with us. She also got a really good night's rest here. As we left she referred to it as "a neat place." My daughters absolutely loved the pool and hot tub here - we had it to ourselves the night of 1/13/2024 and the following morning. They also raved about the hot breakfast with a cute little Texas-shaped waffle and a variety of boba pearls, including blueberry flavor. Yes, I said boba! We stayed in Suite #203. It was nice and clean with two double beds and a sleeper sofa plus two flatscreens and ample outlets. After taxes and fees, my rate was $160.99 The only pitfalls for me was the interstate noise which wasn't too bad, but I could also easily hear kids running up and down the hallway a few times. Additionally, we had to use towels from our room for the pool. At one point I had to go downstairs to ask for a blanket that I thought should have been supplied in the room as part of the sleeper sofa. Nice, friendly staff. I'd definitely recommend for families.

Needing a bite to eat before zipping up the mountain for a star party at the McDonald's…read moreObservatory, my girlfriend and I popped into the Harvard Hotel with our appetites. With a limited menu, we presumed anything ordered would be rather scrumptious. We decided to order the chicken fried steak along with the green chili bacon burger. We shared our dishes per, swapping plates half way through our respective meals. Our consensus was identical and is as follows: The green chili bacon burger was indeed the superior dish. In fact, it was quite delicious! The chicken fried steak was good as well, but the portion was a bit small and the sides were nothing to write home about. Was the burger worth $18? Probably not, but to be fair, I'm not sure that any burger is deserving of such a price. That being said, it was indeed a tasty burger if you don't mind the price. Was the chicken fried steak worth $20? Certainly not. Truly an average dish with small portions, we both feel the decision was regrettable at such a price point. In conclusion, with a juicy burger, an average chicken fried steak, and a limited menu with overpriced entrees, the Harvard Hotel receives a 3 star rating.

The review is for Sean. I had called Hilton and they were booked without much help outside of that…read moreso I went in person since I was so close. They were in fact booked but Sean called his sister property at Hampton for me. And was able to secure a last minute room. He even helped me with directions to get there faster so I wouldn't have to take the side road. Just excellent customer service! He even called to see if his reservations were on their way to see if he might be able to give me one of their rooms. He wasn't doing it because I was a female or anything like that he was just doing a fantastic job and it was so nice to have somebody going above and beyond! Especially when he was going above and beyond because that's how he is doing good business not because he thought I was pretty. I was thoroughly impressed with his level of commitment and I really appreciate it after such a long drive and especially when the phone customer service did not take care of what I was needing. I'm not sure what his role is here but whatever it is he needs a promotion. Thank you again so very much! I was exhausted and I did not want to go to the next town

Sean, the man who runs this hotel is not kind, is dismissive and makes choices that puts customers' and sometimes his staff's safety at risk. He and his family opporate 3 hotels in Pecos. I've stayed long term at two of them under their ownership/management. For his carelessness alone, I will not return to any of his properties. He's lucky there is is a boom at the moment in Pecos and beyond lucky he has good staff on grounds to cover what he allows.

Everything…read morefrom the location, price, availability, and comfort to the helpful staff, beautiful scenery, and peace and quiet made this the ideal place to stay. We're a family of four (including two teens) and stayed in one of the two-bed cabins. It was very clean, comfortable, and just the right size for our luggage and telescope equipment. The mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee pot allowed us to have a few simple meals instead of always dining out. The staff was very considerate to put us closer to where I'd be able to conveniently accomplish my astrophotography each night. In fact, the location is perfect for that hobby due to the red porch lights, distance from the town (which is still dark), and the astronomy pad set up for folks with telescopes and camera gear. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our trip an extra day, and the staff helped us accomplish that very smoothly. Further, thanks to the staff's recommendation (personally and in the binder included in the room), we walked across the road to Dolores Mountain and got some amazing photos--day and night--and made some excellent friends during our hike there. We recommend the Mountain Trails Lodge to anyone coming to visit the Davis Mountains area, and this will certainly be our first choice for lodging next time we visit.

We were pleasantly surprised, especially given the "curb appeal" of the place!…read more This was our fist time visiting West Texas. We had done some research and realized that we needed to "set out expectations" for what to expect on our trip. That being said "Rustic" is an understatement!!!! Now, on to this particular establishment......... VERY laid back with self check-in/out. We only encountered two staff members during our stay, and they were both very friendly and "colorful" (in a good way). The accommodations, while small, and VERY RUSTIC, were clean, and thoughtfully laid out. It had ample places for our luggage, hanging clothes, toiletries, etc., and a kitchenette with coffee maker, microwave, fridge, and a sink which doubled for the bathroom sink. There was a make up dresser for my wife, with a mirror, but no hair dryer (which their website had stated would be the case, so no surprises there). The "compound" had a nicely appointed community pavilion, though it was a bit chilly at night when we were there, and we were exhausted, so we didn't use it. The bed was comfortable, and the heating/AC unit worked properly and wasn't unusually noisy. We left before the cafe was open, and they had closed by the time we checked in, so we didn't get a chance to try it, but the lingering food odor was wonderful, so we were a bit disappointed that we missed out. The ONLY comment I have is that the price, WHILE LESS THAN SOME OF THE OTHER PLACES WE ENCOUNTERED ON THIS TRIP, seemed a tad on the high end. We are generally a Hilton/Best Western/Holiday Inn Express type of client and we paid about the same for "Rustic" as we would for typical lodging at one of those establishments. That being said, this was the best lodging VALUE we experienced during our stay in West Texas, so not really a complaint. We would/will stay there again if/when we're out that way, again.
