We also received a very warm welcome ( staff speaks Spanish, English, Dutch...) We were asked for an aperitif and I chose a Gin & Tonic. The menu is then being presented on a big chalkboard and offers only meat and fish. For 39.00 Euros per person you get a variation of the starters and you can chose one main course. Otherwise you are also able to order a la carte. Once they knew I was vegetarian they also prepared some veggie starters for me as well. Quite nice. But from that point on the service started to go down, if a restaurant charges those horrendous prices I expect them to see that I did not have a knife for my main course also it would have been nice if the waiters poured the wine and not my husband. Although the food was alright and tasted good I was getting more and more disappointed. After they cleared the dishes we were asked for dessert which we declined...for now. Service just stopped somehow and nobody came to take some more orders. We were ready to order more cocktails and dessert. Again: if you charge high you have to deliver! If not: you´ll lose stars.

My husband and I were trying to find some good places to dine while we were in Ibiza, but we were there from Sat-Mon. And I don't know if you're familiar with Spain yet, but they pretty much shut everything down on Sundays & Mondays. Monday afternoon, we had just finished climbing the castle and looking out at the views. We walked into town and I remembered seeing the reviews for this gem of a restaurant. We walked in around 3:45pm on a Monday. I was sure they'd either be closed or closing, but to our surprise, they were open and very welcoming! We were the only people in there besides one person in the front on their computer. We sat in the back, outdoor space. It was lovely and peaceful, and we were so tired. The food came out immediately after we ordered and it had a stunning presentation, but the taste was even more stunning! I'm from NYC, we eat out a lot and we know good food. We're picky, new restaurants open and close every day in NYC. Mar a Vila should be in NYC!! Or at least they should open a location there or in Brooklyn. They definitely need to open more locations somewhere. This food is too good to be kept on such a tiny island, away from so many people! Well, at the end of our meal, Patricia, cleared our plates and then just let us sit. She never made us feel like we needed to leave. It was very nice and a great way to revive after a long, adventurous day. Patricia & Pablo, you have an amazing restaurant! I hope I can come back to Ibiza and experience it more.

The restaurant is located on Figueretas Beach overlooking the ocean. The settting is breathtaking and romantic. We like going there at the end of the evening right before the sun sets. If you get there before 8 pm, you have a chance of getting a table by the ocean. I always have the filet mignon with the mushroom sauce, which is delicious. Last night my friends ordered pasta, and they said it was really good. I have actually found the food in Spain to be a little bland to my taste, but this place is definitely an exception. For dessert, we had the house cake which is a really crispy pastry filled with cream and served with whipped cream. We have also had the coconut ice cream too. The desserts have always been just as good as dinner. The owner is always around and often goes to the tables to greet customers. The waiters speak so many different languages, so it's always easy to communicate.
