In Galveston for the weekend. Looking for a restaurant and found this place. Huuuungry lol. Service with a smile. Food was good. I ordered the huevos rancheros plate with no beans, I'm allergic. Plate came with beans. Too hungry to say anything. Tortillas seemed raw on one side. Meh. I ate them. Thank you for your friendly service.

TL;DR Eat here, you're welcome. The restaurant is off the beaten path near the coast. The exterior has a large mural painted on the largest wall for photos and selfies but the building itself doesn't offer much else. The food was delicious. My enchiladas were cooked very well, I say this because the chicken in the enchiladas was tender and not dry in the slightest and the tortillas were crispy even though they had the perfect amount of salsa Verde on top. Add a sprinkle of queso fresco and you're good to go. The rice and refried beans were fairly standard so not much to say about those. If you're in Galveston and looking for a solid meal outside of the tourist centric downtown/ Beach area, this is the place for you.

Used to be a really great place for breakfast and lunch. It's still ok, but not as good as it was before all the storms wreaked havoc on our area. I will say the Fideo was still real good, the wife liked it too. Wish They still had the lunches and plates They Used to have.

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast (we are from out of town ) and I ordered the menudo and it did not have any hominy in the soup all meat ! So I asked the waitress and she was very friendly took the untouched menudo back , I was unhappy about that since I was looking forward to it . Anyway I did have two barbacoa tacos and they were great .

Bacon and Egg Burrito. It was huge breakfast the are very big!

While there may be better Mexican food on the island, this is a solid choice when you're craving comfortable and familiar food.

It opens at 8 am, so we waited around outside until it opened promptly. It has two main dining rooms, one of which was being used for the breakfast crowd. A basket of really good freshly fried thin tortilla chips were given with a decent salsa. We were given a breakfast menu, which had many things I wanted to try. 3 Barbacoa Tacos a la carte ($9.75) - a lot better deal than the plate (2 tacos with rice/beans/potatoes for $11.95). The tacos were good, decent size on a flour tortilla with cilantro, raw onions, and limes. It was decent quality shredded beef: moist and tender with good flavor. Menudo ($9.95) - only served on the weekend, this version was big with a ton of beef tripe (a lot more than there was hominy, which I'm not used to). I like tripe, but this amount was too much for me. The broth was flavorful and rich, and a good remedy for the little cold I had been fighting. Ended up finishing maybe half of it (ate all the hominy though). You pay at the front. Service was friendly throughout, and by the time we were leaving, the place was filling up. Parking is street, and there was plenty of it in the area.
