This restaurant is as close as you are going to get to a home cooked meal. I had the Birria Tacos, which were recommended by our waiter. The tacos were so good, the beef was delicious, and the beans were amazing. I had a margarita to chase everything down and it was pretty good. My daughter had the cheese enchilada plate and she seemed to really enjoy it, as she ate most of it. Service was good, our waiter gave us recommendations on food, and was super friendly. A group of 6 us went in to enjoy a meal. The waiter messed up our alcohol drinks and then never brought me my dr.pepper. When our food came out, everyone got their food except me. I got my food about 10 minutes after everyone else. The people next to me who came in 15 minutes after us got their food before I did. When my food did come, they messed up and gave me beans instead of rice. 4 out of 6 of our plates weren't right. It was a total disaster and the food wasn't good, neither was the drinks. I am extremely disappointed in this place. I don't recommend it at all!! Service, food, and drinks were horrible. read more

Nice find and was seated quickly and our server was prompt. Chips fresh and crisp, salsa was good. Try the Mezcal Dip; refried beans with seasoned beef and queso. Wife had the fajitas Jalisco which she enjoyed, flavored well and tender. I had the street tacos with rice and charro beans; charro beans good flavored with bacon , onions and other meat, rice tender and moist and the street tacos were good but in my opinion nowhere near the street tacos from Vendor trucks. Yuk..... please make sure your food is hot! They brought our cheese dip--it was not hot. Sent it back. They brought our food, it wasn't hot either. We asked our waiter to just re-heat our dinner. The Staff instead brought brand new dinners--they were not hot either. We decided to eat somewhere else, and Asked for the check to pay for the appetizers and the drinks. Oh boy, here came the manager all mad and full of attitude--he was ticked...The manager asked us what the problem was, and when we told him that our food was not hot, he said we should've told our server. Are you kidding? WE DID TELL THE SERVER--twice!!!! The Appetizer was cold-- we sent it back. My husband told the waiter that we wanted our food hot, then the entrée was cold, we sent both back....What part of we want our food hot that you all do not understand? I have lived in tahlequah for 3 years relocated here tried to find a good Mexican restaurant to go to I had found this restaurant and it's been pretty reasonable food service and price recently I went in they set me I ordered a margarita I ordered a chile relleno enchiladas came with refried beans and rice chips of course came with the meal I ordered a small guacamole for some reason this time the food came out cold had to send it back The enchiladas were the wrong ones so they had to bring me the right ones The guacamole tasted like they just took an avocado and chopped it up and smushed it there was no flavor to it really disappointing because normally the food is pretty decent and the service is really good The service was good still but the food I was disappointed in did not taste anything like what I had had in there before then when I went to check out come to find out that because you don't pay cash they add on an extra fee when you use your card why would you do that if you want to charge a little more because somebody's using a card just add a few cents you know nickels dimes quarters whatever to the menu items instead of faking and showing people all we don't care about you because you're using a credit card well when I found this out I was very disappointed with them The poor guy that served me was going to get a fairly good tip because this service was good after that I'm like nope I deducted from his tip just to pay the fee and and the fee shouldn't have been any problem I would not have cared if they would have added a little bit more to the menu price Don't sit there and throw me a loophole that because it cost you to use the machine that I should have to pay an extra fee then when I said something about it the woman points at a sign behind the counter nowhere else is there any mention of this until you go to check out and then this guy I don't know if he was the manager or what comes over and tries to explain to me that it's not them that it's the company I understand it's not the employees fault but they should have be putting the concern to the management that we need to fix this hopefully they will but I will probably not be back in there yeah I'm only one person but after a while one person adds up to a whole bunch of people put their foot down about this problem read more

We have been going to this restaurant for a couple of years. The service has always been pretty good and the food has been okay. The service has gone down lately. This past weekend came to a head. The service was terrible we could not even get some chips, they were literally crushed and they never replaced them. When our food was finally on the way out the server dropped it. I guess we went to the last in line for food. They never said anything, people came in got their food and left we still waited. When it finally came out it looked like they had scraped it off the floor. Everyone's food was cold and looked like slop. We left and will never go back. read more

I always take a similar approach the first time we dine at a Mexican restaurant- order enchiladas. The quality of the cheeses, the unique character of the sauces and seasoning of the dishes were simply superb. We chose to eat here due to the large # of cars in the lot and were impressed start to finish! Chile rellenos are house made not frozen, perfectly filled and seasoned. I ordered enchiladas supremas (beef, chicken, bean and cheese) and they were just supremely tasty, pardon the pun. I can't say I've ever had better outside of Mexico. Salsa is fresh, light and mild but the special hot salsa is indeed hot. The restaurant was immaculately clean and service was quick & attentive. I did not taste the food because the whole place stank like deodorizer. I don't understand restaurants that cover the smell of their (supposedly) delicious food with fake smelling chemical crap. They have the most rude waiters I've ever experienced. I've been there a couple times trying to be forgiving but tonight crossed the line. They think some people don't speak Spanish? For them to talk negatively about a customer is unforgivable. After being polite and nice. The El Molcajete is one of their best dishes! If you haven't tired it your missing out. It's so flavorful and filling. It's a massive dish so make sure you bring your appetite. It's so big my husband and I share it. For about $10 it feeds us both. Can't beat it. The staff is awesome we are treated like family. The owner is so out going and loves kids! Food, service, and price were all very, very good. The Enchiladas Cancun were incredible (one each chicken, crab, and shrimp) with queso, guacamole, and sour cream. The dining room is nothing to brag about (the only reason we didn't give five stars), and the dishes weren't quite hot enough for our tastes but they had some pepper sauce that fixed that. I just moved to town from Tucson Arizona and on a recommendation from a friend tried this place. Coming from southern Arizona I know a thing or two about Mexican food. The place was busy but we were seated right away. The waitstaff came over immediately and got our drinks and gave us our chips and salsa. The salsa I thought was pretty good. I had the Butito Americano. It's a burrito with chicken rice beans and sour cream then topped with the white cheese sauce. The overall taste was pretty good the only thing is the tortilla was a little chewy and tough to cut as if it were heated in the microwave. Overall average Mexican food in Tahlequah. read more

The staff was very nice, it was clean, and we were seated quickly. I wonder why? The salsa was puréed into a thin paste. And queso IS NOT part of the set-up. It was good but the chips weren't. They were fresh but they kinda seemed like bag chips. That's where my dining experience ended, based off of those clues I decided not to waste money for any more food. The rest of my party foolishly continued to order. I don't remember exactly who had what, but they got nothing out of the ordinary: enchiladas, tamales etc. One out of 5 liked their food. The one who did, didn't clean the plate. One girl with tamales tasted her meal and told the wait staff it wasn't good and he basically said we should have told him as soon as we got it, even though he never came around. The worst part was when we went back to our river encampment. Everyone had indigestion and gas. In the tent I kept getting awoken by farts from sleeping sick bodies.
