This is a good spot to try in Locust Grove. It's consistently tasty and fast service. They have good lunch specials. And they added a beautiful outside patio. It's your average Tex-mex food, but I enjoy it every once in a while. read more

Whole place smelled like beans. And food wasn't good. Service was mid. The chips the dip had no flavor. Don't eat what the server suggests.

I spotted a meal I had to try, "Carnitas al Limon." It is described on the menu as "Shredded pork grilled with spicy sauce, onion and lime juice. Served with rice, ranchero beans, tortillas and lime wedges." Doesn't that sound good? It was a new meal to me and it appears it was a new meal to the cook also. The meal delivered to the table somewhat resembled the description. I pointed out to the waitress that the meal was to have ranchero beans, refried beans were on the plate. She went to the kitchen and brought a small bowl of rancho beans. Had I known they were so bad I would have skipped them. The tasteless refried beans were no better. No tortillas. The Carnitas had not been grilled to a crisp outer texture as they should be before serving. There was no grilled onion on the plate. It was just roast pork that had been covered in a mild orange colored sauce. Not Carnitas, but the unseasoned roast pork under the sauce, was very good, tender juicy and there was a lot of it. It seemed obvious that the cook didn't have a clue how to make Carnitas al Limon. He or she gave it their best try. It is very likely this was the first time this meal had been ordered in the restaurant. My wife had the Enchiladas Mexicana. One Chicken with green sauce, one cheese with cheese sauce and one beef with red sauce. They were done right. The red and green sauces tasted as if they were freshly made from scratch. The red sauce was real red chili sauce, not tomato sauce. The ground beef in the enchilada was well seasoned. Tasteless refried beans on the side and a dollop of prepackaged factory-made guacamole. If you do eat here, this is your best option. The salsas were bland, the chips were stale and turning dark from being over heated or reheated too many times. The restaurant was typical small town brightly colored Mexican themed decor. The food is a mixture of some good and some poorly prepared authentic Mexican food. Service is adequate. And then there is the credit card fee. The receipt stated that I could have saved $1.19 if I would have paid in cash. Thanks for letting me know. I reduced the tip by $1.19. We are square. read more

We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. The place was crowded but we got seated quickly. Madison was our server and she was Excellent! They quickly brought out chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh and had just a little kick I ordered street tacos and my wife ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla. Both were very good and brought to the table fast. Overall it was very good and we would come back! read more

I stopped by here while in the area and got a Michelada and some street tacos. They were both good with quick friendly service and decent prices. The salsa that comes with the chips is pretty basic but the salsa that comes with the tacos is awesome! read more

We stopped here for a road lunch on our way back from Eureka Springs, we we're headed to a Subway and saw it was actually a gas station, so we rolled the dice on this random Mexican restaurant. We didn't even read the reviews prior, just went in blind. The food was good, typical with what you would find in a Midwest town. The place was very busy, but our food was timely, beer was cold, and we never waited on anything from our waitress. They we're out of tamales, but no big deal there, they're time intensive to make. Never. Again. To begin with we waited forever to have our order taken, then had to ask about our food after waiting 45 mins. She said it was "being plated hot right now." The rice was cold and our entree was incorrect. I told 2 different staff members that we received the wrong thing and they chose to not do anything about it. This is usually our favorite chip and drink place to go to with our kiddos because it's convenient and close to home. We usually get good service and great food-the other day we did not. They missed my childs beans and rice with her kids meal, we had no silverware or napkins on the table, when I asked for a spoon, I got a silverware roll with no spoon, had to ask again for a spoon and got one you could stir a margarita pitcher with but handed to a 3 yo (we just took her food home). We were perplexed-so we asked to see the manager, my husband explained and asked what happened-the owner came out and told him "well there's other places in town to eat". Horrible! Food wasn't good. Waited 3x as long as those who came after my party. Cant help but wonder if becuz our party was diverse. The order was wrong and then we were informed that they were out of what we ordered. They didn't know how to make a Shirley Temple & when I told them how they didn't have ingredients for that either. Then the charges were wrong. The manager threatened me to deal with me outside, got in my face and then wanted to charge for the to-go drinks. Hope it goes out of business. read more

The wait was long and food wasn't good. I found lots of hair in my enchiladas. Also we were charged 5$ each for our TO GO drinks. The staff was also incompetent and manager of the store was not polite and talked nasty at us in spanish, he made us leave with no compensation . I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Well for starters . The food is just decent. And the service.... ehh.. It's ok. It's a given, no matter what you order, how you order, or when you order.. they will ALWAYS get either your meal or someone at your tables meal wrong. I've eaten there and called in a lot (being the only Mexican place in town) and they have always gotten something wrong on our order. Its gotten to where its almost kind of comical. Except for the day i ordered my 3yo a kids cheese burger and they but japenos on it. The first bite and my child started screaming. And all the waiter had to say was "they come that way" . Really?? A kids burger comes with jalpenos ?? The chips are usually either stale or burnt. And the salsa is never the same. Would I recommend to someone? Probably not. Unless you want to drive an extra few miles to a different town to eat Mexican food, this will have to do the trick. read more

It gets two stars for the excellent servers we had, but the meals were gross, as well as overpriced. The shrimp was stale, the same with the chips. For some reason, the cooks thought an excessive amount of velveeta cheese belonged with steak, rice, and shrimp. I won't be going there again. read more
