Tacos and micheladas yo.

I recommend the tacos de tripa, asada, and cabeza. I've come here multiple times and various times of the day (busy and slow) and I have never had a problem with the service. The service was prompt and polite. The cocktail list is worth exploring. Overall, a great place for tacos. I also had the pleasure of hanging for karaoke and I had fun. The night I went, there were plenty of people, the food was prompt and polite. I had a soda water "preparada" and it was splashed with lime and served with a tajin rim. I honestly don't know what other folks are complaining about? I think is is a great place for tacos and molcajetes.

Most AUTHENTIC Mexican food that we've had this side of the Mississippi. It's great to have a taste of home.

As a native born Texican, I'm always a little wary of Tex Mex places around here...as Lyle Lovett…read morefamously stated, never eat Mexican food east of the Mississippi or north of Dallas. Words that I've lived by my entire life. But being a Tex-pat here in NoVA has had me exploring...and El Paso has been a restaurant that I keep coming back to. I've never been to this location before, but another app had mentioned that it was 3.4mi from my work, so I figured I'd try it out...I've been having a hankering for enchiladas this week and figured I'd scratch that itch. Since it's Friday, I decided to try the Enchiladas Rancheras, described as 2 cheese enchiladas topped with beef or chicken, served with lettuce, a tomato (not needed, I will omit this next time), sour cream and a side of rice and beans. Sounded perfect! I paired it with a bowl of queso and a water, because I'm still on the clock, otherwise it would have been a cold Modelo or swirl margarita. What was brought out to me was not lunch, but a time machine...taking me back to my college days and a meal that I've been chasing for over 20 years. The beef was stewed and tender, and paired with the cheese enchiladas it reminded me of hitting up Taco Cabana after the bars, ordering a carne guisada and a side of queso, mixing it all up together and diving in with chips. I wasn't planning on inhaling the whole plate (and queso too) but I did and even though I am in gastric pain, I do not regret my decision. Even though I'm sure I looked the fool, I closed my eyes while eating it and I was back there in College Station at 2:30am, listening to Cross Canadian Ragweed and having my whole life ahead of me. The food was THAT good...it actually took me back in time. The service was also excellent and attentive, and I wish I had the bravery to go back into the kitchen and shake everyone's hands. I will be coming back, I will be ordering it again (sans tomato) and I will be putting myself into a food coma once again. If you're looking for delicious Tex Mex food in the area, as a native Texan and a descendent of the Old Three Hundred, I highly recommend El Paso...they're a little bit of home right here in Northern Virginia.

However, once inside, my experience was much better than expected. The food arrived hot, was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. My only concern was the service. I had to repeatedly ask for the waitress to return to our table to check on us and provide additional items we needed. Aside from that, the food quality and value made for an enjoyable dining experience.

I posted a photo from an earlier review, where you can see how full the bowl was with seafood. It had scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams and salmon, and was absolutely jampacked and unexpectedly delicious. I stopped today with my sister, on a drive between Richmond and Philadelphia. Though the menu stated everything should've been there but the scallops, there were only 2 clams, no mussels, a smaller piece of salmon and much less seafood in it. The price had not increased much, but the portion size was certainly reduced. Even the rice served with it was a smaller portion. Take note of the photo from today. Don't get me wrong, the broth is still good, though the shrimp was overcooked, likely from being in the steaming broth a little long. I still enjoyed it, but it was noticeably lacking items. There were no mussels, and while we were told that mussels were not good right now, they had not been replaced by anything else. For $27, I don't know that I would get it again in its present form. Leaving both the scallops and mussels off, with less than half the salmon portion size, I felt deceived. Both from what the menu said and what my previous experiences were here. So it was disappointing.
