They have good food. We have only had one bad experience with the wait staff...hopefully he's no longer there. Last time we were there was his first day. He totally screwed up our order, three times, and my wife never got what she ordered. She was starving and finally just ate what was brought out. Their banana burritos are my wife's favorite! I absolutely love this place. ..they have anything you want including Mexican street tacos.. (not on the menu but request pork with onion and cilantro=heaven) great service. Went there with a friend on july 13 18 great service awesome food ..server was great ,till I ordered a plate to go and I should have looked at it before we left ...i order a beef fajita for one ,,with only peppers and onions rice and pinto beans chips and salsa,,,when i got home about 45 minutes away..on fajita wraps no chips and salsa and the meat and onions and peppers were dry look like it had been set to the side ...just a little disappointed.. read more

Best Mexican food within at least an hour. It may be in a small town, it may be in an odd spot, but we would drive 30 minutes passing a lot of other Mexican places just to eat here. We eat Mexican all over the place in SC, GA, NC, and even as far away as Cabo San Lucas but we put this place in our top 3 overall. read more

We are BIG fans of Mexican food and this place is one of our usual spots. We will order two Julie's specials or fajitas for two and split it with our two small kids and it's plenty of food. Service is okay. We seem to get the same two waiters each time we are there and no complaints there. We wished they would have fresh guacamole instead of what taste to come out of a container and completely bland. We prefer fresh guacamole. That's why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. read more

I have to be very honest, anyone saying this is "authentic" Mexican food has NOT had authentic Mexican food... But having one half of my family being from Mexico, I have and this is NOT authentic. On the other hand, it IS good food, and I think it would be very difficult to have a truly authentic Mexican restaurant and be successful in Clover. The food is good, the portions are good, the service was good as well and we loved the Mango & Strawberry juices. Those were delish. So all in all, it was good. Not positive we'll be back, as it's hard to eat out for Mexican food when you can get the real deal at home, but if you're looking for a decent meal at a clean restaurant with great drinks, we'd recommend it. read more

I am going to make this simple. Arrived and was waiting for service, 2 other couples arrived about 4 minutes behind us. They were brought chips and salsa then our chips arrived. We asked for salsa. Other 2 couples order we are still waiting on salsa. Waitress returns for order no salsa. We order and ask again. Other couples get their food we are still waiting on salsa. Food comes with salsa. Other 2 couples have paid and left. I ordered a Taco salad with beef. No beef in it. Wife ordered burrito special which was dried up and no sauce on it just a burrito and rice. This is the clincher. We left and paying the bill and was asked how was it. I said terrible. He never looked up and gave me my change. read more

After being met at the front of the restaurant by no one, we were finally shown to our table. Unfortunately, the host threw the menus on a table and stormed off to the kitchen. When I commented about his behavior, the waitress said "That's just him." I have thankfully NEVER been treated this way at a restaurant. I asked (to no one since we were left alone) could I see a manager and no one came out. We left and ate somewhere else. I would like to say that this is the first time I've received bad service at this place but it's not true. Do not go eat at this restaurant unless you expect bad service and so so food. read more

I was not a fan. The service was prompt and friendly. The chips and salsa were good but not great. The mild sauce was very bland but the hotter sauce did have a nice flavor. I ordered a combination plate and everything tasted the same. It reminded me of a frozen mexican meal. It was not worth a return trip unfortunately. read more

Considering that it is in a very small town, I was impressed with the food. The salsa's delivered to the table were not the typical tomato juice over loaded with cilantro. I had the Enchilada Supreme dinner and was quite surprised to see that the ranchero sauce it was served with was fresh made and NOT from a can. Overall the food was very good, the service... not so great. Waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order after arriving, then only saw a server once and had to ask for the check. Once the bill was in hand, I could have walked out the door without paying since there was no one there to prevent it. Had to wait another five minutes just to pay the tab. Top that off with the attitude of the cashier that they were doing me a favor by taking payment. The food is great... the service sucks. read more

Very disappointed in their service. My husband and I went there tonight for dinner. We were seated right away, handed menus and chips and were then ignored. We waited more than 10 minutes for someone to come and ask us what we wanted to drink before we finally just got up and walked out! We would have been more understanding except after 5 minutes a waitress walked by and asked if we had been helped; when I said no, she said, "Oh, I'll be right with you," and then she promptly forgot as she walked past us several more times to ask other people (who came in after us) what they wanted. The manager stood with his hands in his pockets for most of the time doing nothing. The final straw was when the hostess walked by us on the way to fill up her own drink and then went back to stand against the wall drinking it while waiting for more customers to come in. I get that restaurants are busy on a Saturday night (I've worked in many during my life), but for people who work there (especially a manager) to be standing around doing nothing and can't even be bothered to take a drink order, is unacceptable! We left and went to On the Boarder in Gastonia. (It was even busier there, but they at least took our drink orders in less than 10 minutes -- actually we got our drinks in less than 10 minutes) read more

My wife & I have enjoyed this restaurant as our " date night " destination for the last couple of months. After our Sunday visit this evening, We will not be returning. Server took our drink order, app order ( shrimp soup) & entree order. Drinks came shortly before dinner, different server brought meals in alternating order. Needed water w/ meal, could not get anyone's attention. Asked for check after eating, then I was told " Sorry about the soup, they got your food up so fast , I didn't bring it & would remove from check." Nice! Asked for to-go box, server dropped stack on floor, offered us on out of the middle. Went up to pay check, gentleman receiving payment stuck his hand for our bill w/out speaking, while talking w/ others. I asked if he was manager, replied yes. Informed him as mgr, it was really appropriate to ask your customer how everything was & informed him that it was disappointing. He did offer to remove items we did not receive from check. Informed him I wasn't looking for a discount, just the normal service we had received in past. Paid bill & let him know we would not be returning. Came back back in to retrieve item left @ table. Got smart ass smirk from server. Added bonus when I just snacked on my to go box, a plastic meat casing & metal crimp clip to bite down on. Staff should stop playing grab ass & yacking w/ each other . No es bueno un absoluto. read more
