Passing through and stopped here for supper. The service is amazing!! The chips are fresh and warm. The salsa is plain and boring, dr it up with some salt and pepper and maybe a little of the Valentina that's on the table, but if you ask for some spicy salsa they have it and it's very good and flavorful but they will charge you for it. The cheese dip is good. The flour tortillas are a bit thick. The rice was not real fresh or maybe just been sitting. It was just real dry. The El Patron was ok but be aware they barely put any cheese on it even tho the description says covered in cheese. . I will say this place is average and I would come back but it wouldn't be a favorite. read more

After a morning of touring different places, I was getting hangry. This was across the street from the last place I visited, so it was an easy decision to make. We tried this place for the first time today. Let me tell you it want be the last. The food was so delicious and the waitress very fantastic. The atmosphere was wonderful as well. Hands down the best hot tamales I have had in a very long time. Great job to all the staff for doing a fantastic job. My husband got a shrimp dish that was loaded with shrimp that was so good. A hostess seats you upon walking in. We waited close to 10 minutes to be seated. Numerous waitresses walked past and never said a word. Such as "someone will be with you ASAP or in a few minutes". Even after being seated it took a good while before our server came. The staff appeared to be working very hard. Maybe understaffed. Service was poor time wise but the staff was friendly and did bring anything you needed. Food was fair. Not bad but not great either. Portions were very generous and affordable. For four of us it was $52 and we all ate until stuffed and still had food left. Interior of restaurant was clean. Does have some wear and tear but overall clean and festive. read more

Eh. It's not great, but it's not the worst. They have a mondo burrito that's pretty good. Fajitas were 10% meat & 90% onion & pepper. Chips & salsa are quite tasty. We popped in valentines evening with a group of 6. I think they were getting ready to close within the hour. It was pretty dead. Don't have any idea how their food tastes as we never got that far. Yes, it is Cinco de Mayo and yes they are slammed, but be honest about wait times. Don't say it will be fifteen minutes when you know it will be 45 or more. Had a grandson who needed to get to work. Poor management. read more

I found this place by accident and since have been back twice. I've always found it difficult to find good places to eat in picayune. This place is hidden behind a building and next to an abandoned warehouse. They do a very reasonably priced lunch menu and the food is good and arrives quickly. The only thing I found lacking was that i couldn't get margarita :-( but that's because they were waiting on a liquor license. If your in the area this place is worth a visit. read more

Much to my delight they crushed it. Enchiladas were on point. Got the enchiladas mexicana. Got two with al pastor and two with bistec. Not soggy and saturated. They are using Queso Bravo or white slow melt white cheese which is always delicious but can be a bit heavy for the traditional cheddar cheese lover. Salsa was crisp and fresh. Chips hot and crispy. Diet Coke was crisp and refreshing. Men's bathroom clean and stocked with Cintas soap and paper towels. As an executive chef I am hard to impress especially with my experience in authentic Mexican cuisine from my time in Oaxaca, Tamaulipas, Tijuana, Durango, Michoacán and all southern borders. They did an exceptional job. Bill was $27.00 and we tipped the server $17.00. It was her 26th birthday today. She was attentive, checked on us twice, came and let me know that our food would be out in 5-7 minutes and she was exactly correct. My said paper towel dispenser in women's restroom was jammed up but she made due. Her sweet tea was perfect. Our food hot n fresh. She had the chicken fajita burrito and it was nice too. Lacked salt but we added salt and some of their fresh red salsa and it was perfect. My only complaint is that I feel every single plate deserves fresh lime wedges and some crisp thin sliced radish. Maybe some fresh cilantro for garnish. But overall food was great. Service was great. As a lover of enchiladas I can tell you that they did it better than almost all of their competitors in the southern states. I'll be back soon. We live just on the other side of the Mississippi boarder in Slidell Louisiana which is a short drive and well worth if they can deliver the same quality next time. See ya next week. Went in for an early lunch. It wss clean service was prompt and courteous. Salsa was mediocre, food (fajitas)was lacking flavour but at least hot. Definitely catering to the local population. So to sum it up not the worst but definitely no where close to the best Mexican I've had. read more
