I came here all the way from Broadway and Pantano to try their food and I stood in line for 10 minutes and was ignored. I even made eye contact with the man cooking and he didn't wave at me he didn't say a word to me just ignored me I felt really stupid cuz I could hear people that were eating say something about me getting ignored and it was just really embarrassing. I finally just walked away and got in my van to drive away but after deciding maybe I was overthinking it I walked back and stood where it says to stand to place your order and again I'm completely ignored. I'm standing there looking stupid I'm fidgeting I'm acting like I'm reading the menu again and then I just stand a little further back so the one cooking has to look at me if he looks up and not once does he tell me to hold on a second or ask me about my order or anything I'm completely ignored again. I gave it 5 more minutes and 5 minutes of feeling stupid and being ignored is a really long time. I won't go there again to try their food. And if anybody else asks me I won't recommend them either because their customer service was so horrible right now that I will not ever try them again. Shame on you guys! read more

I had a Cabeza and grilled steak taco and Matt had a cheese quesadilla because it was Friday and he couldn't eat meat. I asked for cheese in the tacos and no cabbage. When the tacos came, they had burned cheese on top of the tacos instead of inside as I requested. The tacos were very tasty even with the cheese problem. They were spicy enough where I didn't have to add any hot sauce to them ( which is unusual because most tacos from other food trucks need hot sauce). Matt's quesadilla was loaded with cheese and melted into a gooey mess. He added some hot sauce and said it was delicious. They had a covered cement patio with tables and chairs. They had some tarps to protect against the wind. The tables were very clean. The one thing I didn't like about the place was they didn't post the prices on the menu (most food trucks have them posted in the menu). The tacos were $3.50 each with a dollar surcharge for the cheese, which was a little bit higher than other food trucks. The quesadilla was $7.50. It was cold raining and windy day so we ate in the car. This was an average meal and if you are in the area it would make a nice lunch spot. read more

This is an oldie but goodie. I got an Al pastor and carne asada tacos and two Sonoran dogs. Came out to $14. The tacos are always good. It's a friendly place with lots of seating. They gave me lime and cucumber to go. I do wish I had pico or something else to put on it but I don't remember feeling like it needed anything last time I came. I feel maybe it wasn't as good as last time but I can't put my finger on it. The Sonoran dogs from here are usually my favorite but this time around they just didn't hit. It's probably been about 6 months since I've been here. I did go when it was 40 minutes from closing so maybe that was the issue. This spot is as legit as it gets. It's literally like you are in Mexico at a stand. We got the carne asada. Al pastor. And torito chiles. All authentic flavor. Super fast cheap-ish eats from two food trucks in a gravel parking lot on the corner of 36th and Park. The first Sonoran hot dog I've ever had - and it won't be my last! I learned that a Sonoran hot dog is bacon wrapped with crema (sour cream), beans, and pico de gallo. Heaven on soft, spongy, fresh bread. Salsa is optional for me but my husband asked for their hottest one and it delivered with a smoky heat that complimented the hot dog and the tacos de tripas we also tried. I looked over and saw that there was a pretty decent sized group of people eating in this little lot. As a result, I decided to pull over and have some Sonoran dogs. They were delicious!!! I haven't been here in over a year since moving to Colorado, call it nostalgia, but Jesús Cristo do I miss this place. The carne is exactly how it should be, smoky, tender and a hint of marinade (preparada). The crown jewel of Manantial is the beloved hot dog sonorense... oh god of misfortune, why can't these be found where I live? The buns are grilled, the bacon is perfectly cooked, not too crispy or chewy, toppings are, well, numerous. Never trust a Sonoran dog place that doesn't have mushrooms or cucumbers. The salsas are all great from mild to spicy. By far, the best part is the free chile. It's the standard yellow kind, but stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon. How they pull this off as a free compliment to an already underpriced dog (or at least used to be) I will never know, nor question. I only found out about this place because I have a friend who is a police officer on the South side, and he knew about it because it was close to a crack house they raided. Prepare yourself for South Tucson, high crime, high quality food, that's just how it is, deal with it. Don't look anyone in the eyes, speak as much Spanish as you are capable of and tip well.
