The prices are a little higher than most Mexican places I have visited. However, the portions are generous and the quality of the food is excellent. I also had the top shelf Margarita and it was great too. It cost 12.99, but they were running a 10% off special for it. The service was also good. The decor is odd for a Mexican place with rustic chairs and tables that would be at home in a country themed restaurant. There was a light fixture that gave Vegas vibes . Overall we had a great experience, but found it pricey compared to similar restaurants.

We stopped in for dinner from being on the road for most of the day. Greeted right away and seated immediately. Food was very good and served lightening fast. Our server was attentive and friendly which matters! I'd recommend to anyone who is looking for authentic Mexican food.

Service was amazing, from the greeting as I entered to the final bill. Ordered the house Margarita on the rocks, a bit sweet, but tasty. Next received chips and salsa. Ordered queso dip small, very liquid, would have liked it a bit more thick and smooth. Finally, had the Steak Street tacos on flour tortillas, absolutely tasty. Side of black beans also got the spot. Very nicely decorated, clean, and classy. Pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended.

Tonight we celebrated my mother in laws birthday and had never visited El Maguey before. We were pleasantly surprised. This restaurant sits in a small shopping strip that I've passed by many times but never really paid much attention to what was in it. Upon our arrival, we walked into a very welcoming and inviting atmosphere and were immediately seated. The restaurant was very nice and tidy, the waiters were very helpful and informative of the menu. I had the Burrito Al Carbon which included shrimp, chicken, sautéed onions, queso and salsa. I hope I'm not leaving anything out. It was delicious. We also had a large bowl of queso to share with the family. Their drinks are served in mini pitchers which my husband was happy about. We will definitely return!

I love this place so much! I discovered it with my daughter and mom and have recommended all my friends here! My fiancé even proposed to me there because I made my profile pic from there on the dating app we met on. Every time I eat here, I get pics with who is with me by was I call Mr. Jalapeño. The food is amazing, service is awesome and the people are so friendly.

This is our preferred spot for Mexican food. The food is great and the restaurant is always clean. We went on a Saturday and they had live music that wasn't overwhelming (acoustic guitar), I also couldn't believe how great the staff was at singing happy birthday - a band came out with a violin and guitar to sing to a few birthday tables. My kids love the games they have (tic tac toe, connect 4, cornhole) though we never have to wait for a table. My husband got the steak fajitas and it was mostly meat - not peppers and onions like some restaurants. We always enjoy ourselves when we eat here.

Great food, the atmosphere is excellent and the restaurant itself is beautiful inside and the back patio was awesome too.

Just passing through and close to hotel. Food was very good and margaritas definitely had a kick. Would come back if I pass through again.

Me and my oldest daughter came in here for a daddy daughter date for lunch on a Sunday around noon. We were seated immediately and greeted with friendly workers. Like most traditional Mexican eateries they start you off with complimentary chips and salsa. Which is always a plus. There chips and salsa were very tasty and the salads had a good flavor. Very similar flavor to another local favorite chain el nopal. For our entrees me and my daughter got something similar. I got the Pollo Feliz and she got the Fiesta Bonita. Whixh both consist of chicken, rice and cheese sauce. Only difference is hers also had shrimp and mine came with tortillas and refried beans. They both cost exactly the same so it's a push on price wise. We both liked our meals quite a bit. I took my tortillas and made 3 burritos and still had chicken cheese and rice left over to eat. So it's good portion size. Chicken had good flavor and unlike some places they do not skimp put on the cheese. My daughter also shared similar sentiments. She liked her meal a lot. So both good plates. Overall we had a nice time. Quick, accurate and tasty service. Indoors was pretty large and had a nice vibe. They had a tasty liking dessert menu but we was in a hurry on this trip as we had a recital to get to soon. So maybe next time we go we will sample the dessert menu.

Such is the case last Friday when we wanted a break from the several Mexican eateries close to home. A 20 minute drive to Preston Highway and there we were. We've been here several times before and have never been disappointed. On this particular Friday we were seated immediately and started perusing the menu. El Acapulco has a very sizable menu with vegetarian and meat-o-saurus options ad-infinitum. On previous visits I've had enchiladas of some sort and this time just. plain. tacos sounded good. My eyes spotted the Quesa-Tacos and I was intrigued. Melted cheese between corn tortillas, then filled with a protein and covered with cilantro and onion?!?!? SOUNDS SUPERB. My selections were birria, chorizo, and carne asada. More on that later. El Acapulco is much larger inside than it appears to be on the outside. I don't know what it was before it became El Acapulco, but it's huge! Open ceiling with exposed rafters give it a very open feel. There are a number of screen scattered around the with current news playing, and the background music isn't overwhelming. The staff is busy hustling, 100% of the time. It's always been clean and well-maintained. About ten minutes later our food arrived. I anxiously awaited my Quesa-Tacos and you can see by my photo that I was not disappointed! I've eaten a lot of tacos in a lot of restaurants, but these were, hands-down, some of the absolute best. The tortillas appeared to be slightly grilled on each side to melt the cheese between the layers...and It. Was. Amazeballs. When I was done I was kinda sad that they were gone. I was at once happy and sad. That doesn't happen too often. I'm the kind of person who finds one thing he REALLY likes at a restaurant and largely stays with it. I think the Quesa-Tacos and I are going to be come really good friends.
