This place was exactly what we hoped it would be! We walked down from our hotel and found it by chance... And also by reading yelp reviews. The food was delicious and the service fantastic. Highly recommend!

At the time of day we went, it was one of the only places open. The drinks were delicious, service was fantastic and food was on point!

If you're looking for an unforgettable fried whole fish and a place with truly great food, this spot is a must-visit. The fish comes out perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, and seasoned just right -- you can tell it's made fresh and with care. It's the kind of dish that instantly becomes your new favorite. We also had the parcha mojito which was also a great choice and the fried dorado fish fingers for appetizer the most fresh tasting we've ever had. Truly recommend if you are in La parguera.

It had been over a decade since I visited El Karakol. Conveniently located and with parking nearby, if you can find a spot on busy nights. The service from our waitress was great - she was attentive and checked on our party of 4 often. Their sangria tastes great and you get it in a small souvenir cup. I loved my mofongo relleno de churrasco. On this evening, the air conditioning was full force, so feel free to bring something to cover if you get cold. Will return.

Ambiance was great and it's probably the only restaurant and bar with A/C if that's what you would like. Service was good. Food was excellent. I had the mofongo worth shrimp in creole sauce. Our group had a variety of seafood dishes from their menu and everyone was happy with their meal. I also had a sangria which they are known for and it was smooth and refreshing.

Service was horrible. We got here and noticed a sign that said to wait to be seated. We waited for about 15 minutes. Now I should also mention that it was 5 of us. After 15 minutes the bartender who has made eye contact with me multiple times asked if we needed a table. "No! I just like going to restaurants to stand around just for fun" ‍ I should also mention that the waitresses also walked by us multiple times. There was only 1 family at a table waiting for their dinner and we were the only other people in there. We sit down and the waiter comes 5 minutes later. Takes our drink and appetizer order. 20 minutes go by and then she comes to take our food order. It took 30 minutes for our little appetizer to get to the table. Unfortunately it was already cold. Food comes out 30 minutes later. I ordered the risotto which was very undercooked. My son ordered the Churrasco steak which I'm sure was cooked on the same flat top grill they cook the fish because it tasted just like fish. The burgers too. I ordered sweet plantains that were also undercooked. Unfortunately I would never recommend this place. Sucks because we come to the island a lot on vacation and for work and like visiting the local restaurants but my honest opinion is don't eat here. Mojitos we're good but that's the only positive thing I can say about the place. Unfortunately Yelp doesn't let me give a review without any stars if not I would give this place zero stars. Not much to say about the ambiance.

We stopped in here to enjoy their famous mojitos and were definitely not disappointed. The pineapple mojitos were excellent with a good helping of rum and nice chunks of pineapples. We were disappointed that they were completely out of tortillas so no tacos and then we tried to order burgers but they were out of buns. Carb shortage? Instead, the offered to make us burgers with bread like a burger sandwich and these came out tasty. Service was nice and relatively speedy. I'd definitely come back note it's a little hard to find this place because it's not actually on a street street, it's like tucked behind the street on like a walkway. Bathroom was decent.

The food here was excellent. I ordered the chillo frito (whole fried snapper) and it came cooked to perfection. The restaurant gets packed and its a really good place for hanging out. They have very good sangrias and various styles of mojito. The plate sizes were a little too big (not the dish, but the actual plates) so it was kinda difficult to share the table. The service was very good until it was time to order the check, the lady literally disappeared. Otherwise great food and ambience.

I found the menu to be a bit pricey for a beach restaurant, but that being said, the food was excellent. the staff was very friendly and accommodating We had the fresh whole snapper and other seafood selections as well as the typical PR fried foods like Tostones and Sorrullos. The fried food tasted great. it did not have that "old fry oil" taste at all. It was super fresh and all well prepared. The only other knock on it was the limited beer selections. PR now has all types of craft breweries on the island. Too bad they don't feature some of them on the menu. Definitely eat here if you want a good meal.

We had a great time. We had the fried fish with rice and we had the sangria and the parcha mojito

Small restaurant at "La Parguera" in Lajas, PR. They make the best mojitos.. omg - the coconut mojito was super. We just went there for a few drinks and a couple of appetizers. The fish bites were awesome. Fresh fish, flash fried.. yumm. The octopus salad was really good as well. The restaurant is small - just about 10 tables inside and a few outside. Waiter was super fun and answered all our questions.

Well, it was the right choice for sure. We wanted to go tapas since by then (day 6), we were acclimated with the heaviness of Puerto Rican meals in general (carbs and fried foods), so we didn't order the mofongos. Jose was our server and he seated us promptly near the corner. ORDER their mojitos! I really enjoyed mine - full of mint leaves and strong rum. My wife also enjoyed her virgin pina colada which was refreshing. Tempura shrimp in sweet chili sauce ($11, App, 4/5) - Generous portion, slightly too sweet for us but had great juicy shrimp w/ shrimp taste. Jalapeno and Cream Cheese Poppers ($8, App, 4/5) - Loaded w/ cream cheese but no actual jalapeno peppers really (slight disappointment), it still was enjoyable to eat due to nice crispy texture, jalapeno taste, and the delectable guava sauce Empanadillas del dia ($3.50, App, 3/5) - It was chicken that day and chicken was not too dry though amount of the filling left a bit to be desired. It's pretty big & filling, so watch out. Fish Tacos ($10, Entree, 5/5) - One of the best fish tacos I've ever had. Fish bites were fresh, crispy and light, paired against good amount of sour relishes and green leaf on a warm tortilla. Also there were THREE of them! (I think the first fish tacos I've ever ordered that came as 3, not 2!) We ordered this after finishing our 3 tapas because we were still slightly "not full", but man these packed quite the punch and we were STUFFED SILLY after these for sure. Wow, some delicious business here. Btw, Jose's service was really excellent. He was super attentive, checking up on us just the right amount of times, and even went outside to take picture for us with the signs after our meal. He made our dinner experience that much more pleasant. Moons Bar & Tapas really delivers with overall consistent taste & quality. I won't hesitate to stop by next time for their mofongos!
