I know nothing about the scene in San Jose, but I'm betting it's the only biker rock and roll bar in the city, maybe even the only rock bar. But don't be intimidated by being a biker bar in a dark, warehouse area by the docks, it is a very friendly, chill place, where everyone seems to know each other and party together. Heavy metal seems to the main genre here, but one band was an 80s 90s pop cover band. I enjoyed 2 meals from the little but good quality kitchen, including the Papa's Loco, good bar food. I also splurged on the steak sandwich, it was good, but I'd probably just stick to a hamburger next time.

For example, Thursday night they wanted a $45 minimum for a seat inside, or $25 minimum to sit at the tables just outside the bar. I was one person and had already eaten dinner so I just wanted to sit for a single drink. The next day, Friday, there was no minimum and the bar was much more packed and lively! They always have live music playing anything from salsa to merengue to bachata and even disco. The bartender was also very nice and even though she didnt know how to make a cocktail I requested, she happily made it after I googled the recipe.

I finally had the chance to try escargot for the first time--and now I feel completely spoiled for life. If that was my introduction, the bar has officially been set sky high. Even the Caesar salad stood out--crisp, balanced, and done exactly right (which is rarer than it should be). But the real star of the show for me? The guava and cheese bread pudding. I'm not exaggerating when I say I would 100% pay to have that Ubered all the way to me in Miami. It was that good. The food was extremely fresh and flavorful -- I wish we had time to go back. Service was amazing -- we were the only ones there for a bit and they gave us our space but checked on us consistently. They also happily stored our luggage in one of the corners (we were very grateful) so we could eat in peace.

I felt like it made more sense to have fewer pools but, bigger to fit more people but, we were comfortable in each. The beach is beautiful and every day there were plenty of surfers riding the high tide waves. It wasn't the best beach for swimming since the tide was so high and waves were really strong but, lifeguards are on the property to help those who have trouble getting in and out. We stayed close to shore to prevent any accidents and enjoyed watching surfers ride the waves each day.
