Excellent world class service with out of the world cocktails with unbelievable low prices. Food was ok- I've had much better Japanese fusion restaurants in Southwest United States (like Ra Sushi, Sushi Roku! Ambiance: Very modern decor, upbeat with music videos playing in the background. It was not just on a Thursday night (less than 50% occupancy) Food: Our friend recommended the Omakase, which was not on their menu. I don't think the staff that night quite knew how to present this. They started with nigiri. I have to say- after having my rice fall apart 2 times, I was starting to get agitated. Sushi rice should not crumble. Our fish pieces were OK- mediocre, not the freshest. Toro is not the fattiest. I put an immediate end to the Omakase when the sushi chef brought out my King crab nigiri and the rice fell off before reaching my plate and he took the crab back and put more rice underneath. The crab by the way, was frozen and he torched it to thaw it and squeezed it 4 times to get the liquids out. This Omakase experience was a 2 out if 5, sadly. We ordered the spicy sashimi platter with lemon pepper seasoning after and it was good. The teppanyaki with ribeye was also very good. I think the food would've been better if we ordered a La carte. Service: We give the service 6 out of 5!!! It was the best part of the night, they went above and beyond to try to give us the best experience. I truly felt bad asking the Omakase to end. The drinks were made in front of us on cocktail carts. Truly the most memorable drink experience at a restaurant. I won't fault this restaurant for not getting the nigiri right for the attempted Omakase- it was not on their menu that night. They tried and I don't think they were well prepared. Everything else is great. I would come back for rolls, teppanyaki and cocktails!!

It's in a trendy area and upscale although we came dressed mor casual. It's on the second floor and has amazing ambiance. We ordered the dynamite roll, crispy spicy tuna, truffle salmon, miso soups, caterpillar roll and tuna truffle roll. The truffle roll has to be one of the most amazing rolls I've ever eaten, if you like truffle of course. Everything else was amazing as well. The dynamite roll was great and I highly recommend literally everything we had. They also have great drinks, we had a mexcal maracuja drink and lychee martini as well as hot sake. For dessert we chose the tres leche cake and the truffle ice cream cream brûlée. If I say I have never tastes anything as amazing probably almost in my life as this truffle ice cream!! I know if we would have gone to a restaurant of this magnitude in the states it would have cost double of what we paid here. The service was excellent and Samuel and everyone was so attentive.

Wrong, the food was great, beautiful people seated everywhere and friendly, warm servers. Smoking was allowed in the restaurant. Even though none of our party smoked, the tables were spaced far apart enough that it wasn't an issue. Very, very good sushi/sashimi. Not Masa, Nobu or Morimoto good, but could hold its own amongst most other well regarded Japanese restaurants. Glad we were able to find this so close to our Polanco hotel. If you're looking for good sushi/sashimi in CDMX, you won't be disappointed here.

We make it a family tradition to eat sushi in every city we visit. Being in Polanco, Mexico City's…read moretrendiest neighborhood, we assumed we were about to experience sushi greatness. To be fair--the quality of the fish was five stars. No complaints lthere.Unfortunately, that's where the smooth horse ride became a donkey ride. The service was a solid two stars. Our waiter was clearly trying his best, but this restaurant desperately needs another waiter. We waited so long for sauces that by the time they arrived, we were already halfway through the rolls. It took about 20 minutes for the first dish, and we ordered what we normally order for my wife and I and our 3 teenagers six dishes for five, which then arrived one... at a... time... with long, awkward pauses in between. The specialty rolls are teenie Weenie and very skimpy on the fish. One of my sons wanted another roll but not willing to wait. Best roll of the night was the Alaska roll--credit where credit is due. Now let's talk money. I don't mind spending on good sushi. I expect to. But $3,950 pesos ($232 USD before tip) for five people and leaving less full than a typical sushi night in Los Angeles? That one hurt. Back home, we eat for the same price--and we leave satisfied. Upside: only three green teas were ordered, but they were excellent, high-quality, and probably the most consistent thing all night. Bottom line: amazing fish, painfully slow service, small portions, and a bill that made us double-check the exchange rate. If you come here, drink a full glass of water beforehand to feel satiated--or bring a snack. I wanted to give them a three but I always do with my wife wants and she said give them a four to be nice.

You can tell all the ingredients - all the way down to the rice - is of v. high quality. My only gripe with this place is that they allow smoking within the enclosed indoor/garden area so we were exposed to second hand smoke throughout the meal :(

Didn't opt for the omakase since my husband thought it was too much food for him. A la carte it was. We enjoyed all the food. Udon was great! I prefer udon over ramen since I like a cleaner and lighter broth. The portion was smaller than I expected, more like an appetizer size than an entrée size. Only nigiri I didn't quite liked was the geoduck, it had a fishy taste still (think aji). Would definitely return on a future trip.

The…read morerestaurant is tucked away from the street, and there were some ramps/stairs we had to get through to reach the restaurant. I'd say that they've got service and presentation down pat. The quality of the food, I'd say, is pretty good too. We started with a persimmon tofu salad with crab, shrimp, and asparagus - very clean flavor, refreshing. Then an assortment plate with mackerel & ika, trout roe, seaweed-marinated egg, matsutake mushroom salad, cactus nigiri (yes, you read that right!), and wagyu cake. I was not impressed with the wagyu... it was lacking in flavor and a little on the chewy side. The cactus nigiri was interesting! I like that Chef Asai is trying to incorporate Mexican culture into his dishes. I've never had cactus before, but it had that crunchy texture and plant-like taste. We then had a sashimi course - akami, hotate, and striped jack all on one plate. I think I would have wanted these separate instead of all on one plate, but maybe that's just my preference. We also had wagyu shabu-shabu, which I enjoyed! Overall, it was a mix of good and decent, and I enjoyed our lunch here! Interesting take on kaiseki experience.

The night that we went, they had a DJ playing, which added another level to the vibes. This seems like a versatile spot, good for both larger groups or intimate dinners. My friend and I started our meal with the soft shell crab bao buns. These were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend. For our mains, we split the Korean fried chicken, duck breast burnt ends, baby bok choy, and Japanese sweet potato. Every single thing we had was tasty! The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned. The duck breast was cooked well, and the sauce was a perfect complement. My favorite item was the Japanese sweet potato comes topped with white miso and black sugar better. The flavors melded together so perfectly and the potato was savory. The presentation at the table was also interesting. In addition to the food, we each ordered a couple of cocktails. Both the funky monkey and Pyro drinks were well made, with another great table presentation when served. While there was a rowdy party next to our table that annoyed us, the food, drinks and service from beginning to end more than made up for that. I highly recommend stopping here for a meal and some drinks if you ever find yourself in Mexico City.
