This place is a hidden gem in Valparaiso. I absolutely loved it here. I didn't have alot of time to spend since I stopped at 2 wineries otw here, but if you come to Valparaiso, you should stop here. I only had a coffee with milk, but its great to see an open kitchen where u can see ppl cooking your food. The atmosphere is nice & its very modern for sure. If you sit at the bar, you can see to the top of the city. I will definitely come back here again. :-)

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere while looking over the hills of Valparaiso. The La Negra Rica hamburger was out of this world.

I went for a selection of the tapas, taking the Tartaro di filete, the Camarones on toast and the Camembert with chutney.

Breakfast all day? Yes please! This cute breakfast place is located on Almirante Montt, where there…read moreare several dining options and shops. They serve things like scrambled eggs and brekkie sandwiches and crepe style pancakes. We decided breakfast for dinner would be perfect after a day of visiting the beach and walking around the hills. I ordered the fruit with yogurt and oatmeal and the Del Campo, which was a sandwich with scrambled eggs, caramelized onions, and roasted bell pepper on pita bread. My friend ordered the luco revuelto, which was a meat sandwich with scrambled eggs in it, plus a latte. I liked my food - the oatmeal was dry and uncooked which I'm not used to eating, but the yogurt and the fruit were delicious, especially the nectarines (there were also bananas and watermelon). My sandwich was good too. My meal was light, which is what I was looking for after eating pizza and pastel de choclo and empanadas. My friends really enjoyed his food as well. They have English menus, so ask for them - it was only when we were asking what some of the ingredients were that the server asked if we wanted English menus. We were able to pay with credit card and split the bill on two separate cards. The place was packed when we were there and we also saw folks eating crepes with scoops of ice cream!

I don't get the hype. The breakfast was pretty mediocre--the potatoes I had were oily and bland,…read morethe queso fundido on top added nothing. The accompanying tomatoes weren't ripe. The best part was the bread, which was fresh and warm, and the orange juice, fresh-squeezed and balanced between sweet and tart. Pleasingly fast wifi, which can be hard to find in Valpo. The ambiance was nice, and it's in my favorite part of Valpo. Nice place to stop and get tea or coffee, but I wouldn't go out of your way to get a full meal here.

Fun, colorful neighborhood up a (relatively) easy hill from downtown. The food seemed like a modern blend of Chilean, Italian, Seafood, and Peruvian items. I had a steak on shrimp-sauce rice, and it was delicious. The rice was so flavorful and rich it didn't even need the steak to be a complete dish. Our daughter had salmon, which was very fresh and perfectly cooked. We ate early (by Chilean standards), so I can't testify to what the scene or service are like when it's busier.

We had a busy day exploring Valpo and Vina del Mar, and we simply wanted to spend our last hour in Chile drinking pisco sour. Stumbling upon SaborColor was such a wonderful coincidence. The restaurant is located a little bit up the hill in Cerro Concepcion in beautifully renovated house. The ambiance is warm and woody, the walls decorated with quite impressive paintings for sale, jazz music playing in the background. The most important thing, they make pisco sours, all kind of them. Our cocktails were the best we had in Chile. I started with the classical one and switched to the ginger version, both were so well balanced and subtle. I wish I could stay longer and have more versions of it. Certainly a place to stop by for a drink and more! Salud!
