Another Saturday, and the quest for delicious tacos and breakfast is again joined! Today, Marjan and I visited El Guacamole on Huebner, west of the Medical Center. The restaurant is found on a strip center, with parking fronting the establishment, with drive thru left of the entry as one might prefer. This is the third location for El Guacamole, this location open for some 6 months and counting. Entering, the restaurant is newly finished, neat, clean, featuring their grade of "A"/94 award, just left of the checkout counter. There are perhaps 12 tables centrally, with 6 bright orange booths along the right wall. We were warmly greeted, and we chose seating at booth. First order: coffee! Marjan was covetous of the unique cups brimming with pretty delicious coffee, a brand we had not known of: DeCoty, based in San Angelo, roasting their own beans and with distribution in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas. We are not fond of weak, watery coffee, so this cup of java hit the spot (as one previous reviewer also noted.) Marjan chose their iteration of Huevos Rancheros, this with over easy eggs, sliced potatoes and refried beans. The potatoes were well spiced, well cooked. The eggs were, well eggs, but in Marjan's opinion, the dish is hit or miss considering the ranchero sauce. This eaterie's sauce is more of a gentle puree, well seasoned...she considered this dish a hit! I chose tacos: chicken fajita and carne guisada, both on flour tortillas, both generously filled with the desired protein. The chicken was juicy and moist, well seasoned. We considered this one of the top three we had found in our quest for the best taco. But friends, the next taco, the carne guisada truly was the best we had found so far. Tender beef, but the sauce, the sauce was really to die for: well seasoned, with just a bit of spicy heat, the flavors just working to make this taco quite the winner. We sampled both flour and corn tortillas, finding their iterations of the staple enjoyable. I am fond of another dish: menudo. This restaurant offers menudo throughout the week, unlike most others offering only on weekends. I definitely plan a return for a bowl of this favored dish! We definitely recommend El Guacamole, with Marjan rating 5 origami boots. Enjoy yelpers, and please continue supporting local businesses!!

I was hungry, the food was better than I expected. They failed to add the chips and salsa that I ordered in my Togo bag.

The food was very plain and lacks flavor. Service was good but at the end of the day the food is all that matters...

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale, and inviting. The architecture and design throughout the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Even the restrooms were impressive and reflected the same attention to detail found throughout the entire establishment. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. This isn't your typical restaurant experience--the menu is creative, unique, and offers something different. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the preparation and presentation of every plate. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the customer service. My waitress, Kreizon, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Great service can make a good meal even better, and she definitely elevated the entire experience. The outdoor dining area is also beautiful and creates a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a meal and taking in the surroundings. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers exceptional food, incredible ambiance, unique architecture, and top-notch customer service, Domingo is a must-visit. This is more than just dinner--it's an experience. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

Electronic dance music pulsed quietly in the background. The toilets were all individual unisex stalls that were classy, mine had run out of hand towels. Also, the entire restaurant is very dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu, but I have poor eyesight so there's that, but it might explain the quality of the photos I took. The Paloma drink was amazing. It had a great spicy zing in the back of the throat after every sip. Queso was... kinda plain. It might have been better with the add chorizo option. It was very thick. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

We sat on the back patio for dinner on a day when it was 100 degrees out and there were fans all over to help keep the air flowing, which helped immensely. They have some interesting cocktails, such as their jalapeño cucumber margarita which is made with ghost pepper infused tequila. Their salsa tray is nice too, they have 4 to select from and you get three in this appetizer, but we ordered the 4th as well and all were pretty nicely done. The verde was amazing and the roasted tomato was great, just not spicy at all. I tried their combo fajitas and was thankful they came out being simply plated, rather than on the blazing hot, sizzling skillet - I don't need the show, just the good eats. The meats were decent, the beans were amazing. The tortillas were just ok, as I felt like they were way too thick. They offered corn tortillas too, but I'm in Texas, so you get flour, not corn. Save room for dessert, they have amazing churros! Overall, this was a decent visit. Service was nice too. I'd recommend stopping in.

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
