I ordered a Carne Asada burrito with everything (no beans) and asked for it to be made extremely spicy. They told me the spiciest they could do was medium or hot, so I went with hot. Honestly, the spice level was about a 0/10 basically no heat at all. The wait was about 15 minutes, which wasn't bad. The young lady at the window who took my order was calm, polite, and understood exactly what I wanted. The area looked clean too, no trash on the ground, which was nice to see. The burrito itself was a decent size (for comparison, it was about the length of a Celsius can and around an inch wide). First bite was solid, probably an 8.5/10, but that was partly because I was really hungry. As I kept eating, I noticed the asada was dry and lacking flavor. The sauce did most of the heavy lifting, and the rice was inconsistent, some bites were fine, others had hard pieces mixed in. Overall, I'd give my experience a 3/5. The burrito itself was a 6.5/10. Not terrible, but the asada and rice could use improvement and if you're looking for heat, don't expect much.

Not sure why this place has so many negative reviews. I really like their street tacos. The meat is flavorful whether you ordee asada, pollo, or pastor. Good salsa that they actually add to the taco. Service is efficient from ordering at the window. Normally ready in about 2-5minutes. Prices are affordable as well. I normally walk back to my office to enjoy them but if I have time and the weather is good can sit on the picnic table . Most patrons drive up, order and take to go. Menu is limited to about 8 items and I always want to try the Carne asada fries which look really good..

Horrible! This is what my Asada fries look like. Covered in nacho cheese, smothered I should say. Why? Because there's hardly any Asada on these fries. So much to the point it's soupy. This place has gone downhill. I don't know if it's new owners, lazy or just too cheap to put out quality food. Never again will I eat here, nor will I ever recommend this place.

Ordered this burrito, and it was cold. How long does the food sit out before serving? Can the tortilla at least be hot? Not worth finishing.

El Grullito in Stockton is a solid go-to spot for affordable and tasty tacos. They offer all the typical options you'd expect, and everything is simple but flavorful. The service was quick, and everything was clean. There is an outdoor seating area, which was a nice touch. The fries were also good!

I visited El Grullito on Wednesday, 4/17/24, around 8:30 PM for dinner. I decided to order one Carne Asada burrito, two Carne Asada tacos, and an Agua de Jamaica. The burrito and the tacos tasted good, especially with the hot sauce. The only slight downfall was that the tortilla for the burrito was a tad hard. The Hibiscus drink was refreshing and delicious. The service was quick and efficient. I even liked how the food was affordable. For everything, the bill was about $20. Overall, El Grullito serves decent Mexican food. It is nice to know that this place is also 24/7. I would return here in the future.

$6 asada fries you can't beat.

I've tried a few other taco trucks as far as the side of fries going I like the fact that you can get a nice serving for $6. There's another location I tried and their fries were extremely salty. Every time I'm in town I make sure to stop by one of their trucks that are spread across the city. Make sure you give them a try if you see one of these trucks parked. I'll have to try some other items on them menu as well. They're using lined up for these trucks. No issues with service and you can eat in the comfort of your vehicle after you make your purchase.

Had a taste for some Asada Fries & My Co-worker recommended El Grullito ...the only thing I wished the fries were crinkle & Horchate was delicious & cold not over cinnamon at all

    Breakfast burrito! Overall, really good!

The carne asada tacos 11/10, carnitas 9/10, and pollo 7/10 (a little plain for me). Pretty much everything is flavored well. I can see why this place is always busy. Hot sauce is a must with this!

Finally tried the Pastor Torta. So good! A little spicy and sweet flavor combo. A must try!

Al pastor torta. Good spicy and sweet flavor combo! Grullito has always been consitant. Which is important for tacos.

Our table was right next to a metal utility rack they were using to store menus and cleaning products. That's fine, but my head was close to a spray bottle and a bottle of Lysol, which wasn't ideal. They were very busy, so we had high hopes for great food. Unfortunately, many of the items were bland. The beans and rice were especially underwhelming, with very little flavor--you can tell from the picture that the rice is basically plain white rice. My flautas were crunchy with fresh toppings, but the meat lacked flavor. My meal came with a bowl of fideo, but it wasn't delivered before my meal like it was for other tables. In fact, I had to ask for it after our food arrived, which makes me think I wouldn't have received it otherwise. After we finished eating, it took about 15 minutes to get our check. The servers were clearly very busy, but it would have been nice to leave sooner. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back. The noise level was overwhelming, and the food was just okay. If I did return, I wouldn't order anything that comes with beans and rice.

She was very nice and helpful. We shared a piña con coco cocktail, which I really enjoyed. It had a spicy rim and was sweet, but not too sweet. We ordered the guacamole, which was made tableside. I ordered the enchiladas al comal, which looked really good. Unfortunately, I didn't love the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas and wished I had ordered a more traditional red or green sauce. But it was still good, and I can see why it's popular. I did enjoy the steak and vegetables inside the enchiladas. I was leaning toward a 4-star rating since I didn't love my enchiladas and wouldn't order them again. But Isabella's service was so excellent that it alone pushed my review to a 5.

The prickly pear margarita tasted more like a pink Jolly Rancher than anything else, which just wasn't for me. My fajitas were alright, but they came without any sour cream or guac and the pico was mainly onion. When I asked the waiter, he told me they don't come with it, even though the menu said otherwise. Without those, the fajitas ended up being really dry. I ended up just paying and getting ready to leave, but when I grabbed a menu again and asked about it, they apologized and offered me chips and salsa to go, which I appreciated. The staff was very nice throughout, but the whole experience felt a bit disorganized. Overall, it just didn't feel like a good value for the money, and I left pretty underwhelmed.

We came here on a whim last weekend, and OMG, I'm so glad we did. The restaurant is small and not in the greatest location, but the food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I went with the build-your-own combo plate and chose a cheese enchilada, beef taco, and beef flautas. My entire plate was delicious, including the rice and beans. The homemade tortillas were so fresh and tasty. Everyone in our party of four enjoyed their food. We split the three-piece quesabirria tacos, and they were excellent. I chose the gravy cheese enchilada for my combo plate, but I also tried my partner's green chili chicken enchilada--both were great. I chose La Mesa because the first time we went I was very impressed with the delicious drinks and the short rib enchiladas. The atmosphere is so special and intimate whether you're on a date or with family. Both times we went, our servers were friendly and checked on us appropriately. Our server yesterday was handling making drinks at the bar and serving other tables that were there for Valentine's Day, but she still provided us with really good customer service (not sure of her name but she was wearing a pink shirt). We ordered a few drinks that included a strawberry horchata with rum, and a special one for Valentine's Day called the cupids kiss. They really stood out to me with how cute and yummy they were. For an appetizer, we ordered birria French fries. I was surprised that it had the consommé because I assumed it would make the fries soggy.... But it did not! They were AMAZING. The birria was tender and delicious, the flavor had a lot of depth in the consommé. For our entrees, we both cannot get enough of the short rib enchiladas with the mole sauce. They are our favorite. I really am just grateful that there is a restaurant like this that cares about the food they share with their customers. In the past, we ate at restaurants for my birthday where they didn't take as much pride or care about what they served. My birthday dinner at La Mesa felt very special to me and my boyfriend. As for the crispy tacos, there's a big difference between tacos that are freshly and properly fried and those that are overcooked in rancid oil. Unfortunately, what I received fell into the latter category, which is simply unacceptable. The service was also lackluster and apathetic. ----------- Jeff Berretta, no one is questioning the quality of the products served at your restaurants--La Mesa, Market Tavern, or Prime Table. The real issue is that your kitchen is ruining these high-quality ingredients. Perhaps you should try sampling them yourself to ensure better quality control. Additionally, before criticizing your customers online, I suggest you act with more professionalism. I regularly dine at your locations in Stockton and Dublin. While I do find your food overpriced and the service rather pretentious, that's not my main concern here. The real problem is your attitude. Next time I visit Market Tavern, I intend to address this with you in person and see if you live up to the online persona you project. Wishing you all the best in your role until then.
