My wife uttered, "this food is better than some of the restaurants on South Padre". South Padre Island is a frequent vacation spot of ours and I must agree with my wife, sweet baby Jesus, the food here is f'ing delicious. This will be out go-to spot when we return to Commerce.

Whole friend Tilapia. It comes with salad, fries and rice. Good deal:D

El Golfo is the only seafood eatery in Commerce, TX. The restaurant is neat and clean. Food quantity is great! The staff are friendly. Their whole fried Tilapia and shrimp gumbo are my favorites!

Fresh and tasty. Place looks divey but run by nice folks. Got the oysters and fried shrimp- like the cornmeal batter they were fried in!

Ordered a seafood platter for 2 and it only came with 4 pieces of shrimp, 1 crab cluster, and 1 potato with some sausage.

Great service. Great seafood broil. Little hole in the wall place that is off the beaten path but so worth it!

My friends and I came here for happy hour. Daily HH from 4-7p. It's a cute, cozy speakeasy located…read moreinside Sea Breeze Fish Market. It's directly on the right when you walk in. Also need a password to enter! They have some comfy lounge couches in the back. That's where we decided to sit. We all started off with cocktails, I had the Paloma and Jake's Milk Punch. Which the Milk punch caught me off guard, it's a pina colada with a twist. We all said the cocktails were really good! And ended it with the Freddy snacks, which are shots. The bartender did an amazing job on the drinks! Our host was John who always checked on us, and told us all the details about the food. As far as food we ordered Wagyu smash burger sliders, Asian sticky ribs, and Shrimp scampi. Everything was so good! It makes us all want to try Sea Breeze restaurant which it's inside of. I want to try their other menu items even more now. We will definitely be back!

Make sure take advantage of their daily happy hour deals that last until 7! If you come in during their martini thursday i'd highly recommend the espresso martini. Even though it didnt have a frothy foam top the flavor was very very well balanced, it was almost tea-like!

A week later and I am still thinking about the delicious food and fantastic service! We didn't wait…read moresuper long for a table and the hosts were great. We took my dad to dinner and he complained that it was a little loud, but felt like we sat right under a speaker. I explained to him that it was part of the "vibe". Other than the volume making it difficult to hear, everything was fantastic. We probably could have asked to sit on the heated patio. The chips were warm and fresh and came with both red and green salsa, and both were super tasty. My husband asked if I could make salsa like that at home! We ordered drinks and they came quickly. I appreciated the quality of the drinks especially since we mostly ordered from their drink menu. We ordered "The Good Guac" to start and our server made sure that it wasn't too spicy or anything for my dad. I thought that was very thoughtful that she asked if how it came was ok. For food we ordered street tacos, Baja fish tacos and the parillada en fuego. The food runner seemed confused and brought us another dish (maybe the Verde molcajete) but with the loud music the message that we didn't order it was lost in translation. My husband thought maybe it was what he ordered and started in. Because our server came to check on us so quickly, she caught the mistake right away. She apologized profusely and said they were bringing what we ordered. They allowed us to keep the dish, and no sooner did we have a few bites of the deliciousness the correct food came out. They checked on us quickly, apologized profusely, brought the correct food immediately, let us keep the other food, sent another manager to apologize and finally followed up with coupons to return after making sure we were satisfied with how they handled it. I understand humans make mistakes, so I feel like the recovery or response is what is important. This is the type of amazing service that will keep us coming back. We were actually happy with the mistake as we were able to try another dish we likely wouldn't have ordered (but ended up being our favorite thing to eat). The ambiance was fun, parking was easy, the wait was reasonable, the service was FANTASTIC, the food was delicious and food/drinks were made with quality ingredients. We'll be back!

I've got a mixed review of Vidorra. At the end of the day, I don't think I'll be going back but…read morethat doesn't mean it was all bad. First, the good. Well, the good was definitely the chips and salsa. The chips were lightly dusted with some seasoning. I didn't take the time to figure out what it was, but it gave them a nice kick. So subtle but so significant. Unfortunately, my experience kind of dipped from there. Service was slow and a bit inattentive. I got the Molcajete parrillada en fuego. The literal translation is mortar grilled over fire. I should have asked what that meant because most Molcajete dishes are heated over fire. What it means at Vidorra is cook the meat, drop a hot coal in the mortar and put the cooked meat with a little mole on a grill screen over the mortar. It's basically a fajita dish served on top of the mortar bowl. However, it doesn't stay warm. Needless to say, I was disappointed. That said, the verde Molcajete that someone else got looked as expected. No one else (there were six of us) raved about their food. So, I'm in no rush to head back.
