Most perfect spot if you're vacationing in Málaga and want to spend your time day drinking and walking along the coast and the local town. You get a perfect view of the ocean, and the random kitties that walk around the paved path by the beach. My go-to drink everyday was a screwdriver, it was made with fresh orange juice every time, truly amazing! The people working there were just as amazing, sweetest people and the best service I received while in Spain. They remembered me and would bring me my drink upon arrival. Way to make a girl feel special! Not sure if I will ever return to Málaga, but I ever find myself in that area again I will for sure be back! read more

Great restaurant! We went three times!! The cod/cognac sauce is the best - I will be dreaming of it for a long time! We tried: naan with alioli, tuna tataki, cod and salmon and mushroom, salmon, beet and octopus carpaccio and OMG - so good! The drinks (strawberry and lavender g&t) were awesome. All of the waiters were great - super friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend if you are in the area - reservations are a good idea, but you can usually make same day. read more

We were en route to Córdoba and wanted to have lunch close to the beach. EL Gato Lounge kept its reputation and we loved the ambience, food and service, nothing short to excellence... The Brushetta, cheese platter, Shrimp and curry chicken were just amazing and delicious. The service was quick and of high standard. My favorite restaurant in Torremolinos and probably the best restaurant of the town. Great atmosphere, gay friendly, the employees are extremely nice and the food is amazing. The restaurant is right in front of the beach and very well located. Just remember to book the table before going there, as it is often full. read more

If you've read any of.my other reviews you know that I don't grade on a curve. ;-) This place is out-flipping-standing. If it's your first time as the other night was for us, get the "box." It's an assortment of 15 different tapas, almost every one deserving 5 stars for flavor, ingredients, presentation- you name it! Just to be clear, not one was heavily spiced but rather all were full of delicate flavors that screamed real food ingredients- cream, butter, fresh fish or veggies, etc. Even if we go again this trip I'm not sure I'd try anything else. The service was very good- attentive, efficient, aware, but not invasive. Add to that reasonbly-priced wines and only 15 euro for the tapas box. Dinner for two with three glasses of wine each, one coffee and one dessert and the tapas box still came in under 50 e including a tip. I am undecided whether this meal was merely in my top 10 or if it makes it onto my top 5, in over 2 million miles of travel! If you are in Torremolinas, DO NOT MISS IT! read more

I just cannot say enough great things about El Gato Lounge. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, the wines were all great, and the service was very beyond friendly. We were never rushed and they provide free WiFi. The beachfront location is perfect, and they even deliver food/drink to your beach chair across the street. Over the course of a week, we went to El Gato for breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon drinks, and late drinks after midnight....it's very rare on vacation that we would ever return to the same place so often and at so many different times of day, but the place was just so great that we just had to keep going back. Had a great dinner with my family here while spending a few days by the beach. Three of us got the tapas experience that comes on a three-tiered shelf. Some of our favourites were the salmorejo, croquettes and the green peppers. The place has a lively atmosphere that gets better as the night goes on, mostly that's to the light-up drinks they serve at night. Great location by the water as well. read more

Decided to eat here based on the reviews. And this place did not disappoint. We had the "Tapas experience" which was enough for two people. And we like to eat(a lot). The food was very good here. And service was well above standard. One of the owners "Jeff" was great to deal with.very pleasant to talk to and well travelled so was helpful in giving us ideas for places to visit in Spain. Amazing tapas and even better service. Went with 4 of us and 3 of us got the tapas box. It was plenty of food for all of us and allowed us to try a variety of things. My favorite was the curry chicken but everything was good. My fiancé has celiac disease and the wait staff was very familiar and able to provide her with multiple options. She ended up with the shrimp skewers which she loved. Our server was great and even provided us with a list of places to see and go in Malaga. The beach view from the resturant only makes it better. Although labelled as a gay bar, we found people of all walks of life here. The staff is very nice. I kept thinking after we left, "those guys are so nice!" I respect and appreciate their great, friendly service. My girl and I sat on the patio and enjoyed an Irish coffee (to wake us from siesta), and after we had their mojitos with a few tapas (which were good). I recommend the mojitos especially if you do not like overly sweet cocktails. The mojitos have all fresh ingredients, and a bright citrus flavor (rather than the sugar overload I've had in the States). We liked the chic, yet casual, decor. read more

There are a lot of restaurants in Torremolinos, but not a lot of good ones. We spent some time wandering around trying to find a place that looked decent to eat at. We were so happy we found this restaurant! We had a great view: we sat at a table facing the beach, right off the boardwalk. We had the tapas box and it was a fun meal. They bring you an open-sided box contraption with 12 different tapas to try, all pleasantly presented. 4 or so of the tapas were vegetarian. I like that there is an emphasis on locally sourced products. The drinks were strong. We recommend this place! read more
