    Empanada Cazon Venezuelan Hot Dog
    Johanny A.

Recently renovated. Cozy spot with all Venezuelan dishes from arepitas frita con nata to empanadas de cazón & sopa de gallina, frescolita, Malta y jugo de parchita. Drove 20 minutes and this place feels like home every time. Everyone is always welcoming. Recommend 100%.

Demasiado tiempo de espera. (45 min por dos empanadas). Deberían tener las empanadas listas. No pienso volver ni recomendar.

This is exactly what a PR bakery should be, happy music playing in the background of a cozy shop decorated with flags and frogs. Love it! Angel was working the counter, and he happily showed and discussed the menu. We settled on a Huevo de Jamon & Queso (Egg with ham and cheese), which came out flaky, and delicious, toasted and pressed flat, plus a Bavarian Cream horn pastry because I like sweet stuff, then I grabbed a tray of pastries because people at the office like sweet stuff too. Service was already great, but then the owner Diana came out to meet me and handed over a fresh baked loaf of PR sweet bread as a gift! It's a little out of my way for an everyday breakfast stop but you owe it to yourself to come and try this place at least once!

We waited a bit and were able to get a parking space. Once inside, the first thing you see are the cases of amazing baked goods. They had a really good selection of mini pastries and I chose a chocolate eclair. The pastry was light and airy, a perfect contrast to the sweet cream filling and chocolate topping. My husband got the elephant's ear, which he said was light and flaky. We each got bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, mine on a fabulous, sweet, and large croissant. Oh, so good! The egg was thin and folded, just enough crispy bacon, and a slice of white American cheese. I was a big fan of this sandwich! My husband had his on Cuban bread, and the sandwich was grilled. He loved it! They also do great coffee drinks! I give them an A+ for offering all their coffee drinks in decaf. I had a cafe con leche, which was rich and smooth. My husband had an iced cappuccino, which I have to get next time. They topped the drink with a pike of whipped cream. He drank every "last tasty bit," as he described it. In addition, the staff is very friendly, sweet, and helpful. We highly recommend Enzo's.

The ambiance was quaint and inviting. The bakery case is incredible, with a huge selection of pastries, cakes, and other sweet treats that make it hard to decide what to order. Seating is a bit limited both inside and outside, so I could see it filling up quickly during busy times. For breakfast, we started with the bacon, egg, and cheese croissants, and they were outstanding. The croissants were buttery, flaky, and had just a subtle hint of sweetness that made them even better. I paired mine with a perfectly made cortadito, which was the ideal complement to breakfast. Even though we were already full, we couldn't leave without trying dessert. We ordered a slice of cake that was a combination of flan and tres leches (I wish I could remember the name). It was so rich, creamy, and delicious that I had to force myself to share. After seeing all the Latin-style sandwiches coming out of the kitchen, I already know what I'm ordering on my next visit. If you're looking for an excellent breakfast, authentic baked goods, and great coffee, Enzo's Cafe & Bakery is absolutely worth a visit.

The service was fast and friendly, and even though the restaurant was fairly busy, our party of six was seated and rapidly attended on. I ordered the bandeja paisa, and it was an excellent choice. The portion was enormous far more food than I could finish in one sitting, and everything was satisfying and flavorful. One dish I would not recommend is the steak al caballo. It arrived covered in a tomato-based sauce that tasted very similar to ketchup, which wasn't what I expected and detracted from the dish. Overall, this is a solid choice for large groups, soccer fans looking to catch a game, and anyone craving hearty Colombian food. I'd definitely return for the atmosphere, service, and generous portions. .

However, I know from traveling that some of the best spots are ones that appear to be a hole in the wall. I walked in, very cute inside! Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.

I'm So happy That I came in. I was the only one here, so the food was fast, fresh and prompt. I got a chicken and a steak taco and a Gatorade (it's got electrolytes). I ended up absolutely destroying my meal and it was as authentic as you can get. None of that cheap Taco Bell stuff here, this is the real deal. Delicious!!! They also have a some little shelves in the back with some misc. stuff for sale. My only complaint would be he atmosphere. Not really the place to take a date, but definitely the place to get food to go. A bit off the Lake Avenue main drag, it's worth coming over here. Lupitas up the way may be long on restaurant polish, but their food is tired and fast foody. By contrast Del Sur will give you a foot long burrito that's totally legit and made with love. Plenty of parking on the side and rear of the restaurant. Grab the horchata and try the flan for dessert. A great off the beaten path to try out!
