This has been a favorite of ours but the last 2 visits have been HORRIBLE! The last time they wouldn't bring us a water to go and ee had to wait 20 minutes for our check! Tonight we were seated in the bar area were they continued to serve very loud drunks! It took us 55 minutes on a Tuesday night to get our food. Our waitress was apologetic but it is not her fault. There was no bar tender on duty and I witnessed patrons getting up and helping themselves to stuff behind the counter. When my grandson finally got his steak nachos they were cold to the touch! How!!!! Obviously the owner and the management does not care about their family customers only serving the drunks at the bar! Waiter was good but that was about it. Long wait times and below average food made for a less than desirable experience. Also the bar ran out of margarita glasses which was another reason to rethink visiting this restaurant. We came in at 3 pm. Everything was lacking. The salsa is totally bland. The tortilla chips are bagged. Anything with a sauce, whether white or enchilada sauce-- you get only a thin small bit of it making the entire entree DRY. Tiny bits of cold shredded cheese on my taco along with dry ground beef--the only 2 ingredients in the shell. No cheese melted anywhere. And again, flavorless. Not spicy at all. Disappointed with the almost no sauce covering anything. These meals give the impression of chefs who are not authentic Mexican cooks, or unskilled cooks who just don't care and think they can just throw together anything on a plate, the least amount they can get away with, and make money. Updated review... well we returned yesterday think. We really wanted some GOOD Mexican. I ordered two tacos and a burrito and hubby got a chimichanga... when the food arrived we were excited to dig in. First the tacos had NO seasoning. The ground beef was so bland and tasteless it was like they steamed it and nothing else. No salsa, no spice in the meat.... bland. Hubby's chicken also had zero spice. He was told his was a larger portion and it turned out mine was twice the size of his... I split the burrito with him (ground burger, rolled in a tortilla with a small amount of sauce over it). He tried it and also was amazed at how flavorless and bland it was. Maybe if there was hot sauce on the table we could have helped it but there wasn't. I asked for pico for my tacos and was told tacos only come with lettuce and cheese... yuck! Having eaten ALOT of Mexican and hubby having grown up in Arizona, we laughed when the waitress told us this wasn't r real Mexican but 'Tex-mex' (uh... in that case it should have been even more flavorful)... upon leaving when asked if everything was ok, and we told them no it was horrible... we got a whole 15% off. Sadly we have to look for another real Mexican place again when we thought we had found one. The place was pretty empty too, unlike when they first opened... sad. I don't know what changed but it's not good. Bland isn't a word you should ever use for Mexican food. The food is always on point and only downside is how busy they can get. With that said they still provide a great job and there's a reason there always so busy in such a small town. Husband and I went for dinner. My husband is Mexican and we both went in knowing this is NOT authentic food like some people claim. Waitress was super sweet and had that classic southern charm, however the food was nearly inedible due to the immense amount of salt. Both of our food was so salty that we got horrible stomach aches after we left. They couldn't even get the salsa right.. why the heck was there so much oregano?!?! That's all we could taste!! It's a Mexican salsa not an Italian pasta sauce!! Asides from that, this place is extremely basic. Yelp is a good way to help others learn about great local businesses. Sadly, El Dorado is not one of them. We finally got around to trying this place for lunch today after giving it some time to work out the kinks that any new restaurant suffers, but it wasn't a good experience. To start off with, the salsa was watery, with very little flavor. The iced tea was so weak and flavorless that I initially thought they had mistakenly served ice water. My wife ordered enchiladas, and I ordered a chimichanga, neither of which were really very appetizing. The chimichanga was soggy, not crisp, and filled with some odd-tasting ground beef. The rice was clumpy and cold without any discernable flavor, and the refried beans were cold as well. My wife's enchiladas were so tough that it took a knife to cut them, and like the chimichanga, they were not at all tasty. After just a few bites, we gave up on our El Dorado lunch experience and actually went through the nearby Taco Bell drive-through for lunch. Next time we're craving Mexican, we'll just head on up to Clarksville where there are better options. read more

This is our new favorite go to place. Food is great, beer is cheap and cold, and the house made hot sauce will light you up. The bar area is small, but they have an awesome bartender that knows her stuff. My wife loves the margaritas. I honestly have no idea why anyone would give them less than a 5 star review. Hey Pleasant View!! If you haven't tried this restaurant, you are missing it! Best Mexican restaurant in town! Be prepared though if you are not coming with an appetite...the portions are huge and so delicious. I ate the Taco de Carne Asada and it was amazing! I get there tacos at least twice a week and I'm giving 3 stars cause they do load them up with beef and cheese but there is no seasoning on there meat. It's just ground beef in a shell with cheese on them if you want meat in a taco shell you'll get your money worth just be prepared for them to be plain tasting with no seasonings. El Dorado , is as close as you get to real Mexican food in Pleasant View. We are a family of 6 and being seated quickly is a bit difficult. During lunch time is the best time for us to dine here. Since at dinner time this place is packed and it's not so big. But overall the food is good. read more

I really want to give this place a better raiting but I can't. The servers are good, the food is good and on par every other Mexican place. We have eaten here four times. Every time we have waited to be seated while looking at four to six open tables. We hoped that they would train the hosts to better manage tables but I don't think that's the case. Only once did we get all the food we ordered, shrimp in a dish that wasn't supposed to have it, and a beer with mystery white slime through out. No oranges for the Blue Moon I ordered. My mom ordered the carne asada which was tough and overlooked. My husband had the carne asada tacos which he said were good. I had enchiladas verdes. Chicken was over cooked and somewhat dry. Not really any sauce was detected on the enchiladas. There was no cheese, just slightly seasoned over cooked chicken wrapped in a corn tortilla lightly dipped in a lime flavored sauce. A huge piece of lettuce and a giant tomato with sour cream were on top of the enchiladas. It added nothing to the dish. The chips were ok and the salsa with it was ok as well. Nothing spicy. They had watered down cheese dip, I had to order twice because the waitress didn't bring me all of my order even when I got my food it still wasn't right. My fiancé order fajita nachos, all she got was bell peppers and chips with the cheese on the bottom under the chips. I've eaten at lots of Mexican Restaurants. I'm seeing some sad reviews on here about this place, and I realize people have different opinions. But I can tell you, our little town is SO proud of El Dorado! I absolutely love the restaurant, and the food is wonderful, as well as the service. I had a favorite Mexican (won't mention), but when El Dorado's opened my friends & I tried it out. We were amazed! We were all completely satisfied with our food, and the drinks were top notch. The staff was great, greeted us so well, and such a clean & relaxed atmosphere. We continue to go here at least once a week, and have NEVER had bad food. We've also not gone anywhere else since eating here, as far as our Mexican food goes. Again, it is the best I've ever eaten, and I love it there. So proud to have such a great Mexican Restaurant so close by, but, close by doesn't mean I would go there if I didn't love it so much. I encourage everyone to try it out before taking the negative reviews so serious. Some people can't be pleased no matter what. Personally, I give it a 5 & would give it a 10, if there were 10 stars.
