My wife and I went to El Dorado Mazda to look at new CX-70's. When I arrive in my '12 Miata MX-5, I was greeted by Patrick Roberts He was not greeting me to be a pushy salesman, but instead just wanted to talk about Miata's. After about 10-15 mins of Miata talk, I asked if he was in new sales, and sure enough, he was and I knew I had found the salesman I wanted to work with. Patrick was absolutely amazing to work with. He didn't make us feel pressured in anyway, and it was probably the smoothest car purchase I've ever experienced in my life. Patrick was very personable and easy to work with. We never felt pressured in anyway. Dealership pricing was fair and the staff was amazing. We will definitely be buying all of our future Mazda's from not only El Dorado Mazda of McKinney, but from Patrick. The dealership should be so proud to have an associate like Patrick on their staff. read more

DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP!!!!!! I drove three hours from Louisiana to drive a used mazda that I saw online. I sent an email and received a quick response. I told him that I would be there and had several other emails including the morning I was driving over. When I arrived the man (U. Reyes) with whom I had been in contact with was not available and the car I was inquiring about was gone. They do not care about the customer at all. Purchase at your own risk. read more

First impressions are everything in today's world of having endless options at your fingertips. Alexa with the service department at El Dorado was kind, knowledgeable & attentive. She answered the call after a single ring, was beyond personable & helped me find solutions based on my schedule- not theirs. I was extremely impressed & hope to meet her in person on Thursday. Although the services I needed were 100% booked online, she was able to provide 2 options (both options that were above & beyond regular customer service) to get me & my Mazda seen as soon as possible. Alexa should be in charge of all training for customer service/satisfaction. read more

I had the worst the worst experience I've ever been a part of when it comes to buying a vehicle. Let me add that I have been a loyal Mazda customer for 6+ years leased multiple vehicles and had amazing customer service. I guess when it comes to buying your lease however El Dorado Mazda doesn't care about you. After 2 months of communication across multiple platforms (text, email and phone calls) I explicitly stated I would be buying out my current lease and made an appointment to do so at the dealership. I walked in to meet with Hamilton who my appointment was supposed to be with, I was then pushed over to the used car sales guys. This is where the process took a turn for the worse. Apparently in the handing off to used car sales guys, there was no transfer of information from the previous 2 months of conversations. They ended up taking my car and I waited around for little over 30 min and I got the dreaded car sheet. Which to my surprise had financing details after I said I wanted to buy the car. In addition to financing details there were over $3000 'fees' added to purchasing my lease. $3286.95 extra in fees to be exact. When your used car manager came over he asked if I wanted him to explain the fees and I told him no I'm not paying a penny over my residual value + taxes. He got visibly upset his face bright red and ripped the paper off the table and folded it up. Completely unprofessional. Yall tried to tell me that I had to have it inspected before you could sell it to me even though I had already done a lease return inspection and shared over the paper work a month prior. Your dealership also over calculated the sales tax due on my vehicle by $50.23 which is insane because it's just percentage of the vehicle price. They added a $1995 reconditioning fee to a car I already had. And lastly decided to add $1000 on top of the contractual residual value of the lease to buy it out. I wasted 2 hours of my life and ultimately just bought the car directly through Mazda Financial Services for the price..wait for it..my residual $23,379.59 with NO extra fees and up charges. If you are planning on buying a vehicle from El Dorado Mazda take your time and review your numbers, they might be adding few extra $$ to it. read more

Extended warranty is worthless at every other dealership, so you have to get service work done here. Just TRY to get a loaner vehicle!

Since I purchased my Mazda at El Dorado, I went there for a minor collision repair asking that they use only Mazda parts. Went to pick up the car a few weeks later and the seams didn't match up. The rep said that happens when we don't use Mazda parts. He had changed the parts to after market parts without consulting me! Like a few other customers, my headlights didn't work when I got in the car either. Definitely not the service I expected from this business. Be warned. read more

I recently had a bad case of "new car fever". My husband and I happily owned 3 Mazda's in our lifetime. After 10 years in a Honda Odyssey, I was ready for something less of a "mommy mover". I wanted a smaller SUV that's both fun to drive and reasonable on gas. The CX-5 was a perfect fit for our family. I contacted the dealership through their website and luckily we were matched with Stephen Kilpatrick in sales. Working with him made this purchase one of the easiest and nonstressful car buying experiences we've had. Not only did he respect our time he kept his word and made sure there was absolutely ZERO surprises during the entire deal. Mr. Kilpatrick has been selling Mazda's for many years and knows how to treat a customer fairly and with respect. Unlike many salesman we've dealt with in the past he was very easy going. I came in without my husband the day before we actually purchased our new Mazda which for many of us ladies can be an intimidating and overwhelming experience. I felt totally comfortable working with him without my husband. I would have no problems recommending Stephen to anyone looking to buy a Mazda. read more

****WARNING***** DO NOT SHOP HERE - Especially if you are a woman. My sister came into this dealership because they had advertised a used CX-5 in her budget. She test drove it and sat down for numbers, and then called me. The mind games here were horrendous. They advertised the car at a starting MSRP of around $24k and wrote up the pencil showing that the advertised price given verbally was in reality the price after a discount, which through us for a loop because that was not the starting price advertised. The starting price of the advertised $24k is also average for others in the area that are similar in mileage and features, so go elsewhere, there are similar cars for better prices out there. She left the dealership and this is when the real problems started. I was visiting for Christmas and took over the communication at this point. Her sales person had messaged her to see if there was anything he could do to get her into the vehicle she wanted. I explained her budget parameters and he quickly responded with a "there is no way we can take any more off the car" fine. No deal, no hard feelings, we moved on. Then the sales manager messaged her, she politely explained that there was no way she could afford the car at that price and to please leave her alone. We bought a car at Central Kia of Plano, they were more than accommodating and got a better car for less money. They were also extremely friendly and had excellent customer service. Out of courtesy we messaged El Dorado explaining that we had purchased elsewhere and were no longer in the market and to please remove my sisters contact from their system. THEY DID NOT. The internet manager messaged us asking if there was a discount that they could make happen to get the Mazda to her. I took her phone. I told them there was no deal, your salesman said that there was no more they could do and we have asked you to stop contacting us. Please respect the fact we no longer want to be contacted as we have already purchased another vehicle. They have not. They are continually harassing my sister with calls and text messages. SO RECAP in case the post here is too long FALSE ADVERTISING AND HARRASMENT these guys are scummy and do not care about you at all. They are only concerned with their bottom dollar, which as a business person I understand, however ethics are still important and these folks have none. read more

El Dorado Mazda McKinney Texas is so consistent and reliable. I can always count on their team to produce a long list of questionable service recommendations when I visit for routine maintenance. Bought a 2018 45k mile Jeep Wrangler from these people with ease. At first the cost was not negotiable but do your research and negotiation is ALWAYS on the table. Btw- did most of the negotiating from my living room via text and emails. Went into the dealership ONLY to test drive and then again ONLY to sign the contract. In and out in 30 minutes, tops! All the people that helped me via text and emails came out and said hello & shook our hands. I believe we both won and... took the Jeep to the mechanic - the only thing the car needs is a serpentine belt, 1 front & 1 back break pads and an oil change. It's a used car therefore expect a little maintenance OR take it to your mechanic beforehand and negotiate the maintenance even more from the cost. All in all A GREAT EXPERIENCE. Thank you El Dorado peeps! read more

Watch out for the finance office, they sell you extended warranties but don't give you all the paper work . The extended warranties aren't extended at all. So a 50k warranty that was sold to me was only good for 24k miles. No one calls you back or return your emails . I would never refer them to anyone. read more

Great service with no pushy sales personnel. I would strongly recommend this dealership if you are looking for a small SUV.

After my most recent service, El Dorado Mazda nearly lost my business -- it's been a few months and I'm still weighing on whether I should return. I've been taking my car here for 2 years, getting the basic stuff like oil changes and new wipers. Before, I thought getting my Mazda serviced at a dealer would guarantee some level of competence, but now it seems like if you need dependable, substantial service (new brakes, tires), then you need to look elsewhere. Not only did it take 5 hours to complete the service (my service advisor, Nick, didn't give me a time estimate -- I'm still pissed), when I got my car back, my brakes felt worse than when I brought them in: very soft braking, almost to a point of questioning if your car will stop when it needs to. I waited a week before going back to the dealer, voicing my concern that they still aren't "broken in" and my car isn't stopping as it should. They checked it out, but claimed the brakes are working as designed. I beg to differ. I've had my car for 4 years (since its manufacturing) so I KNOW what the brakes should feel like. Another week goes by and they still feel off. I wouldn't be surprised if something was wrong with the brake fluid, but we wouldn't know because they didn't check. You'd think that would be part of the brake diagnostics or multi-point inspection, but nope! It took a full month before my brakes started to feel normal again. Whatever the case, the whole experience was frustrating. I'm not going to let these guys waste another 5 hours of my time (plus the many times I drove back to complain about the brakes) and continue to give me bullshit excuses, saying it's me or that I need to give my brakes time. If this is how they treat loyal customers, then I'll take my car to a place that'll actually do a thorough check and get the job done correctly the first time. read more

Service is friendly. But expect for everything they do to take twice as long as they quote you. I actually dread coming here for oil changes because even with an appointment I'm always there for an hour and a half. Quite amazing considering anywhere else can get it done in 1/3 the time. And they even tell you when you drop off the car that it will be 45 minutes. It never has been less than double that. Too bad they don't give a discount for wasting customers time. Could help with efficiency which is clearly lacking. read more

All dealerships are running up the price on their cars with useless add-ons right now, but El Dorado Mazda is pushing harder than most. $3,000 worth of stickers, 'treatments', and anti-theft (controlled by the dealership) on a $26,000 car is absolutely outrageous and no one should ever buy a car from these crooks. If you must, ask to see the contract for each add-on. Every one of them will say that you don't have to buy it to buy the car and have a DECLINE option. Take advantage of that. Or drive a few miles to one of the other dealerships who are only going to steal an extra $1,200 from you, instead of $3,000. read more

"Constant companion" and I put off the 50,000 mile service for awhile because of COVID-19. However, finally, I broke down and started to call around to schedule an appointment. Specifically, I was looking for a place that offers valet service where they pick up your car and return it back to you. El Dorado Mazda scheduled us for valet service and charged us about $0.50 per mile. I was expecting valet to be a lot more than that, so I was pretty happy with it. The pick up/return process was simple and convenient. If you want, you can also loan a vehicle from them, which makes it even more convenient. I was really impressed with our service advisor, Kenny. He communicated with us via text and even sent a video with a visual inspection of the vehicle. He also told us that he wasn't going to charge us for air filters because ours were in good shape, so they wouldn't need to be replaced for a couple of services. The video gave me a lot of confidence in El Dorado Mazda because it allowed me to actually see that something was wrong and needed to be replaced. Usually, a car repair place just tells you what's wrong and gives you an estimate. This time, it was a lot easier to pay for the repair because I felt like I could trust them. Afterwards, I paid for the service online and the car was returned quickly. They had me sign a few forms when they returned the vehicle, but the contact was minimal and the driver was wearing a mask. I haven't driven the car yet (because I wanted to "quarantine" it for a few days), but the service experience at El Dorado Mazda was exceptional! CC and I went to Town North for our previous service and were not nearly as satisfied. We plan on going back to El Dorado for all future service! Thanks, Kenny! read more

I have never been more pleased from start to finish with my car buying experience. I drove and hour and 20 minutes expecting the car to be gone or the price they gave me on the phone to be higher with a bunch of extra add ons but it wasmy. the price he quoted me over the phone was exactly what I paid and the car was exactly as described. PERFECT!!! My sales consultant was Mark Jones and he was the nicest guy I could have ever asked for. He was so patient with all my questions and walked me through the car buying process explaining everything that they needed. The sales manager Brett Bramblette (who I spoke with on the phone wanting a bottom line price before I drove out there gave me one which I was very happy with) and stuck with it. When I asked for more on my trade in he raised that too!! He was AMAZING. I will forever be grateful for the A+ treatment they provided while buying my car. I drove it home today and LOVE. I will let everyone know what a wonderful car buying experience I had. Thank you again! read more

This review is based on the service department. Had a few minor things that I needed some help with: front license plate bracket, trunk handle, etc. Ace, one of the service advisors, quickly approached me and helped me with all three issues right then and there in less than 5 minutes. I came in April 2018 to get some recalls done on my car and an oil change and while my car was in the shop, they damaged the side of the car and ripped off one of the black rubber linings that go on the outside of the Vehicle when they did the car wash. I called several times after I was told I could come back another day and get it fixed. When trying to reach them to make an appointment to get it fixed because the part would need to be ordered they would send my calls to voicemails and ignore my emails. I finally gave up and decided to disregard the issue. I was very disappointed with the lack of customer service experience at this location and never decided to write a review until now I called today 11/4/19 to this location today even after all my issues in the beginning because I know they offer different price rates on having your cars transmission diagnosed. McKinney Mazda charges $140.00 and hour vs $99.95 at town north and mesquite $130.00, I definitely won't be going to McKinney Mazda not because of the price rate but because of the poor quality of customer service kenny in the service department gave when I called in the inquire about the process and general information. Customer service is everything and being rude won't bring customer in, it'll send them to other locations further away to find a dealership willing to genuinely help a customer out. This location will be out of the question from now on as an option for any kind of service I need in the future. I Regret getting any service done on my car from McKinney Mazda, won't be recommending it either. I rather drive from plano to mesquite because there service technicians showed genuine, friendly attitude when i called in to inquire about the services they provide. They even apologized in the name of Mazda and reassured me this isn't how Mazda would like their company name or image to be represented with poor service. I came to this dealership looking to lease a 2016 Mazda CX-5. The salesman I test drove with was knowledgeable, friendly and funny. I was 90% sold on the vehicle he showed me. I'm not sure if this dealership's strategy is bait-and-switch or what, but the advertised price definitely went up for the trim I was shown between the salesman and finance guy. When it came time to talk lease terms, the finance guy was condescending and ambiguous about the lease terms. The finance guy seemed to be annoyed that I knew what I was talking about and was asking intelligent questions. He also bashed Honda (my current vehicle) multiple times and used the F word when joking about something in front of me. I legitimately liked my sales guy but decided to go with Honda since the dealership is more professional with customers and more transparent about the total cost of leasing a vehicle. read more

I have always had great service here. From the car-buying process, to finding a manual-transmission loaner for me to drive when my trade-in was processed but my new car was being shipped from another state. Chris at El Dorado Mazda was amazing! He was very communicative while I was inquiring about a new car and even gave me a heads-up when a truck of new cars came in. I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned CX-5 in October 2017. I was a female shopping alone. They were not very clear on financing at all. Once I got back into the financing office, Mike handed me the title to sign before discussing terms. He was upset when I told him that I would not sign without discussing terms (total loan amount, payment, etc.). He also pushed me to purchase an extended warranty that I did not want. I asked for my term information to look over that night and came back the next day to sign. Mike was not available, so I was transferred to someone else. After pulling up my documents, I saw that the extended warranty was added to my loan. I asked 4 times for this to be removed. I was told to "discuss with my husband" and that if he wanted me to remove the warranty, I could come back and do that later. After the 5th time asking for this to be removed, it was clear he would not do it and I agreed to remove at a later date. Two weeks later, I went back to remove the warranty. Mike again helped me, referring to my fiance (who was not purchasing the vehicle with me) the entire time. I signed the papers to remove the warranty and was told that the cost of the warranty would be removed from the total of my loan. It is now February and my loan provider has no record of communication from Mazda about removing the loan and I have not received call backs from Mike or anyone else in the financing department. I love the car. It runs and looks like new and I'm very happy with my purchase, but would definitely choose to go through anyone else for financing. read more
