They are trying to remove/flag my review on Google Maps, hence trying to add it at as many places as possible to help people understand this business is just like any other dealership that tries to scam people.
AVOID.
Reviews are misleading, we went based on the reviews and were appalled by the deal. The deal we've got is one of the worst deals I've got across Dallas. Marketing price is different than the selling price is. If you're still going to visit, you'd expect around $8K-10K add-ons and fees combined. Never heard of bank fees, baiting taxes (trade-in), there should be 0 taxes if the trade-in is balanced out.
Tried to take a picture of the quote and was snatched out twice outta my hand.
Not to forget. As soon as you're not agreeing with their insanely BS DEAL, they kick you out. Lol! Rude!
Detailed:
We walked in looking at the 2026 Ford Mustang EcoBoost, advertised on their website at $29,569. Clean price, no gimmicks - or so we thought.
That $7,893 in "Value Adds" consisted of Appearance packages, Tint, GPS Tracking - neither of which I was informed about upfront.
The advertised $29,569 somehow became $42,992 financed plus $3,000 cash down - meaning the real total was closer to $45,992 (attached the quote). That's a $16,423 gap between what they market and what they actually charge.
When I asked for clarity on the numbers the salesperson couldn't explain the discrepancy and refused to honor the advertised website price. Classic bait and switch.
I also had a co-signer with a 740+ credit score approved through Santander. Even with that the numbers never became reasonable. I took a picture and started walking out.
Act Two - The walkout promise:
On our way out the salesperson pulled us back promising a better deal. We went back inside.
His "better deal" was a completely different business proposal -- he suggested I sell my Tesla separately to Carvana for around $29,000, pay off using cash to personally cover the $6,500 negative equity out of my own pocket, then return to Bob Tomes to buy the Mustang as a completely fresh transaction with no trade-in involved.
Let that sink in. Their solution to an unreasonable deal was to ask me to absorb $6,500 in negative equity myself - no rollover. Just hand them clean money and start over.
When I tried to photograph this new separate-transaction quote to review it properly, the salesperson physically snatched the paper from my hands. Twice. He then pulled it away entirely, claiming he needed to discuss it further with the finance manager.
The new quote did show the car at $29,500 matching the website - but buried underneath were approximately $6,600 in questionable taxes and $1,800+ in add-ons, pushing the total right back to nearly $38,000. Same trick. Different packaging.
The Final Word:
The salesperson returned one final time with the finance manager's closing message:
"The finance guy says you leave." It was him who pulled us back just to kick us out in a rude way.
Final visit:
Went back along with the co-signer with a 737 credit score after the manager called saying they wanted to make things right. After some negotiations, they did honor the price advertised on their website - I'll give them that. Then came the financing. 18% APR. With a 737 credit score co-signer. Asked for something reasonable around 6-7% and was told finance is completely out of their control. Interesting.
They also said my co-signer needed to prove our relationship or show we live at the same address - otherwise only Santander or Ally Finance would work (these two were the only lenders with highest APR btw). Never come across that requirement at any other dealership. Felt like another way to make things difficult.
Eventually they handed me a purchase order and suggested I find outside financing. I didn't sign anything and walked out. Maybe it works for people who go with outside financing after a lot of negotiation. Two visits. Two trips to McKinney. Same experience both times. The callback felt genuine. It wasn't. If you're planning to visit - go prepared, ask about financing upfront, and don't make the drive until you have something confirmed in writing over email or something.
Manager TJ was respectful throughout, no complaints there. The issue was purely with financing. read more
