When they use a scale to weigh your cans and the cans are the small ones you loose $2 for every $8 dollars worth of return value ! So I for a very long time have asked for my cans to be counted . This has never been a problem and they always paid me cash . So , long story short they told me they can only count 50 cans now and so instead of four brown bags of cans I gave them 50 cans . It was starting to be bothersome ! Then they dumped the cans in the big blue container and began to inform me that they don't pay cash anymore and that they would need my drivers license so they could issue a check to my bank . I wondered how secure there internet service was and told them that would not work for me . There was no other persons in line to be helped and they could have counted the cans this one last time ! I told them to never mind the cans and loaded up my other two and a half bags and left ! The last time I was there they had two men fighting in amongst the elderly people there and had to call the sheriffs department. I think the solution for me is to find a family owned recycling center where I feel they will give me the exact amount that I should be receiving.

I stopped by this place recently to drop off some asphalt samples my company needed to get rid of…read more When I first pulled in, I talked with a lady at the booth who was really friendly and helpful. I told her I had boxes of asphalt, and she told me asphalt was free to dump. I thanked her and mentioned that I'd be coming back with more boxes, and she said that was fine. I dropped everything off and went back to my shop for the next load. When I came back later, a different guy was working. I told him the same thing, that I had boxes of asphalt to dump. He said it would be thirty five dollars. I told him the lady earlier said asphalt was free, and he said that only applies without the boxes. I told him she never mentioned that, but he didn't seem to care. He also said that if I wanted to dump the asphalt out of the boxes into the concrete section, someone would have to watch me, like he didn't trust me. At that point I just paid the fee because I didn't feel like arguing. It was frustrating getting two completely different answers on the same day. The first lady was great and handled things professionally. The second guy, not so much. The only reason I came here was because it's close to my shop, but after that experience I'll probably go somewhere else. Just know it might depend on who you get at the booth.

We have to drive approximately 12 miles to this one and only location that provides this type of…read moreservice but it is well worth the drive. The staff is very supportive, although they appeared to be short staffed today. Apparently, others have discovered this special location as it was very busy today and people were lined up but we were in and out in 15-20 minutes. NOTE: Although, the signs say no crushed, if you are able to get the bar code available to be read, you should be ok. We just twist the item to semi-uncrushed so bar code can be read. Whatever you do at home, do not remove the wrapper with the bar code. Also note that more items are now recyclable. While we do recycle glass, we find glass to be not worth recycling due to weight and price per pound but we continue to do be recycling partners for California, even if it's glass.
