From the outside, it looks like an afterthought. Inside, not much changes. No one says hello. The staff looks at you with melancholy, like they weren't expecting anyone. The place feels temporary, like it could pack up and vanish by morning. The décor, doesn't seem to follow any plan. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and a chicken quesadilla. Nothing fancy. Just something to eat. The total came out over twenty dollars. I looked at the receipt and looked at the food. The math didn't add up. No one talks. No one smiles. I absolutely hated this spot the first time I had tried it but last month some co-workers of mine convinced me to give it another go and boy am I glad they did. Over the past month I have been here three times and each time I have come for their shrimp and asada tacos! Their shrimp tacos specifically are the best I have had in a longgg time. They don't over cook the shrimp and they don't offer small or chopped up into pieces shrimp either. Each taco has 4 large whole shrimps cooked and seasoned to perfection! Our mindset on this food joint is still the same 8mo later. We love it! It is, hands down, the best place to sit and eat in Yerington. A lot of bad Mexican food in Nevada, and This town has a few options, some bad, some really bad. Nunez does not ever disappoint. Chips came out hot and freshly made. The oil did not taste old. The guacamole is made fresh daily and the salsa is fresh and satisfying. We eat here at least once a week. Johana is the sweetest waitress. With 12 tables all taken up at 3pm, we helped clean up a table that as a couple just left a table vacant. The least we could do for the place we enjoy so much. read more

The customer service was pretty good. The employee I gave my order to over the phone and picked it up from was both nice and professional. However, that's about where the positives end. The interior was very outdated, but clean. I was disappointed to see that not a single employee was wearing a mask or social distancing at all. I wasn't all that hungry so all I ordered was a bean and cheese burrito. Nothing difficult. Ultimately, it wasn't good. It was probably the worst wrapped burrito ever because it fell apart as soon as I picked it up. The beans tasted like they were store bought, out of a can. Pretty disappointing. The place is nothing to look at inside or out, but the food and service are top-notch! The wife and I stopped by for lunch while passing through town. Our waitress was quick to greet us and take our drink orders. Our food was prepared and delivered to the table in a better-that-reasonable time. I had the fajita taco salad and the wife munched on a yummy pulled pork Quesadilla. Everything was hot, delicious and served in a portion big enough to satisfy a large man (me). Our waitress was friendly, and checked on us often (without being too often). I felt the price we paid was a great bargain for the quality of food and service we received. Let me start by saying that I've eaten at a LOT of Mexican restaurants in Reno, Sparks, Las Vegas and other various cities that I've visited. This is one of my favorite restaurants ever! The flavors are so bold and surprisingly uncommon (at least among the restaurants I've been to). Everything we tasted was delicious and fresh. From the start of the chips and salsa arriving at our table to the entree and appetizer we ordered. The pork burrito with green sauce blew us away. The shrimp appetizer, I forgot what it was called but it has cucumber, onion, lime juice, salt and raw shrimp with minced jalapeño was so flavorful. Note - the shrimp takes a while to cook in the juice and salt, but so worth it. I would highly recommend this place to locals as well as those just passing through town looking for a good bite to eat. I would definitely stop here to eat again. read more

I ordered nachos and my husband ordered a combo plate with a taco and enchilada. The nacho were delicious, layered perfectly and the highlights were the guacamole and chicken.
