Booked an appointment with George over six weeks ago for January. Ample time for an appointment, four months preparation to be exact. Today I receive a call that he's unavailable that day. I'm confused as to why I wasn't notified in the past 6 weeks? So, the receptionist said he has availability the following week...at 2 PM. I had booked for 10 AM, as my schedule does not allow for appointments that late. I was told he does not have any available appointments at that time until Summer 2022. What? Lol. Unprofessional. Worked in an Aveda salon in NYC before as a receptionist, and knew my stylists schedule well enough that if someone booked four months out...we'd make accommodations or at the least notify my customer of his unavailability immediately after booking, not six weeks later. That's pathetic honestly. Definitely will not be going, unfortunate that was my first & only impression. And I've attached my email as proof that I made my appointments over six weeks ago, because I'm seeing in the past you query whether or not the reviews are fraudulent. Each time I enter the salon I am greeted by warm smiles and a welcoming staff! My stylist, Vika is a trained hairdresser and an artist, and she always has the color perfect. I'm fairly new to the community. I've tried a few different salons for haircuts but what I really wanted was some vivid hair color. So I happened to see a wonderful sign outside of this establishment Stating that they Specialized in color correction which truly stuck out to me because I used a boxed color during the Covid quarantine. So I went in and I made an appointment for my daughter and I. We both had our haircut and I scheduled a color correction. The staff were absolutely amazing and supportive of each other's work. When I finally returned a week or two later to have the color correction it took several hours in which I expected. Kim did a fantastic job I cannot say enough. Again it took a little longer than expected but that's what it took to do my hair right and she wouldn't let me leave until it was perfect. Mind youThis is the only treat that I do for myself is my hair and I'm super picky. I look forward to going back next month for a color touch up and also my daughter is having a color correction. I highly recommend the salon not only the friendliness but they are super clean and very aware of the Covid situation and are fully prepared.I must mention that the communication and reminders of your appointments are excellent too :-) read more

I've been living on the Cape for 2 years and have had difficulty finding a stylist like my guy in DC. This is the best salon I have found so far. George is wonderful. He listens to your needs and delivers the most amazing hair style. I am so glad I found this place and will be returning for more services in the future for sure. I came here twice while on vacation. The first was for a facial with Deborah. What an amazing experience: so relaxing and my skin felt amazing for days afterwards. Hands down the best facial I've ever had - she is special. Second time was today for a cut and color with George, one of the owners. Every once in awhile you come across who stylist who is a true master at knowing and understanding hair and clients. He is one. I'm wishing I lived up here so this could be my regular salon, but i will be sure to schedule a visit when I come back! read more

George, the owner, is a master colorist and extremely knowledgeable about my hair color He lisytens and makes suggestions leaving the final decision up to me. his input makes it easy. Very disappointing. I went with high hopes for master technician $95 hair cut. Left with a mess of frizzy hair. Didnt ask what I wanted, cut bangs without asking - cut them badly, (not blended too short - I could've done better). Wanted to "leave it curly" against my better judgment, he was going to "show me how to make it curly". The back of my hair is curly, the top and sides are not. So after putting gel on my hair and flipping my head over he lightly blow dries it and tells me to use a diffuser. This is a new technique? I've had half curly hair for 50 years you're not teaching me anything new here. When the top and sides just turn to frizz he just sprays it with water. It was a mess. By the time it fully dried I looked like I had hair earmuffs. I flat ironed it and saw he didn't trim any of the top layers on the right hand side and that the bangs were a mess. I was in an out of the salon in 30 minutes. Never let them leave it "natural" it hides all the flaws in the haircut. Piss poor job, beyond overpriced, beyond disappointed. Will not go back, do not recommend. And while I was required to wear a mask, my stylist (owner) was not. read more

Very happy an Aveda salon is on Cape. I've been trying to find a stylist since moving on Cape six years ago who will listen and not give me that dreadful old lady Elizabeth Warren look. This place is great. Lovely staff and clean comfortable shop. Aveda employees are always hip and up to date on training. I've had three appts so far including base color, cut and hi lights. Keeps me coming back. Plus.... When you're done and feeling fabulous, go to DSW in the same parking lot and get some new shoes since you look so good :) read more

I was very specific with George about what I wanted for a haircut. Even had a picture. He was very pleasant, and appeared to listen attentively, then did the EXACT OPPOSITE. I asked for next to no length off, just wanted some layers, he took five inches off the baseline. I asked for a messy textured look, got blunt heavy lines. Overall, a dumpy cut in a frumpy "nowherseville" length. Nice enough guy, but WAY BEHIND THE TIMES in terms of cutting technique. Went to another place to get ideas for cuts that would give my hair some kind of style while it grows out. The girl I spoke with said she gets a lot of people who come from him unhappy with their haircut. Left a message the next day letting the salon know how unhappy I was, and that I'd like to be refunded as I planned on getting it re-cut somewhere else, never heard back. read more

I went in for a simple blow dry, explained I had a large circular cowlick in the back. I knew immediately that the girl had no idea what she was doing. Instead of getting some of the water out of my hair she immediately started blowing my hair and it wasn't fully dry in the back, she was the last person working and clearly wanted to get me out as fast as she could. I got home and in less than an hour the back of my head was a mess, exactly where I said I had the cowlick. This is not what I expected from an AVEDA salon, as I go weekly in Boston, this worse than one of those chains THIS IS A REAL REVIEW, I USE GEIGEI AS AN ONLINE NAME. I don't recall the name of the hairdresser, I use that term loosely as she was horrible and was the last person to leave and in a hurry to get out. I saw you, George but you too were out before I was taken to have my hair washed. I regularly go to a REAL AVEDA salon, my stylist knew of you and was not surprised when I related my experience. What a great salon! It is hip and stylish while also warm and friendly. I have gotten my hair cut there and more recently a straightening treatment for my very frizzy long hair that is working wonderfully. A blowout or straight iron used to last less than a day with my hair and now it feels like silk and is 1/3 the volume of what it used to me. I get compliments constantly. And George (the owner) gave me the best haircut I've ever gotten in my life. Highly recommended!! read more
