I'm writing this review from El Chino because it's just that good! We've eaten here almost everyday since we got to Tulum (only missed one day because the restaurant was closing.) The garlic shrimp, crab and fish is AMAZING! Their tacos are also pretty good. Literally obsessed with this place. I highly recommended if you're in Tulum. It may not be the most glamorous but it beat the higher end restaurants we've tried in Tulum. And you can't beat the price!

Seafood soup

This place is such a hidden gem. The menu looks absolutely amazing. Everything is affordable and comes in all kinds of style. We ordered the ceviche, shrimp rice, garlic crab and seafood soup. So delicious. The drinks are also very nice. The place is very packed but definitely worth the wait. Highly recommended.

The evil green stuff is H-O-T!

Pescaria Estrada - Not the best octopus. Put your money on the fish.

We went on a Saturday night and it was pleasantly relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Alex took amazing care of us. He was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, bringing things before we even had to ask. He also shared great insight about the restaurant and its background, which we really appreciated. The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. I skipped the margarita this time, but they are also one of my favorite things to get here. We will definitely keep coming back.

I thought the fish was a little over-fried but my husband liked it that way. The grilled octopus was not overcooked, but in fact very tender, and cooked with this red sauce that made it very juicy. These were their two recommended dishes and I'm glad we got to try them. Just be careful with the water here (like any place in Mexico). I think I got sick because my drink had ice in it, which melted and contaminated my drink. Small mixed ceviche 10/10 - We were pleasantly surprised by the serving size ("THIS is a small?") The best food I've had in Tulum two years in a row! Simply amazing!…read more Wow - I thought maybe I just remembered last year through rose-colored glasses - no, this place is magnificent. First, the vibe is basically perfect. Feels exotic, is clean, the staff is fun, and the live music is the finishing touch. Second, without a doubt the best food we had in Tulum during our week there this year, and my week there last year. House Salad - I never knew I needed goat cheese ice cream on a salad but I'm telling you it was AMAZING! My girlfriend had the Octopus in marinade. She gets the Octopus everywhere we go. It was very tasty and not overcooked like is often the case. I had the Catch of the Day, Sea Bass. I have the fish of the day everywhere I go (live in St Petersburg, Florida, so I'm a seafood junky). It was, again, like last year the best fish dinner entree I had in Tulum. That's between about 12 different places I've eaten at in Tulum spanning the poshest hotel zone restaurants to the most reviewed and highly rated places in Centro in town. It was mouth-wateringly good and flawlessly prepared. I highly suggest trying the Mexican Tea cocktail - a refreshing, but not overly sweet, well-balanced drink that I loved and my girlfriend switched to despite it not being anything like what she would normally order. Last - I worked in restaurants starting at 15 through my late 20's including the most upscale place in the entire city. I got good enough to find gigs helping train staff during new openings. The service we received was remarkable, yet causal and fun. Commendable and appreciated.

If you're looking for a party vibe while having dinner, this is the spot. From passing out…read moresparklers to everyone to the fire dancers it was all very entertaining. Make sure to make a reservation in advance, especially for Thursday through the weekend. We visited at 8:30 and we felt like it was the perfect time because a lot of the performances began around nine. The service is top-notch. From putting the napkin in your lap to arranging a miniature coat rack to hang your jacket, they pay attention to detail. Not to mention, though the atmosphere takes priority here, the food was also very good. We ordered a steak and the shrimp risotto. The shrimp were colossal. I have never seen shrimp so big. Most of their specialty cocktails are quite acidic and that night I was craving whiskey so I ordered an old-fashioned and it was also very good. I would say this spot in particular is well known for big groups and bachelorette dinners. It is quite loud, so keep that in mind. It's also in line with other nice restaurants in Tulum regarding price, but we felt it was worth it. Lastly, make a note that they charge for water so you're not surprised when you get the bill.

From the moment…read morewe walked in, the place had energy, music, lights, and a crowd clearly there to celebrate something. It never felt stiff or overly formal, just lively and fun the entire evening. The food was excellent across the board, but the standout was the tomahawk steak presentation. When it arrived, sparklers, drums, and all eyes on the table, it honestly felt like some kind of ceremonial animal sacrifice in the most entertaining way possible. Over the top? Absolutely. Memorable? Even more so. Great atmosphere, great service, and legitimately great food to back it up. We laughed, ate way too much, and left buzzing from the whole experience. A true 5-star night in Tulum.

They have a physical English menu, but would…read morerecommend looking @ the online menu because it has pictures, and more details about each item (what else it comes with). The ceviche and fried fish looked good, although we didn't order. Great complimentary tortilla chips - comes with pico, couple salsas (one spicy, one not), white sauce, limes, and chopped jalapenos (also to be used with your food). Started with fries for the table, which were very crispy, and flaky on the inside. As for entrees, Consensus was the fish tacos (especially diablo) were very tender and tasty. The octopus tacos came with good portions, but pieces of octopus weren't very bite sized (not a problem). Shrimp tacos were very buttery. Got the skirt steak (comes with medium sized enchiladas, small portion of rice and bean), which was also alright - tender but not juicy. Also got the hamburger, which was definitely skippable - seemed like ground chicken. Total for 6 people was about $100 (USD), which was very fair. Friendly and fast service. General consensus is to get seafood items.

The soup was also ok. The only good thing was the flan . That I loved. I'm giving the 3 STARS basically because of the service, they are fast and attentive, otherwise, I'll leave a 1 STAR REVIEW.
