Only thing good here was our server girl, who was really nice , left a hefty tip. She was dragging tables around trying to make customers comfortable. Very attentive. Chips were like Tostitos store bought and canned salsa and refried beans for dip should have been a precursor to the horrid food i got. The food was really LOUSY. I mean bad. Like straight out of a can. FLIES buzzing everywhere. My wife had chicken burrito there was no thought at all to it. No flavor. Microwaved reheated frozen chicken pieces . Place was a dump. They had cleaning product chemical bottles sitting on tables. Bathroom was broken and toilet lid exposed with yellow piss in the toilet. pork in the burrito was super salty and dry, OLD even. So good! We were driving through town on our way from Fort Bragg to Santa Rosa and were looking for a place to eat late breakfast. This was the first place we saw so stopped. We were the only customers when we arrived just before 11 which made me nervous. Chips, beans and salsas were great. Chilaquiles with pastor and huevos rancheros were some of the best we have had. Cute little restaurant as you drive through Willits! We sat outside and the server was friendly and attentive. He was helpful in answering dietary restriction questions. He said the rice and beans are vegan friendly. They brought out chips and 3 salsas and bean dip with the water. Their green salsa is so delicious!! stumbled across this gem on the 101 and lawwwwwd! so bomb! to start, we got chips and refried beans and three different salsas. the beans alone had us on a choke hold. we were a party of four. the gentleman that was taking our order was so sweet and helpful. we got mole enchiladas, burrito de pastor wet with mole, tortilla soup and shrimp red enchiladas. everything was so good. definitely stop and have some food. you won't regret it. read more

My goodness, what a gem find! This quality food is delicious, PLENTIFUL, and reasonably priced. I had the chorizo chilaquiles and they were some of the best I ever had. Husband had the pork tamale and thoroughly enjoyed his meal, too. I also recommend the orange colored salsa; it's very unique and flavorful. We were in the middle of a weekend motorcycle trip and Willits was our stopping point for the night. We rolled into our hotel, unloaded our gear and headed across the street to El Chicano. I had done a bit of Yelp research beforehand to see what was good within walking distance of our hotel, and this place fit the bill. Due to Covid-19, they only had outdoor seating and takeout, but they have plenty of shaded outdoor seating, and the weather was perfect. The friendly (masked) staff greeted us and took our order inside. We both ordered a Negra Modelo and the Alambre special, which is carne asada, carnitas, bacon, peppers, onions and tomatoes covered in cheese with a dollop of sour cream, and served with fresh, warm tortillas. We were also given fresh chips with a spicy verde salsa, a red sauce and a small dish of refried beans for dipping. We were hungry, and it was perfect and delicious. Our meals also came with a free drink, so we had a Paloma and a Margarita. *They don't have a liquor license yet, so they're wine mocktails. Not terrible, but not as good as the real deal. The frosty beers on tap is the way to go! All in all, we had a great dinner on their patio and left there fat and happy. If in the area, I'd eat there again. The food tastes as if it was cooked in a small kitchen run by generations of caring, loving grandmothers. Worst place ever they were rude and food was not good They kicked me out when I was only trying to have a conversation with the sons owner. He told me to stop talking to him after I was only asking him about his family's business and experience. They obviously don't love what they do for a living so for that reason I will never go back to this place. You do not go into this business if you don't like talking to people. I had already payed and gave a good tip! I was kicked out like I was a criminal when I had only tried to be friendly to the gentleman that was at the bar which was the owners son! I have had fajitas at countless Mexican restaurants and many aren't very flavorful. The combo chicken and steak fajitas here are seasoned perfectly and served with plenty of grilled onions and peppers. Plus the portion was huge! I was stuffed at two large fajita tacos but pressed on for a third knowing I was only eating for the sport of it and knew I would suffer. It was so worth it!
