Really yummy dinner. All we ordered was the plain burrito with refrained beans cheese and rice. We chose to super it with sour cream, guacamole, and pico Decalogue. Added beer to that,yum! What an experience! First, when the white female server brought our chips and salsa, she placed, or dropped, the tortilla chip bowl on the table and shoved it across the table, so rough that chips fell off the bowl. A young hispanic male took our drink order and we were told they only had 2 Sprites, we ordered 3. A white family of 5 came in soon after, and guess what ? They all ordered Sprites, and guess what ? They had them, lol. The white female server came back, took our order, and that was pretty much all the interaction we had, lol. I will say though, a hispanic female came by and offered us more chips. After this, we were pretty much forgotten about. The food was OK, salsas had no flavor, and service was horrible. How this place has over 4 stars, I have no clue. Might be because this is a very small town, IDK. Hopefully the owner reads these reviews and corrects these issues. read more

Not ordered since Covid but in the past the food is very consistent with large portions. I just hate expensive venues that when you leave you are not stuffed. Slightly pricey for Mexican, but everything is just as you'd expect from a locally owned & operated Mexican Restaurant. The owner will probably be your waitress! read more

Went on a road trip to Oregon and on my route back home to the beautiful town of Orange County, I stumbled upon this restaurant. I had a few places to eat, I wasn't in the mood for no mcnuggets nor an enchirito so I decided to walk into this restaurant. I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas. They came out steaming hot and delicious. The steak was very juicy and tender. I also ordered a side of pork Chile verde and that was delicioso. Our server, named Jannette brought us salsas of all different kinds as well as refried beans to go along with our baskets of chips. The pineapple cucumber water was amazing and they brought me refill after refill without extra charge. I fed my family of 5 (all adults) for under 60 dollars. Too bad this restaurant is not across the street from my house or else I'd be here every day. So anybody coming down the road feeling hungry for some real Mexican food, swing by and you'll thank me later for it. And for all of you senseless, delicate people out there complaining about 1 fly in the restaurant, go to taco bell and eat your doritos locos tacos. read more

Firat of all I live and love willits. I love supporting local businesses but i have never been treated so rudely in my life! I went in at 10pm when they close at 11pm. There was a gentleman which was the son of the owner whom I tried to have a conversation with and he called me rude when I only asked him of his experience in the restaurant business because I was a chef for 15 years. His dad heard the commotion coming from his son and asked me to leave after I explained to him that I was just trying to have a friendly conversation. I had already payed for my meal and left a good tip coming from my background. There was no reason for them to treat me this way since I had been there multiple times. It is not anyone's fault if they don't have a passion for what they do. You need to change career because customer service is not in that family and in their business. Kinda worried about contacting hepatitis from this place. I washed my hands in the employee bathroom and the trash can was filled with soiled toilet paper instead of someone simply putting it down the toilet. There was also very little soap left in the old "Body and Bath" Eucalyptus scented soap dispenser. We ordered food to go here not to long after they opened and were completely dissatisfied. Half the order was wrong. The flavors were so random, it was gross. The pastor was so sweet it could've passed for candy. The plus side though was that while we waited we got free watermelon water that was good but the chips were stale and salsa was also sweet. If I could give Yelp a 1 star review I would. This is the perfect example of how Yelp can ruin the reputation of a fledgling restaurant before they even have a chance to show off the uniquely excellent cuisine they have to offer. My husband and I sat down for breakfast because a friend of ours who lives in Willits said she had a good meal here. We both ordered super burritos with asada and egg. They were excellent. They had a unique herb blend that made them stand outs in the sprawling world of burritos. Our server brought us a sampling of superb salsas to go with it. Floored by how good it was, my husband said "I bet this place gets 5 stars on Yelp". I opened the app and much to my horror, it said 2.5 stars with just 5 reviews. On closer inspection, one of the 1 star reviews was obviously written by someone affiliated with a local competitor. Shame on them! And shame on Yelp for allowing a place with food that is obviously a cut above the competition to suffer an artificially low review. Their new. I can tell they're trying but I think they need experience and training. The two sauces we tried the Red sauce and chilies verde were more salty sweet than spicy. What a convenient and worthwhile spot to stop! I had the camarones a la diabla and my sister had the mole. Both were absolutely delicious. Probably the best camarones a la diabla that I've come across to date; they were even spicier than ones I've had in the past and even had a sweetness to them. The food came out quickly, and I didn't feel overloaded with rice & beans like I do at some restaurants (the plate was well-proportioned and they didn't skimp on camarones, rice, or beans). Depending on your appetite, you may want to ask for more tortillas; it came with 4 which was plenty for me, but there was still lots left over after filling the 4 tortillas. While waiting I was given water and chips and salsa. During that time a different customer was raving about there meal. We ate there yesterday. We live in Willits and I don't know why we hadn't tried El Chicano until now. It is THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD that I have had in years! I grew up in SoCal and I miss this authentic real, made from scratch food. The service was wonderful. The three salsas plus bean dip that was served at first seemed gourmet. Amazing intricate flavors. My husband had Huevos Ranchera. The Ranchera sauce was so flavorful. I had a burrito. Everything was tasty, tasty, tasty. In Willits visiting friends and ended up at El Chicano before hanging it up for the night. What a treat. Haven't had pozole since a trip to Central America a few years ago.
