Driving through the area and found these folks on Yelp. Had a really great lunch. You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. They have a salsa bar for you to get goodies while you wait. The wait was short and the food was outstanding. Price was very reasonable. Restaurant and the restrooms were very clean. It's all in the name " authentic" and is very much so! Anytime my family and I are out this way we stop in breakfast, lunch or dinner always fresh and delicious! Okay so of the taco places like El Charro where they're authentic tacos and you pick your own toppings etc in Arcadia ( because there are quite a few to choose from ) El Charro is the best. The food itself is comparable at all of these places however El Charro has a true nicer dining area that doesn't feel run down or thrown together , the service is quick and kind and the place is clean ( you can actually see the kitchen and you're not at all nervous ). This might seem like a low bar but compared to all the other similar places in this town doing the same thing they're much better in these categories. Más El Charro please! This is my go to restaurant whenever in Arcadia. Quaint little hole in the wall in a strip mall serving authentic Mexican food. I had the daily special which was a stuffed burrito with Carne Asada. It came with a side of rice and beans. The salsa bar is one of the highlights with just about any type of spicy condiment that you would like to use to enhance your dish. They open at 5 AM for breakfast and close at 9 PM. Whether looking for a simple lunch or a larger dinner plate experience I would highly recommend this place! read more

Confusing. If they have a menu, we never got one. There were pictures of menus on the Yelp App. You order at the counter. There are pictures of food, but no prices. After you order you sit at a table and wait for your food. The no prices thing was worrisome, but as full as it was with locals, we knew it could not be too expensive. It wasn't. I think the total bill for lunch was about 12 bucks and included a drink. Plenty of parking. Busy but clean kitchen. Clean bathrooms. read more

I have tried there Lemon, Hibiscus (Jamaica), Cucumber, and Rice milk (also known as Horchata). This is a found treasure in a small plaza in Arcadia. I visit Arcadia periodically have tried all the Mexican food locations there and finally tried this one out and yum by far the best. The little store like restaurant is very cute. The workers are very pleasant, nice vibe. Many different options for food choices I had dinner the night before -Camarones Rancheros(Ranchero Shrimp) and had to go back for breakfast the next day. The quality of the food is great and the pricing was good too. You walk in order your food and drink grab drink from cooler unless you order their Fresh flavored Mexican water and they give you a cup, you give them your name after you pay and have a seat in their dining area. They have a mini buffet with salsas and condiments to add to your food at your liking. The tortillas are served hot and fresh by hand. I was very confused when I walked into this restaurant (because it was my first time here) and my boyfriend was super skeptical. The front of the restaurant is a little shop that sells snacks, and restaurant is in the back. There are tables to the left and right for seating. We ordered our food and gave our name. Someone did bring the food out to us. There is a little buffet bar next to where we sat and it had different types of salsa, onions, cilantro, hot sauces, etc. It was nice that you could go over there and try all the different types of extra toppings you wanted. I really enjoyed my chimichanga. The flavors were just very different to what I was used to, and the chicken was seasoned nicely. At first glance you might think this place is a dive, and in some ways it is. It's as basic a place as you'll find but don't let the looks fool you, the food is great and authentic. We were meeting someone here and had to wait about half an hour and noticed a steady flow of customers. Always lots of jalapeños, limes and variety of salsa types etc on the self serve bar and great horchata. If you have never had it, this would be a good time to start. On a meat run to a local butcher in Arcadia and due to YELP reviews tried this wonderful place! From the get-go, staff was super kind, suggestive, patient. The menu is HUGE! Watched a gal take fresh dough and make tortillas right there! Dollar taco Tuesday and they weren't those anorexic puny street boys, no way! LOTS of meat! There is a well kept salsa bar to load yer own! I had three enchiladas, r/beans, guac salad. YUM. Husband had the burrito dinner w/rice/beans. Both awesome! Bought chips....crispy crunchy flour and SOOO good with the various salsas! Yes we took a LOT home! We will make this 50 mile one-way just to eat here again! read more

I got three carne asada tacos and the bill came out to about $8. The food came out in probably 3 minutes. With the tacos, you get the meat and tortillas, and you put on the rest of the topping you want yourself. There's a little topping bar with about a dozen different choices. In their specialty, they have the enchiladas which I did not try but my neighbor table order it. I have the special taco. I have lengua, pastor, carnitas, and carne asada. This taco come naked. But they are very well marinated. To add, there is a mini bar with all kinds of this that can be put into your Taco. It include salsa, cilantro, dice tomato, cabbage, and more. Excellent little place. You know the moment you walk in that this will be authentic. You order at the counter, pay for your meal and wait for them to bring it out to you. Pay attention as they will be calling your number. If you get there after noon, expect to stand in a long line. My wife got the carnitas, which were plentiful and excellent. I got the carne asada which was good, but not great (thus the 4-star rating). This place is a steal for very good Mexican food. We only went there because we were transiting from the West Coast to the East Coast. I wish it were closer to Sarasota! read more
