I've been going by this place for years without realizing how good it is - I missed out!…read more We went on a Saturday at 9:30 and it was already bustling, although we were seated right away. We ordered the mole chilaquiles and the churro pancakes and were pleased with both dishes. The mole was great and a huge serving, and the pancakes were three huge fluffy pancakes with ice cream and whipped cream - we could each only eat half and now we've got leftovers- yay! Pancakes also came with eggs and three huge pieces of bacon that managed to be both thick and crispy - delicious. Service was super fast and friendly. We will certainly be back!

We've been meaning to try out this local gym for a while and glad that we did! The hardest part…read moreabout coming there to eat is trying to decide what to eat next time!!! Service was initially of little rocky -it had to wait for water but then once I got up and got someone to help me, they knocked it out of the park! We did the Tres Leche pancakes, but neither one of us are huge pancake fan, but they were fabulous and FILLING. The bacon they brought along side of it, I was blown away with the quality We tried the Chilaquiles both Rojos & Verdes. It was tasty my husband preferred the Verde and I preferred the Rojo sauces. Having tried once so I don't think I need to try it again but definitely well made. The horchata latte was uber rich so glad we ordered one to share but it was insanely delicious

Good Mexican restaurant in West Seattle…read more Ordered carne asada specialty platter. Definitely big enough for two if you aren't crazy hungry Very authentic. Wife loved it Definitely expected more affordable pricing for location but the actual dish itself was nicely done. Would recommend if you are in the neighborhood and will go back again for another dish in the future to try more of their food.

El Catrin has become a favorite Mexican restaurant of ours for this part of Seattle. What grabbed…read moreour attention with it was that they serve Huitlacoche which I'd a corn fungus which is a delicacy in Mexico and Central America. It's something that is pretty rare to find with all of the Mexican restaurants I have been to El Catrin is the only one where it has been found. We had it on the side with rice, lettuce and tomato. The flavor for it is mushroom like with a sweet, savory, woody and smoky flavor that is corn like. It was very unique and delicious! In addition to that we got some totally awesome nachos which out of this world! We made a second trip back here and I got their Chile Relleno which totally blew me away! It was fabulous! The tortillas that came with it were simply marvelous! Steve got an excellent quesadilla! The wait may be a tad long but it's so worth waiting for. I really can't praise the food enough! We are located in Tacoma and El Catrin is in an unincorporated Seattle neighborhood and so the drive is at least half an hour on a good day but we wouldn't hesitate in making a trip up here just for this restaurant! I can't say that for many restaurants but I certainly would with El Catrin. Fresh, flavorful and a sheer delight we will be coming here with any opportunity we can seize!
