El Carnitas Mexican Grill - Carnitas - Mexican Near Me - Enid, Oklahoma

We were in the area and decided to grab lunch together, so we stopped at Carnitas based on the reviews--and we were really pleased that we did! I ordered the street taco platter, and my husband had the carne asada. Both were very good, and I thought the presentation of the carne asada was especially nice. The restaurant itself is very unassuming, with a relaxed, low-key vibe. It definitely feels like one of those places that has become a favorite with the locals, and after trying the food, I can see why. Our server was kind, prompt & caring. Of course, we had to try the flan! I would say it was slightly overcooked, but really... can you ever go completely wrong with flan? Overall, good food, a casual atmosphere, and a nice little find while we were in the area. We'd definitely stop in again! read more

Excellent salsa! I had the tostagliac and it was great! Service was really good! Ambiance was fun! read more

Service was good . Nice ambiance. Beef was full of gristle. Food was put quick. Maybe if we ordered chicken review would be better read more

Had the taco plate--excellent. The service was good--odd that no ticket was left on table--had to go to cashier who somehow knew what was owed. Another oddity--I chose to drink water but it came in a bottle at a cost so I traded it for a fountain soda in a to go cup. I was there after 1 p.m. so not too many dine-in customers but there was a steady stream of people picking up to-go orders. I'm from out-of-town, but if I'm ever in Enid around lunch time, I'll revisit and again order the taco plate. I'm a fan of Mexican food and found this place to be tastefully different from the typical Mexican restaurant. The dipping sauce was very good. Two extra sauces were served: green which was hot, and red which was much hotter--sort of reverse of the norm. If you are a first timer, take a look at the food pictures on the wall and order accordingly. Happy eating! read more

What a hole in the wall! You wouldn't dream that you could get such fabulous food from a place located next to a convenience store in a sketchy neighborhood. The ambiance is definitely set to the Mexican stereotypical decor. As per a lot of mexican wall menus, there are descriptions and/or pictures of what they have. I enjoy that feature and wish Americans would tdd make note. The food is sumptuous for the price. There is plenty of variety, prepared quickly, hot and tasty. Seating is limited, but they have no problem with go orders! I'm sure I will be back that way soon, grab a go box and leave room for the guys who came to sit down for a break and lunch. English speaking was halting and we had a bit of a time making sure we both knew what the order was. Beyond that, no problem! read more

This place is amazing! The tacos had more flavor than almost any place I've ever eaten at. The traditional burrito was stocked full of everything you could ever want. So glad we tried this place while we were passing through Enid! read more

Neat little place. We were in town for work and stopped in for lunch. The place was very authentic, tacos were tasty.

One of our favorites in Enid. Love the quesadillas & the burritos are huge. Really good white queso too.

Glad the Yelp reviews were there because I wouldn't have stopped otherwise. Took a small group for lunch on our way out of town and was pleasantly surprised. Authentic, good portion sizes, and good service. I split the Carnitas family meal for 2 and it was an easy 3+ sized meal for us. Flavorful salsa, great chips, and nice variety. The torta looked great. Will have to try it next time. Enjoy! read more

Don't judge a book by its cover! From the outside this place doesn't look the most inviting with bars on the windows, but the inside is just fine and the workers are really nice. I ordered the chicken fajitas not really knowing what to expect. When the fajitas came out, it was sizzling meaning it was cook to order and the corn tortillas seems to have been freshly made. The portion size was bigger than I expected which made me super happy since I was starving! Taste-wise, the food is pretty good especially when considering how small Enid is. Overall, I would recommend this place to any local or visitor so come check this place out if you're craving some Mexican food! read more

El Carnitas Mexican Grill - Chicken Fajitas - Mexican Near Me - Enid, Oklahoma

Great food with a lot of variety! Some of the best salsa in town. I think Enid has some truly amazing Mexican food especially considering the size of the town and this is one of the best! I usually get the taco platter or a quesadilla and they are both delicious and satisfying. A lot of items on the menu I still need to try read more

Good is great customer service is great overall best Mexican restaurant in Oklahoma imo

Best Carnitas in town. Best in Oklahoma. It is an authentic taqueria with a good selection of offerings. Cold beer, Agua Fresca and soft drinks. Family run and they will take good care of you. Ask questions about the food and they are happy to talk about it. Don't forget the churros. read more

Smiling, friendly table service and simply delicious, authentic Mexican food. Ambience? Hardly. Barebones exterior and interior alike. But let's be perfectly candid here, folks -- you're stuck in Enid, you're hungry, and you want large portions of good food to stick to your ribs. You've come to the right place. read more

I don't know where to start, this place is amazing. We are from Northern Virginia and our tacos are not this tasteful. If you are close to Enid Oklahoma you should come and try this Michoacán cuisine... read more

Best tacos I ever had in my life!! I had the chicken and the carnitas (pork). Came with lime, onions and cilantro as well as grilled onions. (Could have had jalapeños too). Only $2.29 each. Great service as well. We came in town for Leonardo's and grabbed lunch here. read more

Most slept on restaurant in Enid. Fantastic food, great family atmosphere, amazing service and the portion size is well worth the money. The owners of the restaurant and their entire family are great people with an awesome come up story. I highly recommend this place to everyone who asks me where to eat in Enid. read more

Super friendly folks, delicious salsa, excellent food. Had the quesadilla plate with steak. Fresh Fixins on the side.

Not sure how this place is 5 stars. Food was ok at best and we waited for check for 10 min and finally had to ask and was told to pay at register. Stood up to pay a bit out of the way (so as to not stand in front of other tables) and had five people allowed to cut in front of us and we were late getting back to our training our team was conducting. Terrible setup for paying our ticket, to say the least. Overall service was slow as well. Just not impressed and def would not return to this place. read more

Great dinner...I had the taco platter with carnitas and it didn't disappoint! The portions were very large and I had a taco left to take home. The carnitas were very flavorful. The platter was served with beans and rice. I would highly recommend and look forward to returning when visiting the area. read more

Finally got to eat here... Clean and great service! The salsa and chips were excellent - very fresh tasting with lots of cilantro. I had the Monster Burrito with fried steak. Monster is an understatement. I never ask for a carry out box, but I couldn't eat the whole thing. The steak was very good and the veggies inside this huge tortilla were fresh, varied, and excellent. There were many Latinos eating here, they serve Mexican bottled soft drinks, their sauces are not TexMex. I would say this place is authentic Mexican. Can't wait to try their carnitas. read more

OMG!! Excellent food, great service, huge portions... wish we had this place in our hometown!! We had the white cheese dip and chicken fajitas...best ever!! Awesome salsa...SO fresh!! read more

This place has danky carne asada fries. I order them with mozzarella instead of cheese sauce, and I add onions and extra guacamole. I thought the Midwest would be especially hard to find proper carne asada fries in (given that I'm from SoCal) but this place shown through the dark like a beacon of light. I recommend trying them, I believe they're called "crazy fries" on the menu. read more

Great chicken and shrimp fajitas! I love how they prepare the onions and peppers and include plenty of them. Service was excellent as well. read more

I am in LOVE. First off, the people running the front are basically the nicest people I've ever met. Second, the food. So good. When I first came here I could NOT decide on what meat in my taco other than their namesake, Carnitas; anyways, I asked how their Al Pastor is (because I am super picky about it I guess) and they gave me a sample. It was so amazing, and very awesome of them to do that. I loved everything about the tacos-- they bring out all of the fixings you might want too, and their tortillas are very good. I've also tried their burritos and they are MASSIVE (and delicious)! Go here for dinner or lunch! Or both, you won't regret it! read more

The carnitas are very authentic and delicious to carry out by pound. Their taco plates to eat-in are also delicious. I've tried their carnitas, carne asada, and al pastor, they're all good, but we like the carnitas the best. read more

I'm from Houston and this is the closest in town to good Mexican.!! So get out there and try it, keep them in business, help keep good good in Enid. read more

Very Good! Clean and Friendly environment. The portions are large, no skimping here. I ordered the Steak Taco salad and my order was mixed up and they brought me the Taco Plate. They were kind and were going to make it right by fixing the Taco Salad or making it to go. I declined because the Taco plate looked delicious!! And it Was Very Good. Definitely going back again and trying the Steak Taco Salad next. read more

Don't be deceived by the appearance. This place was amazinggg. It is the first place I went to when I visited when I arrived in Enid. I split the carnitas for two and it was a huge portion. We managed to make 2 meals out of it. Seriously. Go here. It is delicious and I'm not Mexican but I've been to Mexico and I'd call it authentic for sure read more

Best salsa in town! I get the fajitas and it's more than enough for two. My only complaint is that I wish they had queso. I have learned that in a real authentic Mexican setting, queso isn't available. The salsa makes it worth the trip! read more
