I traveled to California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery from Fremont (the Bay Area). Surprisingly, it only took an hour and 20 minutes to get there and it was easy to find once getting close. Upon arriving, I noticed right away how peaceful of a location it was. I personally believe that was a combination of the location being a bit rural as well as the surrounding landscape and nature. In addition, the grounds are kept very clean...the sidewalks are pretty much spotless. Although there was barely anyone there, there is ample parking incase it does get crowded. The restrooms were kept very clean as well. Also, the employee in the office was very helpful in telling me exactly where to go to find the location of the funeral service. As for the service itself, it took place at the "Committal Shelter". It was pretty breezy up there in the hills, so the shelter provided a bit of a relief from the wind. The benches under the roof were spotless as well, so there wasn't any second-thoughts about sitting on them. Everyone that took part in the service (the representative from the cemetery, the employees of the cemetery, the VFW Honor Guard, active-duty Honor Guard, bugel player and chaplain all did an outstanding job. Even though I attended as a friend and not a blood-family member, I still felt comforted by how well everything went. May all of the brave members of the Armed Forces rest in eternal peace and of course rest in peace to my friend, World War II veteran, Frank.

Thank goodness for this beatiful cemetary, located a stones throw from the ocean, in central California. He is now in peace. And what a beautiful resting place. Typically they have someone working inside the office area but nobody was there when we went this Saturday. Bathrooms are locked and they provide porta potties outside- those were locked as well. For the most part the cemetery is quiet and clean. Depending on services held, it can get crowded and people leave there trash-beer cans/wrappers, alcohol bottles behind. My family will not visit when services are being held for local gang members for obvious reasons.

But they worked with us every step of the way and it was just the best experience we could have had at an extremely difficult time. Their kindness really had an impact on our experience and I cannot be more thankful to them. Sometimes in business what makes the difference is people actually having that awareness in what they are doing and how they do things rather than just trying to make a living. And it was apparent that both Paul & Dennis understood their profession and the care that goes hand and hand with it.

I honestly would not recommend this funeral home to anyone who wants everything to run smooth when it comes to funeral issues.

Struve and Laporte worked with the Sunnyvale Funeral director and we scheduled both viewings on consecutive days. The logistics were a bit challenging, but they really came thru for us. The chapel was beautiful and very comforting. They chose the perfect music and had the chapel set up in a way to be Covid conscious. I am very grateful to them for all of their help.
