Chilequiles with carnitas
Chris M.

Went on 10/4. I go here every so often place is good to eat at. Has bunch of seating inside and on patio and is always clean. Bathroom was broken this visit and half the tv's were off, they normally have them all on with games on. Staff are all really nice and service is great. We tried the special burrito which was good with tender pork in chile verde sauce covered in chili verde sauce and cheese. Yhe sope plate was big they were good but asada was bland with no flavor. The chilequiles were great came with carnitas which was delicious! I always come back the breakfast is my favorite but we tried different stuff this time.

Two Cheese Enchiladas

I was craving enchiladas for an early dinner so we decided to come the El Cantarito since I've been here before to have their breakfast and that was pretty tasty. We arrived around 4pm. Super dead. Zero wait. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We opted to sit inside and got a window seat (great photo lighting). I ordered my enchiladas and they were exactly what I was craving. The red sauce was delicious and all the cheese I could ask for. The courtesy chips are nice and crunchy and the salsa had a nice kick to it too. Our servers were so polite and attentive. This was one of my favorite things coming here. Parking looks slim on the street side in front of the restaurant but there is a lot in the back the offers plenty of open spots.

Food was amazing! We will definitely be back! The beans tasted just like my grandmas, and the menudo just melted in your mouth! Chilaquiles were phenomenal. The churro is a must have! Owner and his wife were so sweet and attentive at all times!

There are several Mexican restaurants in old town Placentia and this is one of them. We arrived and the place was busy. We found a table and sat for a brief time before a very nice lady came by to greet us. I'm guessing she was busy and that might have been the reason for the slow service. She was very nice and friendly. She brought chips and salsa. The chips were thick and unsalted. So the crunch was heavy. The salsa was tasty and was pleasantly spicy. I had chilaquiles. They were covered in a red sauce and cheese. They weren't crunchy but more chewy. The rice and beans were delicious. And the plate covered with 2 well fried eggs. The place was clean and the tables spaced to give room for each without being crowded. For me, the food was good but not very memorable. The service a bit slow although the 2 ladies were very nice but busy.

Al mojo de ajo

First time coming here and OMG everything was amazing. Let's start with the café, nice and rich. I ordered the combo plate. My husband ordered a breakfast burrito and my mom ordered camaron al mojo de ajo. Everything was delicious. My kids got a special treat at the end.

We were in the mood for Mexican food. Our usual place was closed so we looked for another Mexican restaurant close by. Ended up here. We were greeted by Marlene who was out front closing up the patio. She ended up being our server too. The food was good. I got Chile Verde. The sauce was delicious, very flavorful. The corn tortillas were handmade and fluffy. Husband got Shrimp Diablo. He said it had the right amount of spice. Loved the little street this place was on. Reminded me of areas we'd been to I. Mexico.

Salsa is slightly chunky with a little bit of heat

Everything was absolutely superb! You can really taste the quality of their house-made tortillas and house-marinated meats. Plus, the portions are huge! The restaurant was packed, and it is easy to see why. The vine is super cool with lively high energy social atmosphere! Since it was so busy, we initially ordered our food to-go because there were no open seats. However, the coolest guy at the register (I forgot to ask his name!) went above and beyond. He asked us to wait a moment and personally got a table ready so we could dine in. His phenomenal service, knowledge, and great personality truly topped off our experience. All the servers were outstanding!! Watch out Que Vida, your new regulars!! See you tomorrow!!!

My wife ordered the fajitas, and I decided to try the Diablo Shrimp. I enjoy trying new and different foods, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Let me tell you--the name is no joke! The Diablo Shrimp was incredibly spicy, truly living up to its name. If you love heat, you'll definitely enjoy it. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service made the experience even better. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Mi Casita to anyone looking for great Mexican food and excellent service.

The burrito had far too much rice and not nearly enough meat, which made it feel unbalanced. The chips were greasy, and the salsas could definitely use more salt and flavor. Even the sour cream was overly sour. I really wanted to enjoy this meal, but several items missed the mark. With better seasoning, more balanced portions, and some improvements to the overall flavor, this restaurant could offer a much better dining experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I can only give it two stars.

If I want something amazingly delicious and unhealthy I get their carne asada nachos!! Oh man!! So, I had that at their south OC location. The food is decent, which is why I've continued to give this location another chance, but the customer service really takes away from the experience. Most of the staff seem very young and uninterested in being there. When you walk in, they're often on their phones, there's rarely a greeting or any kind of welcoming attitude, and even while ordering it feels like helping customers is a chore. The service is also inconsistent. Sometimes they'll bring your food out to you, and other times someone will just yell "hey" from behind the counter and expect you to come grab it. There was one girl I encountered who was much friendlier and more attentive, but unfortunately I've only seen her once. I really wish the experience were more pleasant because the food itself is decent, but the service makes it hard to want to keep coming back. I've had much better experiences at both the Orange and Tustin locations, and this location definitely doesn't compare.
