I also loved the 2 garlic bread sticks as it was flavorful and had a nice crunch! I loved everything about this dish and I don't say that all the time. HOWEVER, i decided to give it another shot after seeing their attractive happy hour menu! (offered from 2PM to 5PM). I was quickly seated in the bar area and greeted by my server. I tried the hamachi crispy rice and raw oyster which was super yummy and fresh. It was beautifully presented, and garnished. My only note was that I wish it would have been served with a side of wasabi/soy sauce but it had its own sweet soy sauce drizzled on top. its super nice in the summer when the weather is nice because the have this partial outdoor bar seating window that opens up! you dont see many places with this kind of bar design.

The owner of Reedville called me today and sincerely apologize for the situation that took place lastnight! I wasn't asking for anything but an apology last night and that did not come from the manager, but the owner was not pleased and is more than adequately taking care of things for us! I have to say that says a lot about his business ethics! After talking to him I understand he is in a really tough spot! He is a new owner and trying to live up to the expectations of his customers who have been coming there for many years! He is trying to keep things the way that Rick had them so it keeps customers happy but there are things he would like to change (the meal we had lastnight is one of then) but he is afraid to ruin the reputation of the restaurant by making changes to quickly! He is keeping the menu consistent with the original menu and recipes and hoping the customers will be willing to accept that some changes can be good, so he can possibly try new things! I really do appreciate him calling me back and at least apologizing and recognizing that the situation that happened last night was not appropriate! With all that said, because of him I will give them another try! I hope that others will too! I wanted to try them and ordered 5 pounds of mussels in December. They delivered the mussels when they said they would. But the 5 pounds quickly ended up being only 3 1/2 pounds of usable mussels due to the initial short weight and the large number of broken and opened mussels. After I was invoiced for the full 5 pounds, I emailed them with an explanation and photos of the bad mussels and how much they weighed. I asked if they would discount the mussels. They actually cancelled my invoice, which I appreciated. But this is their email response. "Fresh live shellfish is not an exact science, we try to offer the best quality and freshest products possible but that is a slightly different experience than the buying at the grocery store. Sorry for your inconvenience, we are better than the rest but still not for everyone." This sounded to me like they didn't like me complaining about this problem and that I wasn't someone that they wanted for a customer. Guess I was right, looks like they took me off of the weekly email list as I haven't received their emails since my complaint. Overall, this was not a good customer experience.
